While Prime Minister Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured the election victory, Amit outlines why the margin of victory has deviated from the predicted landslide outcome. Even though this would be Prime Minister Modi’s first time navigating a coalitiongovernment, Amit also emphasises that this is not a radical shift in Indian governance but a slight adjustment. The BJP still has the mandate to fulfil its promises to its people and its governance manifesto.
Amit also addresses the concerns around potential shiftsfrom Prime Minister Modi’s pro-business and pro-multilateralism stance. He shares how the Indian government might pivot to finessing the minutiae on policy and regulations rather than broad transformation changes, which may yield more opportunities for businesses. As China moves up the value chain, India may also realign its trade relations and seek to fill the manufacturing opportunities from its neighbour. India may also take a wait-and-see approach to engaging with theWest as the UK, US and Europe find their way through the election season.

In light of Singapore International Cyber Security Week, we are delighted to have with us, in this very special segment of our In Conversation series, Baroness Neville Rolfe DBE CMG, talks to David Kelly, Executive Director of the British Chamber of Commerce Singapore. Baroness Lucy Neville-Rolfe DBE CMG has been a minister in the Cabinet Office at the heart of the UK Government since 2022.
Lucy has a broad range of responsibilities, including Cyber Security and other national security related areas, the Conflict Stability and Security Fund (a £1 billion fund that tackles conflict, stability and security challenges overseas), tackling public sector fraud and the post Brexit trade border.
Lucy joined the House of Lords as a Conservative Peer in October 2013 and served as a junior minister in the Business, Culture and Treasury departments 2014-17. For much of this period, she was Minister for Intellectual Property and, in 2015-16, responsible for data protection. Lucy also worked at Tesco Plc from 1997 to 2013 and was an executive director on the main Board from 2006. She has served on the boards of ITV, PwC, Metro AG, and other organisations and has chaired EuroCommerce, the EU retail trade association, the UK ASEAN Business Council and Crown Agent.
Through the conversation, she discusses the shifts she feels are impacting businesses operating in both the UK and overseas, highlighting the influence of the move to the digital on economies and the opportunities it can bring for businesses – delving into the important role ASEAN plays in this realm.

A chartered accountant by trade, Anne-Marie sat on the House of Commons’ Public Accounts Committee from July 2015 to May 2017 and December 2018 to July 2019. She has previously served as the Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Defence. As an MP, she has campaigned with colleagues for greater autism awareness and has focused on the Armed Forces Covenant.

Welcome to our second episode of The Customer Experience Series where we explore how to bring behavioural science into your customer experience. In this episode, Nicki Houghton continues to deep dive into the benefits of implementing behavioural sciences into our daily lives from work, businesses and how we even interact with others on face to face level.
An example Richard Chataway gave is a concept called, The Paradox of Choice, which is that if we're given too many options to choose from, and an abundance of choice in terms of providers and services that we can use. We find that overwhelming as people often face choice paralysis. So, we don't make a decision because we have too many options and we can't possibly decide what the best one is. And if we observe carefully at online streaming platforms and even e-commerce sites, these recommendation engines are a part of utilising behavioural sciences for your business which boosts the customer experience.

Welcome to our first episode of The Customer Experience Series where we explore how to bring behavioural science into your customer experience. In this episode, our speakers from GoBeyond speak to Nicki Houghton on how businesses have started to apply behavioural science principles to customer experience in order to improve their services and products.
During their discussion, it was noted how businesses can apply behavioural science to customer experience through multiple methods that influences one's decisions. One such example was the use of nudges which are subtle cues which encourages an individual to make a certain decision. Research has shown that customer behaviour can be influenced by a variety of factors, such as social norms, emotions, cognitive biases, and environmental cues. By understanding these factors, businesses can design their customer experience to encourage positive behaviours and improve customer satisfaction.

In this special episode, we are delighted to have three students from Dulwich College (Singapore), Rumi Lorenzo Aquino, Jessica Boa and Charlotte Chloe Cretot sharing with us more with their views on sustainability and how it has an effect on the younger generation and future economy. Although a number of students are involved in sustainability in lots of different ways, these three have all been recommended hiring by teachers at the college, which is why they have this opportunity to speak to us all.
The students focused on how sustainability begins at the bottom level and how promoting this topic through education could be a good place to start in raising awareness. These students hope to see more sustainable practices in the industry in the near future and to raise awareness one step at a time.

In this podcast, we are delighted to have Jacob Martin, Deputy Head of College of Dulwich College Singapore who shares with us more about the Compassionate Systems Framework and how it is implemented in our current education system.
The Compassionate Systems Framework's fundamental goal is to cultivate "compassionate integrity" in students and teachers—alignment between how we think, feel, and act as a result of a growing understanding of interconnectedness. So there are a set of wellbeing, mindful tools, which are also used in the classroom, in conjunction with those systems thinking tools that unpack those environmental issues. So it's a combination of those two things, the learning tools we use in the classroom, and then a set of practices around mindfulness, and also compassionate practice which we practice with our students. When they're experiencing these sorts of lessons. And it's, through the framework which has actually changed our culture, more than any other aspect.

However, our Healthcare & Life Sciences Committee believe that there is progress in raising awareness and that we should work together as a nation to make Singapore a better place for mental health.

In this special edition of our In Conversation episodes, we are excited to bring you Abbie Eaton, racing driver in the W Series women's elite motorsport league. The W Series is a free-to-enter championship, launched in 2018, that provides equal opportunities for women and eliminates the financial barriers that have historically prevented them from progressing to the upper echelons of motorsport. W Series races appear in the racing calendar around the globe, including in Singapore this weekend. Abbie talked with our Executive Director, David Kelly about her driving journey, the obstacles she has faced including her back-breaking racing injury last October, and the success that comes with hard work and commitment.
Born to a racing driver father but without a silver spoon in her mouth, Abbie grew up around motorsport. In 2018, she joined the cast of Amazon's The Grand Tour as a test driver. Initially a critic of the W Series, after seeing the debut season and witnessing how it supported the development of the drivers' careers, she converted and jumped back into the driver's seat.

In this special Diversity in Practice podcast, we are delighted to have Dr Sarah Meisch Lionetto, Director of Arts, British Council and Jeremy Goldstein, creator of The Truth to Power Café who shares with us more on a special digital theatre project called "This Is Who I Am".
"This Is Who I Am" an art project of autobiographic monologues by disabled artists from Singapore and the UK to raise awareness and foster access and inclusion. Jeremy Goldstein felt that stories by underrepresented disabled artists from Singapore in the United Kingdom might go unheard and unacknowledged. Therefore, this project aims to be a platform for the underrepresented to voice out and share their stories. As a result, the goals of this digital theater project are to promote awareness and generate understanding. In this way, we may perhaps transform conceptions of disability and build more inclusive cultures. So, while this work focuses on disability, its underlying values extend well beyond disability to all oppressed groups. And, as the project's title suggests, it invites us all to consider who we are, how we see, and how we view others.

There has been an ongoing crises at the heart of Europe. This crises has tilts at many aspects of democracy and independence for Ukraine.
Many Ukrainians have fled their homes and took refuge in neighbouring cities or countries. However, for those left behind they are living in a state of uncertainty and fear for what is to come.
The UNHCR is a refugee agency, and one of the world's largest organization dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for refugees internally displaced persons and stateless people. It is one of the few UN agencies, which depends almost entirely on voluntary contributions to fund their operations. Only 1% of their annual budget is covered by a subsidy from the UN regular budget. Most of the programs are funded by government, but partnerships with cooperation, foundations, and private individuals also constitute important sources of funding.
Every contribution goes a long way during this critical period, and is greatly appreciated by all of us at UNHCR.

ABOUT THE RT HON PENNY MORDAUNT MP
Penny Mordaunt has been a Member of Parliament since 2010. She is a former Minister of Local Government (2014), Armed Forces (2015), the first woman to hold this position, Disabled People, Health and Work (2016), and a former Secretary of State for International Development and Secretary of State for Defence, again the first woman to hold the post. She is also a former Governor at the World Bank. Prior to entering into politics she headed organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors as well as founding her own business in 2004. She has been an aid worker and an officer in the Royal Navy Reserve and is now Honorary Captain of 2nd Mine Countermeasures Squadron. In 2000 she worked in Washington for President GW Bush and has maintained close links to US politics.
Her book Greater, Britain after the storm (published May 2021) which sets out who we are and what we should be doing next, became an Amazon best seller within 24hrs of launch. Matt Chorley described it as the "funniest, sweariest, cleverest book he'd ever read" by a politician. All proceeds from the book are funding community organisations and charities. She is currently Paymaster General and has led the Government's resilience work overhauling how the UK prepares and responds to threats and has bolstered the UKs defensive cyber security. She deputises for both Michael Gove and Lord Frost, on Covid Operations and the Withdrawal Agreement Joint Committee respectively. She works with a large number of voluntary organisations including being Patron of Enable Ability, a charity which helps disabled children and their families, an Ambassador for Forgotten Veterans UK and is a trustee of the Wymering Manor Trust, a social enterprise she founded based around restoring a neglected listed building at the centre of a housing estate. Guido Fawkes recently described her as the "Harry Kane of the frontbench".

On the 20th January 2017, Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 45th president of the United States of America, succeeding Barack Obama. During his term, Trump's divisive leadership has most notably seen America withdraw from the Paris Agreement, trigger a trade war with China and seek federal funding to build a U.S.–Mexico border wall.

The 2020 United States presidential election is scheduled for the 3rd November 2020, for which Donald Trump has launched a re-election campaign for the Republican primaries with his Vice President, Mike Pence.
30 major candidates launched campaigns for the Democratic nomination, which became the largest field of candidates for any political party in the post-reform period of American politics.
The race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination was eventually won by Joe Biden, who has since named his Vice-President Nominee as Kamala Harris.
