In 2014, Helen Cooper set up Big Red Rooster as she had for many years been rescuing Chickens and especially Cockerels. Helen did this as she had spent several years working with Chickens and seeing first hand the plight of unwanted Cockerels. After finding out there was no UK rescue for Cockerels, she was about to change that! Big Red Rooster was started in 2014. After several years of taking in and sometimes re-homing Cockerels for people for various reasons, we decided to make it an official and registered as a not-for-profit organization. We did this to enable us to raise funds, to allow is to expand and ultimately be able to help rescue and find homes for them!

The Camino de Santiago (also known as The Way, Camino Francés and others) – the 500-mile path that starts just over the border of Spain in St. Jean Pied de Port, France. From there, the Camino winds through 4 of Spain’s 15 different regions.
First, travelers make the grueling trek up and over the Pyrenees Mountains, and descend into Navarra – a vibrant, green expanse of mountainous highlands and home to the famous Running of the Bulls in Pamplona. Next, they pass through La Rioja – full of rich vineyards that produce the wine for which this small region is famous. The bulk of the Camino passes through Castilla y León – in which lies a terrain that many find to be the most challenging – the Meseta. This flat, seemingly endless landscape of green and wheat colored crops is said to remove all external distraction, leaving a pilgrim with only their thoughts for company.
A rare few do the Camino in as little as 20 days, trekking close to 25 miles a day. The majority of pilgrims take between 4 and 6 weeks to walk the entire 500-mile journey. Though it is traditional to walk the Camino on foot, some elect to do it by bicycle or horse. Whatever one’s method of transportation, whichever Camino one chooses to do, and however fast one’s pace is, each of the millions who have stepped foot on the Camino feel its inexplicable magic and are forever changed by it.

In January 2014 I did a show about Blackfish, the eye-opening documentary that uncovered and exposed SeaWorld for decades of animal abuse, neglect and kidnapping baby orca whales from their beloved families in the world's oceans. The Camino de Santiago (also known as The Way, Camino Francés and others) – the 500-mile path that starts just over the border of Spain in St. Jean Pied de Port, France. From there, the Camino winds through 4 of Spain’s 15 different regions.
First, travelers make the grueling trek up and over the Pyrenees Mountains, and descend into Navarra – a vibrant, green expanse of mountainous highlands and home to the famous Running of the Bulls in Pamplona. Next, they pass through La Rioja – full of rich vineyards that produce the wine for which this small region is famous. The bulk of the Camino passes through Castilla y León – in which lies a terrain that many find to be the most challenging – the Meseta. This flat, seemingly endless landscape of green and wheat colored crops is said to remove all external distraction, leaving a pilgrim with only their thoughts for company.
A rare few do the Camino in as little as 20 days, trekking close to 25 miles a day. The majority of pilgrims take between 4 and 6 weeks to walk the entire 500-mile journey. Though it is traditional to walk the Camino on foot, some elect to do it by bicycle or horse. Whatever one’s method of transportation, whichever Camino one chooses to do, and however fast one’s pace is, each of the millions who have stepped foot on the Camino feel its inexplicable magic and are forever changed by it.

On a beautiful Sunday morning at around 10 a.m husband Guy and wife Jo-Anne's lives would be changed forever. The date was June 27th, 2004. On that day they got the most devastating news any parent could ever receive, that one of their children has died. Their son, Billy was killed when his ATV he was riding at night hit a tree. He died instantly. He was found by passers by who were on their way to breakfast. About twenty feet from the road. He spent the night there because no one saw him, it was too dark.
Guy wrote the book 'Signs From Our Loved Ones: Our Son Billy'. This book doesnt deal with the story of how Guy and Jo-Anne dealt with the loss of their son, but instead what happened about 10 months after the passing of their beloved son, Billy. About 10 months after Billy died, Guy began to notice he was able to take some pretty unusual pictures. Guy found out later on that he was able to take these photographs for a reason, to let everyone know that our loved ones are with us now and always. These amazing photos within the book show you the different ways that Spirits can and do appear. Billy has given Guy & Jo-Anne so many signs. The book shows you some of them.
