Encouraging Words To Give You Hope is a podcast with a mission to encourage you with the words of hope God gives us in His Word.
Each week join Hope Ann, the author and founder of @meditatehope, as we discuss several different topics, dive into God’s Word together, and encourage ourselves in the Lord.
So sit back, grab your Bible, and take some notes as we meditate on the encouragement God gives us in His Word. Are you ready? Let’s get into the episode!
I've heard it said before that life is measured in seasons. Seasons of hardship, grieving, busyness, seasons of transition, seasons that mark the start of a new chapter, the list goes on and on.
But when it comes to GOD putting us through a SEASON OF WAITING in life, it can seem ten times worse and feel like an eternity. Why is the waiting so hard, and how can we get through it with patience and joy, knowing that God's plan is best?
To the Christian in a waiting season or knows someone in a waiting season... I pray that this week's devotional encourages and blesses you as we discuss what the Bible says about seasons of waiting, some encouragement, and reflection questions to think about.

This week, we are wrapping up our series in the Psalms! This is week 6 of this series, and in the past weeks, we have discussed: • How To Live a Blessed Life • Being Thirsty For The Things of God • Your 9-1-1 Scripture Passages • Having a Heart of Repentance • Believing God Is Good When Your Circumstances Are Not
In this week's devotional, we will discuss the familiar Psalm 23, as well as 62 and 16; all three are psalms of David.
As we wrap up this series, may we reflect back on what God has taught us through this series and what we can apply to our everyday lives.

If we opened our newsfeeds for just a few minutes, we could see the painful circumstances and situations our world is going through, from wars to shootings, to critical decisions being made, to loss and grief. We see it all around us every day. But more than on a global scale, you personally may be walking through a challenging circumstance right now. And with all the hate and worry the world can throw at us on a daily basis, it can cause us to question: Where is God in all of this? How can I believe that God is still good even when the circumstances around me are not?
This week as we continue our series in the Psalms, we will be looking at Psalms 34, 100, and 150, which are all psalms of praise. We will be talking about the power of praise and how we indeed declare with confidence that GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME, even when our circumstances may not be.

When you do something wrong, do you feel guilty about it? When you sin, does it burden your heart as it burdens the heart of God?
This week, we will be discussing Psalms 51 and 139 and how these psalms show us the importance of having a heart of repentance. Though we think of repentance to God (or confession to God) as something we only do when we do something wrong, it should also be a daily heart posture and practice for us as believers.
We will also go through some reflection questions with some practical action steps as we learn how a heart of repentance can bring healing, restoration, and strengthen our relationship with God in the long run.

When worry and fear surround you in times of trouble and despair, and you don't know what to do, where do you turn?
This week, as we continue our series in the Psalms, we will be discussing 9-1-1 SCRIPTURE PASSAGES, or in this case, our 9-1-1 Psalms. These four psalms (Psalm 91, 77, 46, and 121) that we will be looking at are psalms we can go to in times of trouble, knowing that we can rest in the promises God gives us in these passages.

This week as we continue our series in the Psalms, we will be diving into three different Psalms- Psalms 42, 63, and 27. These psalms have different perspectives from two different psalmists, but all three blend in together with their common theme: THEIR LONGING AND THIRST FOR THE LORD.
So get ready and grab your Bible as we dive into these Psalms, and may we reflect on this question- are we THIRSTY for the things of God?

Throughout your life, you've probably prayed many different kinds of prayers to God- some asking for wisdom and guidance, some laying out your praise before the Lord, in some prayers you got on your knees desperate for a move of God, some asking for His forgiveness, and others where you just poured out your heart before the Lord and got honest with Him. Real and raw, you just laid it out before Him in the messiness of life, trying to remember who He is and what His Word says.
Many of the prayers throughout of lives reflect much upon the season we are in, what we are feeling at that moment, and what God is teaching us. This is exactly what we find in the book of Psalms- the book of the Bible we will be diving into in the several weeks as we get real with God, remember who He is, and find practical applications to apply to our everyday lives.

This week we are starting a brand-new two-part series called ''The Journey To The Cross'' as we dive into the true meaning behind Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter while also seeing the character of Jesus through it all.
As Palm Sunday is coming up this Sunday, we will be asking ourselves this question: What is the meaning behind Palm Sunday?
We will discuss a bit of a background of Jesus's life and ministry leading up to this point, Jesus entering into Jerusalem, His Last Supper with His disciples, and we will also end with a little recap of this week, a peek into what we will talk about next week, and some reflection questions to think about even if you’ve already heard the story of Palm Sunday so many times— there’s so much we can reflect upon from this passage!

Today we are wrapping up our series ''Choose This Day'', all about being devoted disciples in today's world. In this series, we have discussed making the choice of who we will serve and why it's a daily choice we must make, how we can clean up the idols in our lives in three practical steps, and what WHOLEHEARTED devotion to God looks like in our everyday lives.
Now we come to our final week of this series which is really the second most important topic after choosing to serve the Lord and accepting Him as our personal Lord Savior: living out the Great Commission. this week we will discuss:
• the #1 calling we all have as believers • three things to remember as we live ON MISSION in our everyday lives • how Joshua's declaration of ''as for me and my house'' back in the Old Testament is a declaration for generations

On December 5th, we had part one in our ''mini-series'' within our ''To The Christian'' series, where we discussed what the TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS is. In this week's devotional and podcast episode, we will be diving into ''Part Two: To The Christian Trying To Be A Light This Christmas Season.'' This week's devotional will be a bit shorter than usual, as we will not be diving so much into the Christmas story (as we did previously), but instead, we will be discussing four main points to remember as we share the Good News and be a light to those around us this Christmas and also a special freebie/announcement included with this week's devotional!
May the story of Christmas never be something we overlook and forget to share with those around us. The story of Christmas (the celebration of God sending His Son, Jesus, into the world to pay the punishment for our sins) is not something we should keep to ourselves. When someone knows and believes the true meaning of Christmas, it can be life-changing; and who would want to miss out on receiving the greatest gift of all time? Will you share the most important, life-changing story with those around you?
Let's dive into this week's devotional with an open heart, ready to receive what God has in store for us in being a light this Christmas season.

Happy first Sunday of December, everyone! The last month of 2021 is among us, and wow, how this year has flown by!
Not only does entering December mean wrapping up 2021, but it also means that we are officially entering the Christmas season. The weather is getting cold out (if you're like me and live in the Midwest/Northern parts of the US), people are putting out their Christmas lights, going gift shopping, and making plans to gather with family.
But in the midst of all our world does today to celebrate what they call ''the happiest season of all'' for the Christian, CHRISTmas has a much deeper meaning than that- and knowing and believing that meaning can be life-changing.
So in today’s special edition of our “To The Christian” series, this week’s devotional and podcast episode is TO THE ONE trying to understand the TRUE MEANING of Christmas- this week we will discuss what truly is the big deal about Christmas, three prophecies tied into the story of Christmas, what the focal point of all history is, and the greatest gift anyone could ever receive.
And even if you have heard the story of Christmas dozens of times in your lifetime, I pray that you would still choose to have an open heart to what God has to say this Christmas season. God can reveal new things to us if we just have AN OPEN AND AVAILABLE HEART to what He has to say.

This week, we are closing out our series in the book of Ephesians! In chapter 6, we will be diving into Paul's final greetings to the Ephesians, more instructions for Christian households, and something Ephesians 6 is well known for the ARMOR OF GOD.

When you first became a Christian, or even now in your current journey of faith, did you ever feel like the journey with Jesus and living for Him was just ''too hard'' or that the world’s struggles and everyday temptations just weighed you down in living for Him?
As Paul's letter to the Ephesians is coming to a close, he further discusses instructions for Christian living and instructions for Christian households. As we go through chapter 5, I encourage you to observe and see how we as CHILDREN OF GOD were made to BE DIFFERENT- living holy and blameless in His sight. So far in our study of Ephesians, we have looked at the first three chapters of Ephesians that have touched on the foundations of our faith- from Paul talking about our redemption story to the Gospel being for all people and to God's Master plan.
In the rest of these chapters, we will see many PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS Paul gives the Ephesians to live out their faith, maturing and growing in their walk with Christ and putting on the armor of God daily. As we dive into Ephesians chapter 4, join me verse by verse as we open up our Bibles and study God's Word. In Mark 16:15, Jesus gives a command to His disciples. He says to them, "He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." When Jesus said ALL CREATION, that meant people of all tribes, tongues, nations, and ethnicities no matter what their background or what they look like.
When Paul wrote his letter to the Ephesians, a BIG QUESTION rose up among believers: could Gentiles be saved and be Christians? Did God have a plan for them, too, and not just Jews? As we have seen in previous chapters, it was known in history that the Israelites/Jews were God's chosen people and who God had planned out to be Jesus's disciples, leaders of the church, etc.
In this chapter, and as we have already seen throughout Ephesians, we will see how God opened the Gospel to all people- whether Jew or Gentile. At the current moment when Paul was writing this, there was some division in the church trying to decide if a Gentile that was a Christian would also have to become a Jew following Jewish customs and laws. As we dive into Ephesians chapter 3, we will see Paul discuss these issues and reveal what he refers to as a ''mystery.'' You’ve probably heard the song “Amazing Grace” before. The familiar lyrics tell us:
Amazing Grace How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost, but now I'm found Was blind, but now I see
We are so undeserving of God’s grace and it’s such a precious gift God has given to each and every one of us. But so often, in our everyday lives, we can get caught up in the pleasures of this world and our pride and forget our redemption story- Our roots. Our first love. Our Savior and Redeemer.
In this week’s devotional, we will be diving into Ephesians 2 where Paul talks all about God’s gift of grace, remembering our life before Christ, and how salvation is offered to all. So grab your Bible and let’s humble ourselves before the Lord today as we study His Word. Christ-like. As Christians, this is a term we often hear, but what does it truly mean to be Christ-like? And why is it so essential to be Christ-like as a disciple of Christ? Moreover, HOW do we become Christ-like? As we head into week 4 of our series ''Godliness Training Camp'' we will be answering all these questions and more.
Remember, all you need to study God's Word is an open heart receptive to what He has to say. Let's have an open and available heart to the Lord as we had into this week's podcast episode. Temptation. It's a daily battle between us and our flesh that can drain us, wear us down, and make us drift away from God. When we face temptation in our everyday lives, it can cause us to question God, asking Him, ''Why do you allow temptation to happen to me?'' or ''How do I overcome this temptation, Lord?"
This week, as we continue our series ''Godliness Training Camp,'' we will be diving deep into the topic of temptation. We will talk about talking about what is, why it happens, how Jesus was also tempted here on earth, and how we can overcome temptation through the power of God.

Are you a devoted disciple of Christ? How are you set apart from the ways of the world? In this week's devotional, we are continuing our series ''Godliness Training Camp,'' and we will be talking about how our devotion to God and being set apart plays a part in living a godly life.
We will talk about the first step in our devotion to God, why wholehearted devotion to God is important, what that might look like in our everyday lives, and being set apart from the ways of the world.
Last week we had our intro to godliness, and if you haven't read that devotional yet, I encourage you to go back and read it before jumping into this week. In summer, you may think of several summer camps going on in your community. School is out, and kids are looking for something to do to keep busy. Some parents might even enroll their kids in a summer camp. Other times, there are camps over the summer for specific trainings such as the military or training for a big event like a marathon.
That's the idea behind our new series, "Godliness Training Camp!" Come and study God's Word for the next six weeks as we learn how to live a godly life and be more Christlike based in 1 + 2 Timothy. We will go through several different topics such as:
• An intro to godliness • Devotion to God and being set apart • Overcoming temptation • Being a Christ-like example to others • Guarding and suffering well • Perseverance and passing it on

Have you ever been in a place of deep grief that caused you not even to eat or drink? Or maybe you have been in season a where you have prayed for God to do something for such a long time and it seemed as if He would never come through.
This is what we will see in Hannah's story in 1 Samuel 1. She was a woman who was persistent in prayer, called herself a ''servant'' of the Lord, and through just a bit of her story, we see how there was brokenness inside of her that God changed into something beautiful. Through Hannah's story, we will see how her Heavenly Father would show her the greater purpose behind her grief and the power of her persistent prayer.
So grab your Bible, turn to 1 Samuel 1, and dive in right alongside me as we go verse by verse. But the question is, is it possible to have peace, joy, and contentment through all it all? In this week's devotional, as we close out the book of Philippians, we will see how Paul went experienced both being in deep need and having plenty, and how through both he was content, had peace, and joy- all through Christ. But through Philippians chapter 3, we will see Paul encouraging the Philippians not to put their confidence in the flesh, to desire the things of God, and press on to the end goal.
This chapter is the shortest out of all the chapters in Philippians, but through it, we will see the conviction of the Holy Spirit and reflection for us in our everyday lives.

As believers in being one with Christ, we should have the same love, humility, and compassion as ourselves!
