The Empathy Rising Podcast is the place for therapeutic entrepreneurs who want to evolve beyond the couch.
I’m your host, Marissa Lawton. I’m a licensed counselor with a young family and it is my mission to help my fellow therapists recognize the value of their clinical skills in AND out of session.
I walk alongside entrepreneurial therapists as they scale their private practices and turn them into thriving businesses. By moving beyond 1:1 work with clients and developing their first online program that expands their impact and their income.
Each week we’ll be talking about cultivating a lighter lifestyle where your income isn't tied directly to your time. You’ll get a peek behind the scenes at my multi Six-Figure online business, listen in on real coaching calls with other therapists. And you’ll be inspired to take the tangible steps to make your online income stream a reality.
Curl up, grab your headphones and your favorite notebook, get cozy, and embrace the idea that empathy and success are not mutually exclusive.

It's more apparent than ever that having diversified income streams is important. Especially having a way to make money online.
And yet, the thing that keeps most people from starting is the fact that they don’t have an audience yet. Influencers say you need a huge audience to have successful launches, but that’s just not true.
You can create your online income stream on your terms.
When you align your side hustle with your goals, you’ll start to feel much more intentional about the size of your audience not like you’re just chasing some arbitrary number. And you’ll also realize you’re ready to start a lot sooner than you thought.
*Want to make sure the people in your audience actually turn into buyers?
Then you need to make sure you build your audience with an offer in mind.
Otherwise, you may end up with a collection of people who are just there to look but will never buy from you.
And that’s just the beginning. There are other reasons why you need to have an offer in mind before you start building your audience!
Learn more in the most recent podcast episode.*

*Don’t let the idea of needing a BIG audience keep you from getting started building one.
If you’re always working towards the next big number, you might be neglecting the process of building relationships with your current audience.
This is your reminder that every person in your audience is just that: a person. They’re not just a number, right? They have real hopes, real fears, real problems and real dreams.
You have the great opportunity of making a positive impact in their lives.
If you focus on service over accumulation, you can make a great impact AND a great income with just a few people on your list.
Learn how a smaller audience can actually be better than a big one in the latest podcast episode.*

It’s fulfilling to share your message and know you can truly make a positive impact in people’s lives. This is EXACTLY why so many therapists are like you drawn to online income sources and side hustles. You are simply driven to help MORE people and expand your impact as far as you possibly can.
I’m going to let you in on a little secret: it all starts with building your audience. I know the idea of stepping on a bigger stage can be intimidating, but your message can help so many people and deserves a stage on which to shine. Learn how you can show up effectively, authentically, and consistently to build your audience in the latest podcast episode.

Nothing shuts down a new and exciting idea… faster than seeing someone else doing the exact same thing.
No matter how much passion or fire we have for the project, coming face to face with a competitor can make our new course, group program, or membership site feel like the dumbest thing we’ve thought of in a long time.
And while competition can cause us to feel extremely small, it’s not that far fetched that we would feel uncomfortable contending with someone else who’s trying to do some good in the world.
We are biologically predisposed to go with the group, not to stand out from it. But fear of competition can snowball quickly into emotions like scarcity and imposter syndrome which can not only shut down our side hustle ideas, they can keep us from ever starting up again.
So what’s important as an entrepreneur is to not withdraw from competition, but to see it in a different way. This week, I’m sharing why competition actually validates the idea for your side hustle and how it can be a catalyst for you to help more people, make more money, and do your best work.

Imagine that someone out there needs exactly what you can offer, but they can’t afford a bigger program.
By creating your own workshop, you provide the people who need your expertise more options in working with you.

*I'm so excited to have one of my great friends on the show this week @Jessica Tappana.
We have so much in common from being multi-passionate entrepreneurs to having young kids at home.
We even both started our businesses by offering "done for you servies."
Done for you means that you are actually crafting, creating, or executing something on behalf of someone else. Whether it's website and blog writing like it was for me, website SEO like Jessica, sleep training an infant, planning and prepping meal kits, or designing and planting a rose garden... done for you services are a legitimate way to add on a side huslte.
Plus, you can take the done for you framework, scale it, and take yourself out of the 1:1 over time.
Tune into this podcast episode to learn more about how it works and hear about Jessica Tappana’s experience starting and scaling her own done for you business.*

*External validation...
We can say all day that we don't want or need it. That our inner guide is enough to know we're on the right track.
But man, I'd be lying if I said it wasn't both helpful and a real confidence boost to hear kind words from other as you're starting something new.
When it comes to your side hustle, external validation can come in a couple of ways:
Praise and Money...
And both have key roles in cutting through the fluff and helping you build an online income stream that is both lucrative and long-lasting.
Tune in to my latest podcast episode to learn how and when to seek external validation to move your side hustle forward*

*Sometimes it can be scary to let go of the notion that hard work equals success.
It's so engrained in us that to take a morning, an hour, or a 15 minute break automatically makes us feel lazy.
And as clinicians, we have an extra concern layered in, we directly trade our time for money. Meaning that a morning off not only makes us feel unproductive, it makes us lose out on revenue.
So leaning into self-care and away from striving culture directly cuts into our bank account. Hence the 20, 25, 28, 32... clients on your caseload.
Many of us are drawn to the idea of cutting back face-to-face time, but are scared to lose our livelihoods.
But seeing less clients is totally possible. And, once you know the math behind shrinking your caseload, you can do it without sacrificing your income.
You can actually decrease how often you trade your time for money by discovering the numbers you need to build another revenue stream from a nonclinical source.
Come discover what those numbers are and why they matter in the latest podcast episode.*

*Thinking of building an additional income stream? Then first you must consider what kind of impact your offer makes.
Why? Because this impact turns into the promise you and your program make to your customers.
I know that promises are a big no-no in therapy, but in online income they’re essential.
Why does your offer need a promise? Because it holds you and your program accountable to deliver what you said you would.
But there is a bonus: it also makes your offer way easier to sell because it’s clear what the buyer will get out of it.
Tune in to the latest podcast episode to discover how you can craft your deliverable promise (and sell your offer with ease!)*

Do you waffle when it comes to making decisions about your side hustle?
So many people become paralyzed in their decision making, especially when it comes to trying something new, because they are scared to fail.
But failure isn't the end of the world. It’s just a potentially undesired result that provides data. Failure is simply something to learn from.
When you're able to make decisions from a supported place, some pretty magical things start to happen. Like seeing choices as expansive rather than restrictive and having more room for play and experimentation.
So this week I'm sharing my three-step process for making big decisions more consciously and comfortably.

How many times have you heard that there are way too many coaches and course creators out there and that there's no way to actually build an online business? This notion of saturation and competition is an often used excuse to make building your side hustle feel harder than it needs to. Because, the truth is, there's room for all of us to make and impact and and income online. If you want to “overcome a saturated market,” you only need to define three things:
*1. Who you help
2. How you help
3. Why you help
These three branding elements are the key to differentiation and helping your side hustle stand out.*

*Some people say “start when you’re ready”, but not me.
Why? Because readiness is the idea that everything is perfectly in place. That there's no information unaccounted for and ultimately no doubt about a positive outcome. Yet, the truth is, you might never actually get to the place where you FEEL ready. But that shouldn’t hold you back from diversifying your income and starting your side hustle venture. Eventually, you've just got to get out there and start.
Listen to my latest podcast where I help you let go of perfectionism and the need to know everything so that you can take a giant leap towards making your dream side hustle a reality*

We’re going back into the podcast archives to share an episode that's message is still relevant, even several months later.
This week, we’re revisiting the idea that wanting more for ourselves is not selfish. What’s going on in the world today shows us just how necessary it is to cultivate a life that aligns with our values; regardless of circumstances that are beyond our control.
As innate helpers, we see how anxious and uncertain the world is and want to enact positive change. Our online income stream is a way for us to be of service to others at a higher capacity, without burnout.

*It's totally normal to feel cautious when branching beyond the therapy room. Nerves and uncertainty are part of the journey.
But, if your heart is set on having a side hustle, you deserve the opportunity to succeed - even when it's a little scary sometimes.
My guest this week talk all about this in a very special episode. Kelly Higdon of the dynamic Kelly and Miranda duo shares her own encounters with risk and failure and how both have led to her massive success today. Did you know the founders of Zynnyme weren’t actually friends before they partnered? Kelly had to be convinced to join a business partnership with her former coach, but I for one am so glad she did, because her wisdom is PURE GOLD. And together, she and Miranda have built a truly impactful business for therapeutic entreprenuers.
We dive deep and talk about some very specific issues that affect every therapist transitioning to the side hustle life, including the dreaded fear of failure, figuring out when to partner up and when to fly solo, and how data beats opinion.*

*Did you know that my side hustle originally started out as a way of stashing aside a few extra hundred bucks a month so my family and I could take a vacation? Yup. I never could have envisioned it would grow into a full time business in just a few short years.
Chances are, you're holding a few different visions of what your side hustle could be too. Maybe, like me, you're looking for a bit of extra cash. Or, perhaps, you're certain you want to replace your full therapy income. No matter what your goals, a side hustle can support you at any level, but it's important to be realistic about what you're looking for from an additional income stream.
In this episode I get real about some of the common challenges new entrepreneurs face at each level, such as getting overworked, feeling burnt out, and seeing no return on investment right away. And we'll also dive into the upside of each level too.*

So you want to launch your side hustle, but you’re worried you have to have a business to business model to be able to make money.
I’m here to tell you that’s not the case: You do not have to be a business coach. Your offer does not have to be business to business. Your niche does not have to be B2B. The foundation of a clinician or therapist’s work is already business to consumer, so why not make the transition to online easier by sticking to a B2C model?
I’ll take you through some real-life examples of what my Side Hustle alumni have made happen for themselves, giving you the confidence to take your side hustle idea and make it a reality. An authentic, joy-filled side hustle takes time.

Today I'm coaching Dana Belletiere, a Side Hustle Support Group alumn, and Mastermind Member.
Her New Hampshire based private practice is overfull, and she’s on the way to launching her online income stream.
Dana has a new podcast, and her program Help Yourself - a four-week intensive for helping professionals to get debt-free - is opening for enrollment soon.
And Dana is feeling the time crunch.
She loves to maintain flexibility with her clinical work, but clients booking at all times of the day and requesting last-minute sessions has really impacted her ability to block off time for her upcoming launch.
So on this episode, we chat about a schedule that keeps her boundaries, prioritizes her nonnegotiables, and audits her obligations so she knows exactly how much time she can spend on taking her side hustle all the way to the finish line.

A few weeks ago...
we talked about the fact that reflection is the first step in any side hustle.
And with that being the case, I would definitely argue that getting organized is the second.
Whether you love planning, think it’s the most boring thing in the world, or find it overwhelming to sort out your tasks, creating a plan establishes a solid foundation for your side hustle’s success.
That doesn’t mean you need to create a cookie-cutter path and follow what everyone else is doing. The exact opposite actually,
Your side hustle plan needs to be your own, take your unique lifestyle into account, and work around what you already have going on in your life.
This bespoke nature will make it so your side hustle fits around your life - not the other way around.
What’s more, knowing which tasks are most important for your success ensures you use the time you carve out to actually make progress rather than spin your wheels.
Having a plan for your side hustle means that you won’t just find the time to accomplish things, but the energy and motivation to use that time well. It’s about knowing what to work on when and how each action will move your needle forward.
So this week, I’m breaking down the three different types of time your side hustle requires. Then we’ll look at which types of tasks fall into each category and how the type of offer you choose dictates which type of time is most important.
If you want to create a plan that makes sense for your lifestyle, instincts, and strengths, Join our Side Hustle Schedule Event
Has the craziness of 2020 made you want your side hustle even more?
Made you want to be in control of your income even more?
Made you want financial independence even more?
Or…Have you decided to hunker down and settle in?
Even though the two feel very opposite, the answer can be both.
Pursuing a goal is more difficult this year. Pandemic fatigue is a mix of anxiety, depression, boredom, and resentment that is hitting most of us right now. Just when we get a semblance of normalcy something else shakes us.
In this episode, we will focus on how to build our foundation in this uncertain time. Your side hustle is achievable, it just may look different than you imagined.
How can we continue to move forward towards a goal while during a difficult season?
With lots of self-compassion.

Choosing to start a side hustle looks different for everyone.
There are so many things to consider like the type of program you want to build, the amount of marketing you want to do, and the level of impact and income you want to make.
But the truth is, even though our minds go straight toward what this new venture will look like, these considerations are really secondary to what’s best to reflect on first.
The thing to focus on isn’t how great things will be once your online business is up and running, it’s what will happen to your existing lifestyle when you decide to take on something new.
Adding on a side hustle should be just that - ADDITIVE But if you aren’t quite clear on what making space for something new looks like for you, you might be caught off guard with all the personal growing pains that happen when you grow your business.
So in this episode, I'm trying something I've never done before and showcasing three current students.
Not alumni success stories, but three women with different journeys and different experiences to tell sharing the messy middle of creating their side hustle.
I hope you enjoy listening to Nicole, Kimberly, and Cary, that you hear a bit of yourself in these women’s stories, and that you're encouraged to start your side hustle.
And don't forget to Join our Side Hustle Schedule Challenge where you'll make the space for something new without sacrificing the things that matter.
So many therapists I work with… want to get right to what they think is the “good stuff.”
Mainly, creating their online programs and making money.
If I’m honest, I think this is because of a prolific myth that circulates the online space. Which is the idea that there is one predictable way to build an online business.
The truth is, there are many roads to the end result (which in and of itself changes all the time) and a plethora of ways to grow and scale an online income.
This is why I can’t promise, predict, or prescribe the path that will work for you - I can only guide you to figure that out for yourself.
One thing I can tell you for sure is that skipping over reflection guarantees your path will take longer and be a lot more confusing.
Because if I were to tell you to start anywhere, I’d tell you to start with insight. It isn’t until you know what your side hustle what it means to you, what it gives you and what it requires of you, that you can move forward confidently in the right direction.
Because your business is about you making an impact and an income on your own terms.
So this week, I’m asking you to take a step back from so much of the doing, and instead, challenging you to focus in a bit more on what role your online income stream plays in your life and what role you play in it.

What if I told you
you could have a coaching client tomorrow.
And that what's likely keeping you from starting is that you're making it too complex.
Too complex technologically.
Too complex logistically.
Too complex ethically.
Too complex emotionally.
Buying into the notion that coaching is difficult to do alongside therapy is keeping you from moving forward.
But I promise, once you are able to cut through the fluff, and start a coaching business with just the essentials, you can start helping people and making money now!

We've all been promised the dream of lazing days away on the beach sipping Mai Tais while our online businesses rakes in sales.
And while this element of online business exists, it's actually a lot more complicated to make happen than most people think.
Because passive income means we become two things
an engineer
a mechanic
And neither of these things feels very relational.
We all want to build a business on our own terms that has less obligation to a heavy case load, less red tape, and less regulation. Where we get to design our days and fill them with the work we really want to do.
This way we get to pursue income and impact in a way where we’re cultivating what really matters to us.
But is being completely disconnected from other people and completely reliant on technology really what you want?
Right now, it’s trendy to move away from coaching, to chase the idea of passive income, and to completely remove the human element from your business. But this business trend goes against everything we're seeing in the social landscape.
People want more connection with others.
And that is why coaching sells more easily than any other online income stream.
In today’s episode, I’m breaking down the coaching industry and sharing why this business model is not only lucrative, but the most desired and most transformational as well.
If you want to know how to start selling coaching services, I invite you to Step Into Success an event on September 3rd co-hosted by Lee Chaix McDonough where you will learn the art and business of becoming a coach. Register Here
There’s a fine line between coaching and therapy.
Unlike selling courses, a digital planner, or a workbook, coaching can be ethically tricky. Because, when you've worn the therapy hat for so long, it’s really easy to use your clinical ear, hear the potential for healing, and slip right into process.
I am of the mindset that if you are a licensed therapist you don’t need a certification to be a coach. But you do have to learn how to perform differently. You can't just show up to a coaching call and treat it the same as a session.
This is how you jeopardize your license.
Instead, you need to understand the differences between two things:
In this week's episode, we dive into both. Lena is curious about coaching so we cover everything from business licenses, taxes, insurance, products to sell, marketing, and informed consent. We also tease out what a coach does on a call VS what a therapist does in session.
At the end of the episode, Lena has a clear idea of how to distinguish coaching from therapy and how each aligns with her purpose and lifestyle needs.
If you want to know how to repurpose and repackage your clinical skills, I invite you to Step Into Success an event on September 3rd co-hosted by Lee Chaix McDonough where you will learn why coaching is the easiest online program to sell and how to step into this role. Register Here
I hated being a YouTuber.
But for a while, I bought into the idea that video content was king so I hit record anyway. Doing YouTube was an uphill battle as a mom with young kids. I had to be camera ready, schedule being home alone, and then edit the whole thing.
Too often, we can get caught up in choosing the “right” marketing channel for our audience. The pressure of making content can take us on a roundabout path that makes marketing way harder than it needs to be.
The marketing channel you choose needs to fit your lifestyle, while still serving your ideal customer. While there’s no point in shouting into the ether, you don't need to struggle at something that doesn’t come naturally to you.
In this episode, I’m sharing why I absolutely love podcasting and how it has changed my business for the better. I'm diving into exact audience and revenue numbers to give you an accurate picture of how podcasting grows my business.

A lot of us are looking for our side hustles to be easy and exciting ways to make extra income. We want to use the skills we already have in fun ways that aren’t difficult to market and that fit into our lifestyle.
The income stream I’m talking about today does all of these things...
Paid workshops can fill many roles in your online income stream, from quick and easy cash injections to becoming the cornerstone of your entire business model.
What are workshops? How are they done? Will they sell in this post covid world? Paid workshops are going strong in this new economy, listen to this episode see how they can benefit you.

For this coaching call, I talk with Lauren, a couples and family therapy graduate student who has a thriving astrology business.
What's really interesting about Lauren is that she isn’t new to the business world. Before working toward her MFT, she freelanced as a yoga instructor, hosted retreats, and several other entrepreneurial endeavors.
While they seemed a little disjointed at first, we quickly discovered Lauren's yearn to guide people toward deeper meaning unites everything she does.
Lauren is ready to break free from the familiar while using proven strategies to catapult her into something new. I love this episode because I get to geek out over astrology while helping an Empathy Rising community member explore different ways to expand her already successful business beyond one on one work with a program that truly feels aligned.

For this coaching call, I talk with Tamara, a UK based psychotherapist who has a hybrid practice that allows her to work in her office and at home. She has a lot of plates spinning with a website, FB Group, legal paperwork bundles, and online courses. But is Tamara suffering from having, ’too many irons in the fire’?
If you’re anything like me, work is your coping mechanism and you have trouble with downtime. When you want to avoid things that are painful, you poor yourself into work. When you have a business idea, you spend all your time getting it off the ground. But being a workaholic leads to burnout and avoidance.
In this episode, Tamara finds clarity around how she’s running her side hustle. We dive into her ideal customer and the marketing that is and isn't working for her, but even more importantly we talk through the idea of taking a step back and whether it's wise to push pause on your side hustle.

MYTH: You need a fully built website to start your side hustle.
The truth is don’t need a website at all in the beginning. Some of the biggest names out there in the online income space don’t even have those traditional Wordpress websites at all.
Sounds counterintuitive right?
Don’t get me wrong, there will come a time when you need a website for your online business, but for now, you just need to capture emails and take money - which you can do for FREE.
In this episode, I’m sharing exactly how to build your business without going through the effort or the expense of building out a full website.

When we decide to take the plunge into online income, creative energy can sweep us off our feet.
We finally have this ah-ha moment of what we want to do and how we want to do it, so we rush out to see it come to fruition. We go out and make the thing that serves our ideal customers.
Creating our course, membership site, or group program is a safe zone for us clinicians, and teaching is a natural extension of our skillset. But staying in the comfort zone actually delays our ability to serve others and make more money.
So, if you feel like staying up all night and drinking 1,000 cups of coffee to build your program, or if it feels more comfortable to curate your curriculum, I recommend you stop and pause.
Before you spend hours and hours creating your program,
learn how to sell it first.
In this episode, I’m sharing why audience building and selling should come before creating.

It’s undeniable that one of the biggest concerns of starting a side hustle is not having the time. Therapists come to me wanting to diversify their caseloads, take back control of their businesses and have an income stream outside of the therapy room. But they're always concerned with is how much time it's going to take.
Don’t get me wrong, building an online income stream doesn't happen overnight. If you want to add a supplemental arm to your practice, you’re going to have to make some decisions with your time and sometimes those decisions are going to be difficult.
My goal for you is to be able to make those hard decisions with more confidence.
When we don’t know where the time is coming from to spend on our side hustle and what we’re doing with that time that’s when overwhelm kicks in.
Today I’m sharing how I arrived at a 16 hours a week and what I prioritize with that time.

We are living with a lot of uncertainty right now. Life as we know it is changing day by day. As this pandemic unfolds before us we are wrestling with questions, emotions, and decisions.
Most people fall into two categories when it comes to dealing with this stress; we have those who are diving headfirst in their small business more motivated than ever and some have pushed paused on their side hustle for now. Both are valid responses. No matter how you choose to move forward, I’m here to support you.
Today’s episode is a Facebook Live from the Empathy Rising Community. In this Live, I give tangible steps on how to move forward with authentic messaging and building an audience if you decide to get your business started. If you have decided to push pause, for now, I give you strategies on what to do during your break.

Hey, Risers! We’re social distancing here at the Lawton house and I’m already starting to feel a bit disconnected.
I know it’s a bit tough to focus on scaling your business when things are so up in the air, but I decided to put out an episode this week anyway.
So while you’re walking the dog, or hiding from the kids in your closet with a KitKat, you can listen in and distract yourself with a little business learning/fantasy.
Every online income stream… is different.
Each one requires something a little different from you as far as how and when you show up. Moreso, each one has nuances when it comes to income and impact as well.
So jumping into online income isn’t as simple as following someone else’s prescribed path. Just because a course worked for them, doesn’t mean it will work for you. The same goes for coaching, or group programs, or digital products.
So how do you move forward toward a side hustle that will work for you? You lean into your strengths, your values, and your wants and needs.
Tune in this week as I flip the mic over to my good friend Danielle. A few weeks ago, I interviewed her on the show to talk about Facebook Ads and this week she’s interviewing me.
You’ll hear about my zigzaggy origin story, my thoughts on moving from 1:1 to 1:many and the three steps to pick the right online income stream for you.
Listen on the Clients and Conversions Podcast: danielleklemm.com/blog/107
Whenever we step out of our comfort zone emotional baggage is bound to come up. As therapists, we have our schedule mapped out. Clients at this time, notes at this time, family time at this time. But when we add something new, something else has to give.
Are you looking at these obstacles of time, finances, community and telling yourself you can’t do it?
Today we’re exploring the difference between the turbulence stage of adding a new arm to your business and self-sabotage.
Whether your lack of follow-through is because of external things getting in the way or deeper internal things causing you to push off your side hustle, this episode is for you.
You’ll often hear in the online space… that ads are the answer to everything.
Want to grow your audience? Run a Facebook ad.
Want to launch an offer? Run lots of Facebook ads.
While it’s true that advertising can absolutely ramp up all of your marketing efforts. They really aren’t a shortcut for getting your online income stream up and running.
In fact, if you run Facebook ads before you’re ready, you could just end up making an expensive mistake. Our guest this week is my very own Facebook Ad Strategist, Danielle Klemm, talks about how advertising amplifies everything in your business. This includes everything that is working to bring you leads and sales and everything that isn’t.
Danielle is a rockstar Ads Strategist. What I love about Danielle is that even though her entire business built on FB Ads she preaches that they are not the only way to grow your business. You hear me say all the time that ads are a tool and not a strategy. And that's what Danielle teaches us today.
You don’t have to wait until you know everything to sell a product. Sure the person who has been in business for 10 years and always has a full practice has something valuable to share but so does someone who just crossed the one year mark. At every experience level, you have something to offer to someone who is a few steps behind you.
You are smart enough now. You are ready now.
My guest today knows all about making her own path. Katie Englert, LPCC, started her practice from nothing to launching three locations and employing over 20 therapists. And she did this all while growing her side hustle. With her entrepreneurial spirit, she created a pretty awesome resource for therapists by therapists.
I love her product because it can be used as a passive income stream or make it a part of your marketing plan.
Most importantly Katie’s product is helps therapists dive deeper into their creativity while bypassing many of the barriers to getting started with online income.

The Ultimate Guide to Email Marketing Part 3
Email Marketing comes down to one thing: consistency.
If you aren’t consistent with your emails you’re building a wishy-washy audience which leads to wishy-washy sales.
Once you make email marketing a regular priority and part of your routine you become more service-oriented, build stronger relationships with your subscribers, and your mission makes more of an impact because your emails are being read.
Sounds good right?
Today I’m giving you a step by step guide on how to write your emails, from the welcome sequence to weekly emails.
The Ultimate Guide to Email Marketing Part 2
Your branding is on point, your freebie is good to go, now how the heck do you get people on your email list?
Growing your email list is the lifeblood of your online income stream. It’s one thing to make money with one launch but another thing altogether to build an online income stream that’s going to be around for the long haul.
Yes, you’re going to provide value to your email list, yes you’re going to foster relationships between you and them and between them and others.
But the end goal of getting a subscriber is to make a sale.
There are so many ways to promote your email list; push marketing, visibility marketing, public relations marketing, and even ads.
In today’s episode, I’m letting you in on my 3 tier strategy for explosive audience growth and huge results in your email list.
The Ultimate Guide to Email Marketing, Part One
Fact: Your Email List is the only audience building asset you own in your online business.
So why are reviews on Email Lists so mixed? Do you really need it or can you just double down on Facebook Groups and Instagram? If you remember the Facebook Privacy Scandal of 2018 and the Instagram Crash of 2019 you can see the problem of building your business on the backs of other companies. Entrepreneurs who only communicate with their audiences on those platforms were silenced.
That’s the power of Email Lists, you can reach your ideal customers in one place no matter what. The algorithms can’t stop you, you won’t get lost in the scroll, and you can take your list with you wherever you go. Plus when the time comes to sell, statistics show that, while your audience interacts with you on social media, they buy from your emails.
Today I’m letting you in on why Email Lists are so important, how to use them, what role they play in your online income stream, and what needs to be in place before you create your opt-in.
