Edgewater Hospital is the birthplace of John Wayne Gacy, Hillary Clinton. The once-prominent hospital once treated Chicagoans and Hollywood's elite before abruptly closing in 2001. The feds exposed a massive fraud scheme where management and doctors resorted to illegal and immoral methods to fill up the beds. Multiple patients died in the scheme. By the time it closed in 2001, most employees were in shock while others said they knew some doctors and management were dirty.

For nearly 50 years, Edgewater Hospital was considered Chicago's finest. That all changed in 1989 when a consultant named Peter Rogan purchased it. What happened in Edgewater's final decade now overshadows its once-sterling reputation. Former Edgewater Hospital staff, patients, lawyers, and investigators recount what happened.

When a leading Chicago hospital changed owners, new management did just about anything to fill up the beds. A decade of fraud, corruption and greed led to hundreds of unnecessary surgeries, procedures and, ultimately, deaths.

When the former owner fled the country, city officials were left to deal with this giant abandoned hospital campus filled with medical records, supplies and equipment. If the Walls Could Talk recounts the true crimes and tangled history of Chicago's Edgewater Hospital told by former staff, patients, lawyers, and investigators.
