The track was written onto a recording of waves breaking against rocks made in Alicante in 2016. The tract features Emilie Dentz on vocals.

To rise above the ordinary level. As a river. Or Tide, After a storm.
To rise to the brim. To well up.
To rise gradually, And smoothly.
A fashionable or stylishly dressed person, A jessie, In a figurative sense.
To exult.
Especially music.
To rise in waves. As the sea.
To increase in volume in singing Or playing.
Having the style or character of a swell.
Having a swell time.

We left this track unfinished for months and came back to it refreshed. There are a lot of guitars on this. Many guitars, many basses. It was fun to make....
A short guitar track, classical and electric, recorded on Wednesday 24th May 2016. A sunny day.
The cover features an untitled drawing by Henri Gaudier-Brzeska, who died in action in 1915.
The original is in the collection of the Tate. We'd suggest you go and see it, but it's not on display...

The first gig of the Jessie Boy 5. Recorded at Guys Club in Coventry in 1981. Tracks are Barking Dogs, Morality and Elmwood Court. Encore is Barking Dogs as we didn't have anything else. We'd only been together for a few weeks.
The voice encouraging the crowd to shout for an encore is legendary DJ Chris Long.

Experimental minimalist dance music. Visceral. The recording of Seneca American Indians at the end of the track dates back to 1913. Somehow it all fits together.

One of a series of piano pieces composed and recorded using a piano not played - or tuned - for some fifteen years. We looked to work with the instrument as it was.
An improvised track with a wistful ambience. We played the guitar and organ together and the bass was put down immediately after. One of Matt Rogers' 'Victoria Line Sample Set' samples of a tube train was used to provide an urban equivalent to waves lapping on the shore. The samples were produced for an Art on the Underground project with London Sinfonietta.
We left it unplayed for about four months before coming back to it today and really liking it.

A short minimalist composition featuring the voice of Anais Nin reading from her diaries in 1972. This track was remixed to bring Anais' voice forward and push the organ back a little.
