Basketball heavy tonight! The Bulls are back from Paris and are taking on the Hawks. We'll review the win over Detroit in France. We'll also go through the local college scene and see how the men and women are doing at their respective schools. Free Agency is also just around the corner in the WNBA, what might the Sky be up to? The Bulls snapped a 3-game losing skid with a big win over Golden State yesterday! Nikola Vucevic had a career game with 43 points and 13 boards. Now their off to Paris for a date with the Pistons, oo la la! Meanwhile, the Bears have a new President and CEO, fresh from the Big 10! Kevin Warren takes over, but what does that mean for the team? Cubs Convention was over the weekend, we'll look for any takeaways there and also follow up with the Concordia Chicago Men's basketball team from their California fall out.
The Bears completed arguably their worst season in franchise history yesterday, but for the first time since 1947, they have the #1 overall pick in the draft! What does this mean? What should they do? We'll overreact to the news. Plus the Bulls are in Boston, Liam Hendricks has some terrible personal news, and a strange story from Adam's alma mater
Happy New Year one and all! The Bears season is mercifully coming to a close very soon. After that absolute beat down of a drubbing at the hands of the Detroit Lions, there's no a whole lot left to be learned in this tear down season. We'll react to the game but also start looking ahead to the offseason and the 2023 campaign. The Illini played their first January bowl game in 15 years today, we'll react to the RealiQuest Bowl and the loss to Mississippi State. Finally, we'll check in on the Bulls as well
The holidays are upon us! Now that we've all thawed out from Saturday's Bears game, we can talk about it in both the micro (yep, that roster is short on talent) as well as the macro (they have a shot at the #1 pick). Welcome back Chicago fans! This was a rough one, not only did the Bears drop a 4th quarter lead against the Packers, but the Bulls and Blackhawks both lost on Sunday as well! The MLB Hot Stove is heating up and so far the Cubs and Sox are quite. But there is one cool story from last week.
The Bears lost yet again, this time to the Jets. But what made this time different was Justin Fields was nowhere to be found. Can anything useful be gained from that game, then? The White Sox were busy over the weekend, signing a new starting pitcher, but also saw longtime first baseman Jose Abreu leave for Houston. Finally, the Bulls are just darned confusing.
The Bears lost to the Falcons yesterday, but that is no longer the news. We have an update on his left shoulder that is massive for the rest of the year. Meanwhile, the Bulls season is barely underway but is it already headed for the tank? The Blackhawks also welcomed back a legend and the World Cup is undeway!
Yesterday's loss to the Lions was confusing. On the one hand, Justin Fields made history again and continues to grow. On the other hand, the Bears had a 14-point lead in the 4th quarter at home and lost to the Lions. How do we rationalize all of this? Da Bears dropped a tough one yesterday against the Giants. Where should the blame go and how much should we be panicing? Lonzo Ball gave an update last week and the prognosses wasn't great. Tony La Russa is retiring again, thank goodness! And the Illini made a statement in Madison!
The Bears survived yesterday's game against Houston. The running attack was historically good while Justin Fields looked possibly the worst he has yet as a pro. What to make of these 2-1 Bears? Meanwhile, the White Sox had an absolutely terrible week and have finally been eliminated from postseason contention. What the heck went wrong this year on the South Side? Finally, Brett Bielma has Illinois at 3-1, their best start since 2015. Will it last?
What a difference a week makes. After a surprisng 1-0 start, the Bears were brought crashing back down to Earth thanks to a drubbing at the hands of the hated Packers. Are there any good things to be taken from the game? Meanwhile, the White Sox have a HUGE series against Cleveland this week. And might Wilson Contreras be back with the Cubs next year?

Jason Heyward has played his last game as a Cub. The Cubs announced that Heyward will miss the rest of this season and they will then look to move him or DFA him in the offseason. The NBA All-Star break was this past weekend. Finally! The season is basically 2/3 over! What took so long? DeMar DeRozan made history right before the break, taking down one of Wilt Chamberlain's records. Zach Lavine is coming back with Ball and Caruso soon to follow. Oh yeah, and Tristan Thompson has joined the team. Are the Bulls finally ready for a push? They'll need to be. Also this week, the Blackhawks are making changes in their Ambassador program, Bobby Hull will no longer be a Team Ambassador. Do we make anything of this move? Finally, MLB and it's players union have agreed to meet multiple times this week, perhaps even every day, to try and avoid regular season games being lost. Will it matter?
