Wes kicks off Part Two of this series by looking at Max Martin. Max's work in the music industry is so pervasive and his talent as a producer seems to know no bounds.
It is astounding how many different artists he has worked with since the early 90s, and how many incredibly successful songs he has written -- the list seems to go on forever!

In the first episode of Season Two, John and Wes sit down with their friend Alex Tindal. In Part One of this episode, Alex brings a unique perspective to the conversation as a writer, comedian, actor and also a musician.
Whether it is on stage performing sketch comedy, writing a comedic song or scoring music for a film, Alex brings us in on his perspectives regarding the similarities and differences between these pursuits: what he does, the creative and performative aspects of these endeavours and the different ways in which vulnerability is expressed in the process.

In part two of this episode, the MAP guys continue their conversation with musician and high school music teacher Daniela Gassi.
We learn about the songs Daniela chooses to explore with her students, the many different hats she had to wear while teaching music virtually during Covid and what she loves about the music she creates and plays for herself. We also dive into the music she likes listening to, including some "guilty pleasures!"
John and Wes sit down with Daniela Gassi. By day, Daniela is a high school music teacher instructing students between Grades 9-12. By night, Daniela pursues playing music with various different groups and as a solo act as well.
In this episode, the MAP guys learn quite a lot about the strings in an orchestra, but more importantly, learn some of the many helpful tactics Daniela uses as an instructor and how she empowers and engages her students to learn in a way that is enriching and self-governed.

In part two of this episode, the MAP guys finish their conversation with Jae, dive into more about his creative process and continue to talk about the changing landscape of the music industry.
The MAP guys sit down with Jaeson Strachan. Although his working experience is as a music producer, engineer, songwriter, performer, Jae describes his role in the industry as that of a translator. Creatively speaking, he connects the dots and helps others do the same. This is part 1 of our conversation with Jae.

While the focus does remain on why people are so gravitated to this medium, the conversation also focuses on the role of technology and its impacts on people listening to music. Though new technologies are commonly perceived to have negative impacts on its users, this conversation highlights many positive aspects of technology as it pertains to people accessing and consuming music.
Why do people love listening to music on vinyl? Young and old, people are so gravitated to listening to music on vinyl. Whether it is the act of collecting these rare gems, or the fidelity itself, why do people love using this medium to listen to their music?
In this episode, John and Wes discuss the above with their guest, Lance Stewart, who is a PhD Candidate that is examining these very ideas and much more.
