Noweyung is an adult day support service for people with some disabilities BUT MANY ABILITIES. The Yackety Yak show is produced in the radio studio at Noweyung Ltd in Bairnsdale, East Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. Yackety Yak is a one hour show that goes to air on REG FM 105.5 and 90.7FM every Thursday at 6pm. This week on Yackety Yak we celebrated our 750th Show. Yackety Yak Show has been going to air every Thursday since 2006 promoting the lives of people with disabilities and their achievements in a highly entertaining show with great music and interviews. The crew celebrated by reminiscing about past shows, past guests and participants.
This week on Yackety Yak we interviewed Amanda Barnes, Banksia Cells Cafe's very first "Artist in Residence' on Wednesday afternoons. Amanda is a member of Noweyung's Colour Gang and is a competition winning artist with her work selected for a place in Vision Australia's 2022 Calendar.
Laurie Harkins was the Disability Services Commissioner where he promoted and protected the rights of people receiving disability services in Victoria. Mr Harkins visited Noweyung and joined us in the studio for an interview about his work as Disability Commissioner of Victoria. 12.2.09

Governor of Victoria, Professor David de Kretser and his wife Mrs de Kretser came to visit Noweyung and join us for an interview in our Yackety yak studio back in August 2008.

This week was Yackety Yak's 600th show, after first going to air in 2006. For 13 years the show has gone to air every Thursday at 6pm. Our 600th show is a great show with Denise from Radio East Gippsland bringing us cake and helping us to celebrate the occasion.

This week we celebrated Stephen Smith who has been coming to Noweyung for over 50 years. Stephen and his Mum Betty came in and talked about his life at Noweyung over the years. Mike Amor CEO and Stephen's wife Vanessa presented Stephen with a certificate and a present as an acknowledgement of the occasion .
Today we surprised Alice by celebrating that she has been coming to Noweyung for 50 years. Mike Amor, CEO and managers Glenda and Carissa presented Alice with a certificate and a watch.
