Question:
For nearly over 10 years now we have had great difficulty trying to manage my father in laws back pain and a few other health problems.
How does one best view the situation from all angles? Am i selfish when i wish for an end to it all because its taking its toll on both me and my relationship? My wife has spent countless nights awake tending to him over the last 10 years. Is this just a fact of life that needs to be accepted? Do we put our lives on hold for the lives of others?

Question:
If we focus daily on dividing attention, observing ourselves, making changes, and doing our best to be better people, can that become automatic?
For example say I learnt to not be angry, to think before I speak, to consider and choose how I react.
Does that then become my new automatic behaviour?
If so, although it's good behaviour, is it wrong that it's automatic, or is that change what we're after?
Or because it involves actively choosing, is it impossible for it to be automatic?

Question:
Is there forgiveness?
In the Gurdjieff work, Fellowship or Foundation, I do not recall hearing the word forgiveness.
How did, or how would Gurdjieff speak of forgiveness? He talked of self remembering, sensations of the body, and such.
Are there steps to forgiveness?
Question:
Firstly is there any specific way to deal with internal sadness, or is it more a very special and personal journey that's different for everyone that God helps with?
Secondly once I've overcome it, what do I become?
There is a fear there of if I'm not hyper-responsible, who/what am I? How do I define myself? What do I become?
Do I get closer to discovering my true self, finding God within, will a path open up as I walk?
or does another personality trait take over, a more positive one?
And again is this something that has methods of dealing with, or is this that very personal journey that's different for everyone.
