If you are contemplating divorce, you will likely struggle with negative thoughts as to why divorcing is a bad idea. Sometimes marriages have run their course. Sometimes it is best to part ways. However, our brain takes us to all the reasons that this is a bad idea. Giving equal airtime to what might be better, if you divorced, is something worth exploring. Is there a possibility that things could work out for the best, that your life could be better? The answer is yes.  In this episode I discuss giving equal airtime to not only the negative of divorce but also the positive. The reality is that things could work out for the best, and you could find the peace and happiness and a new chapter of your life with amazing possibilities.  If you want to explore the possibility that life after divorce could be better than it is now, than listen to this episode.

Why do we tend to think about the negative of our circumstances more than the positive?

What would be different if we gave equal airtime to the positive possibilities or outcomes stemming from our divorce?

If you are stuck in the negative of things, you know that it doesn’t feel good, nor is it useful. In this episode, I explain an easy and powerful tool that helps you to look at the positive (along with the negative) possibilities of any circumstance or situation.

Our brains, many times, tend to automatically look at the negative. In divorce, it's easy to focus on the things that went poorly in the past, are going poorly now, and will go poorly in the future. It’s like an automatic default or negative bias that takes us there without us even realizing it. Giving equal airtime on the positive can make a huge different in your life and propel you to the results you want.

If you want to have a more positive outlook at life, listen to this episode and try it out yourself. Enjoy!

In the last episode, we talked internal boundaries, the ones we set for ourselves. Today, we're setting external boundaries, meaning boundaries with others. How many of us need help in this area? In this episode, I'll help you define your boundaries and teach you how to communicate them clearly.

When we learn how to set boundaries and how to enforce them: * We start to take care of ourselves on a whole new level * We start to love yourself more * We start to respect the time that you have, how you want to spend it and who and how you want to deal with people

Reminder: What I'm teaching you as a life coach can be applied, not only to circumstances surrounding your divorce, but they apply to other circumstances and other people in your life.

As women, we’re conditioned to unrealistically, in my opinion, believe that when we marry the person of our dreams or what we think the person of our dreams is, that we will live this make-believe story, which includes a handsome prince who will take care of us, a home with a white picket fence, perfect children and maybe one Golden Doodle. Oh and we'll look amazing and never age. We're taught that marriage is the perfect formula for our life ever-after of happiness and bliss. But I ask you, if life is a combination of good and bad, then how is it possible to have a happily ever after? In this episode, we talk about how to have an amazing life post divorce, even when it's not perfect.

Life is 50% good, 50% not so good and knowing that is the key to some amazing days ahead. How you feel today about your divorce is not how you will feel forever -- I promise. So let's dive in.

**We're talking one of my favorite subjects, I hope that it rocks your world as much as it did mine.

I call this the manual.

Think about it: You know this very thick manual that you've written for your ex, have you ever let him see it or read it? Does he know what he's supposed to do in order to operate himself in your life post-divorce so that his relationship with you worked correctly? When I ask this of my clients, I get this perplexed look. The manual is like a playbook or rulebook on how the other person should behave, what he should and should not do and a manual is basically your instruction book that you have written for someone else.

While that, in and of itself, is not an issue, it's when we are all tied up in letting our emotional state be dependent on whether this person follows the rules and expectations you've set in this manual that he has never even seen.

Today, we let go of the manual. Let's do this together. Favorite or follow Your Amazing Divorce* on your fave podcast app. Click here to get updates, tips and expert advice and be one of the first to hear about Doreen’s new online community!***
