Today Patty is breaking down and answering the question “How do I know what I’m being guided to do?” She shares her own journey, and gives herself as an example, all with the goal of helping you go through a time of so many shifts and changes. While we may be full of uncertainties, doubts, and fear, this episode will guide you through what those mean, and what to do when you feel them. “Most of the pain, discomfort, and suffering we get when something uncomfortable is happening has to do with our mind fighting it.” -Patty Lennon To receive guidance and be able to understand it, here are three things you should do:

Ask for guidance and be ready to receive it.

Expect to receive and pay attention to the signs.

Work on your own intuitive communication.

“You may not always know for sure that you’re going in the right direction, but if you’re going on the wrong direction, it’s going to be really obvious.” -Patty Lennon In the middle of this time of uncertainty, it's crucial to place your trust in your inner knowing and follow its lead. Embrace the entire journey – the beautiful and the challenging – and trust that every place you are being led to is in service to you and is a part of your growth. In this episode, Patty explores a common struggle that we all go through at some point -surrendering. Surrender – the act of letting go – holds us in a vulnerability that can be terrifying. You’re having to go of something that’s important to you, that you love, and give unwavering trust.  Today, we're delving into the heart of surrender and exploring:

What does it mean to surrender?

Why do we need to surrender?

What happens after we surrender?

You can choose resistance over surrender, but resistance will lead you to more discomfort and difficulties. Sometimes, life keeps pushing us until we finally find ourselves with no other choice but to let go of control and surrender to the greater flow.  “On the other side of surrender is a deep sea of faith and peace.” -Patty Lennon  Listen in to understand more about surrender, and hopefully, this can make the process easier for you.  Learn more about your ad choices. We find ourselves in the middle of a temporary yet significantly transformative phase, with condensed potential for evolution and alignment. You might notice that things are no longer supportive of your evolution and commitment, and a lot of your established systems and beliefs may no longer feel true. While these shifts are a good thing, they can feel really extreme.  In this episode, we’re discussing the vital messages that have been coming through that could offer us valuable guidance during this intense period.  Here's what we're focusing on in this episode:

The pain you're experiencing is temporary.

False systems will start revealing their true nature to you.

Discernment is your most powerful tool.

“Allow yourself to know what you know. And also allow yourself to accept what you don’t know and take the steps to become informed.” -Patty Lennon  Remember that this is a temporary, necessary period. As you navigate through this phase, you may find the truths you seek and peace in your heart. Always remember, that divine presence is by your side.  Learn more about your ad choices. Today we're diving into a topic that we all encounter at some point in our lives: that feeling of everything coming apart at the seams. It can be unsettling when it seems like our world is unraveling. But this might just be a sign that a system in your life has run its course, and it's time to make a brave move.  “As long as the system supports evolution and supports humanity at some level, and humanity buys in, the architecture remains in place.” -Patty Lennon  This can be a really confusing time. We outgrow the structures that we knew. The strengths we had are no longer working. The worldviews we believed in no longer resonate with us. It forces us to make an important decision: do we cling to the familiarity of what we know, or do we step out into the unknown? Although the choice might feel difficult, in reality, we often find ourselves with no other option but to embrace change.  In this difficult time, here are three things to help keep you going:

Be okay with not knowing.

Let go and surrender.

Know that you are okay.

It's okay to feel like things are falling apart. Embrace the uncertainty, for it may lead to unexpected growth and new possibilities. Trust in the journey and believe in your resilience as you step forward into the unknown. Remember that you've got this.  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Karma is often understood as the deserving return of things you have done, often in the negative aspect. As in, if you do something bad, something bad will happen to you. But there's more to it than that. We need to remember that when we borrow teachings from different languages and cultures, some of the true meaning can get lost in translation. When Patty talks about karma and karmic relationships, she’s referring to the flow of events where we get to examine our life after we move beyond this realm and go beyond the veil. It's an opportunity for us to see how our actions have impacted others and experience the consequences from their perspective. “Karma is not just bad. It’s the balance of all things. And when we put that out, ultimately it’s going to return to us.” -Patty Lennon As we prepare for our next life, our souls have this desire to absorb or take in the pain and negativity we have caused in this lifetime. How that plays out in our future lives can vary. We might directly experience what we've inflicted, or perhaps we'll be connected to those who have received that pain, either through work or relationships. These karmic wounds from our past actions manifest as patterns and behaviors that no longer serve us in this lifetime.  “Forgiveness holds the seeds to freedom.” -Patty Lennon Here's the key to freeing ourselves from this cycle: forgiveness. Dealing with our karmic wounds and releasing the ties to our past selves starts with forgiveness. We need to find a way to make amends for who we were before. We don't have to spend the rest of our lives trying to make up for our past actions. If you're ready to break free from guilt and doubt and experience deep peace, possibility, and prosperity, Patty has a 5-step program that can help you on this journey. It's time to clear those karmic patterns and create a brighter future.

The show just hit the 4-year anniversary! Thanks for being here on this journey.    Today Patty is talking about the 5th rule of receiving. Do your 100%. This is often the hardest step for many of us. We often feel like we need to do it all. Our 100% and more.   Anytime we set out to achieve a goal or accomplish something there is a gap. We usually know how to do some of what we need to get to the desire result, but not all of it. Sometimes the gap is significant. We might not know what we don’t know.   Hear how the gap showed up for Patty when she was in the process of eliminating debt. She did what she knew to do like reducing expenses and making more in her business. She did her 100% but she knew that her efforts (alone) were not going to be enough to pay off the debt they already incurred. That’s where she had to allow the Divine to step in.  This happens in everyday moments as well. We can often become so focused on getting things done all on our own we don’t allow for the Universe to provide help beyond our 100%.  Hear how you can tell when you efforts may be exceeding your 100%. This is one of the things that the Magic Lounge members ask about most often. What does doing your 100% look like?   Patty breaks this down and explains how you can figure out where your effort end and the Universe begins. She also points out where you may be avoiding your 100% because it’s hard or requires courage over fear. That happens to all of us, but it’s not the same as over-efforting. Hear how to determine the difference.   Remember, the Universe is a consistent force. It is not related to your local economy, our personal circumstances, or any other outside factors.   Lastly, allowing the Divine to help you can feel hard. The more you allow, the safer and more grounded you will feel. It’s worth the effort.   “I assure you the Divine is here for you.”   Resources:   Make Space for Magic book   Join the Magic Lounge  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Grief and loss are inevitable parts of the human experience, and while we all encounter them at some point in our lives, our individual journeys through grief can each look different. However, one common aspect of grief is its stickiness. One instance of grief often brings front and center other unresolved emotions and past losses to the surface.   “When our hearts are breaking and breaking open, the metaphysical world, our team, swoops in to make sure we know we are not alone.” -Patty Lenon  In this heartfelt episode, Patty shares her recent encounter with grief, loss, and joy, and how these experiences, though heartbreaking, can also be profoundly beautiful and infused with magic.  Here are three powerful truths about grief that can provide solace and support during challenging times:

Joyful beginnings can coexist with grief and loss.

What we acknowledge, embrace, and express grows in our lives.

The more we seek magic, the closer it comes to us.

If you’re going through an ending, and it’s taking a lot from you, know that you’re also feeling all the other endings that are not yet fully processed. And if you’re going through a joyful beginning, and it’s accompanied by feelings of grief and loss, remember that it can be because it’s still attached to other endings.   If you need help processing your own experiences of grief, or if you want to better recognize and remember the magic happening in your life, you can use The Space for Magic Journal as your guide.   Relevant Links:  The Space for Magic Journal  Learn more about your ad choices. In this short and sweet episode, we’ll answer the question of identifying when to let go and when to push through. There are different signs that let us know what we have to do, and it’s just a matter of taking the time to see and recognize them.  “Just because you’re taking a little bit longer to accept the call of freedom in your life doesn’t mean that you’re doing something wrong. You’re on a journey.” -Patty Lennon  Maybe you already know what you have to do, but you’re just not quite ready to do it. You may need to practice the process or acquaint yourself with the thought. That’s a part of a process and one that you have to go through.  In this episode, we’ll help you answer:

How do I recognize what I need to do?

How can I make these difficult decisions?

What should I do when I need help?

No matter what it is that you need to do, or the decisions you need to make, remember that letting go is a journey. Finding the strength to keep moving is a journey. No matter where you might be on this road, know that it’s okay. You’re okay where you are. So be kind to yourself and give yourself the space to go through your journey.  Relevant Links:  Prayer of Light  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

In this episode, we’re continuing our discussion about help from the other side of the veil. Today we’re talking about our Council of Elders. Returning to the show is Patty’s good friend and mentor, Deana Paqua.  Deana is a teacher and practitioner of cross-cultural energy medicine, contemporary shamanism, a reiki master teacher, licensed massage therapist, family herbalism practitioner, flower essence practitioner, ordained minister, and certified tarot reader.  “One of the greatest gifts I’ve discovered is the more help, the better.” - Deana Paqua  In this episode Deana shares:

What is the Council of Elders?

Who can we have on our Council?

How can we meet our Council?

We want to encourage you to connect with your own council. They can help you and guide you in so many ways, like through a time of transition and change. They provide wisdom that you might not have access to otherwise.  “Our own ancestors, even our past life ancestors, they are the spirits that really want us to succeed the most.” - Deana Paqua  While it would be helpful to have someone guide you through meeting your Council, you don’t need anyone else to be able to work with them. You can do it yourself as long as you’re open to it. Set the intention. Take the time to clear yourself, your space, and your mind. Pay attention to everything around you, and you’ll see the signs and messages being left for you.  Relevant Links:  Unleash Your Magic: two-day live virtual event  Energy Upgrade Program  Connect with Deana Paqua:  Website  Facebook  Instagram  YouTube  Learn more about your ad choices. In this episode, we dive into the fascinating realm of spirit guides. Our guest, Whitney McNeill shares her extensive knowledge and guides us through this topic. Whitney is a Certified Medium, Reiki Master-Teacher, and Spiritual Mentor. She’s the owner of the 6-figure business Messenger of Spirit, and has developed her own program called the Intuition Abundance Academy. Through her signature framework, the 4 Intuitive Languages™, she empowers her students to tap into their intuitive guidance and make aligned decisions toward their life purpose. “Our guides do know what we need to do. They’re there to help us. We just need to lean into that trust.” - Whitney McNeill The topic of spirit guides comes with a lot of questions. Here are three that Whitney answers in this episode:

How do we recognize our spirit guides?

How do we talk to our spirit guides?

How do we start a relationship with our spirit guides?

Spirit guides come as helpers with an understanding of what it means to be human. They’re there to guide us, give us a nudge in the right direction, and offer help in various ways. Because they know what it’s like to be human, they have more human characteristics and personalities. A lot of times, especially when we’re just starting to intentionally communicate with our guides, it can be difficult to differentiate our own thoughts from the words of our guides. We tend to doubt ourselves and the messages we’re receiving. This episode can be your starting point to help you navigate these questions and uncertainties. “The more you train your energy to recognize the subtleties of energy, the easier it’s going to be for you.” - Whitney McNeill For additional resources, you can take Whitney’s Intuitive Language Quiz and check out her Oracle cards. These valuable tools can enhance your ability to communicate with your guides and deepen your spiritual connection.  Relevant Links: Quiz - What's Your Intuitive Language®?  Messenger of Spirit Oracle Cards

Have you ever felt like you can't keep up with the constant flow of information and stimulation in the world? If so, you're not alone. In this fast-paced, constantly connected world, it's easy to get overwhelmed and even burn out. But what if there was a way to find calm during the chaos? What if there was a way to find meaning and purpose in a world that often feels meaningless? Enter Mark Hawkins. In his research, Mark focuses on interdisciplinary understandings of meaning and purpose as they relate to human wellbeing. He is the author of The Power of Why: Boredom is Essential for Creating a Meaningful Life and The Mismatched Human: Our Fight for Meaningful Existence. In this episode, Mark shares his insights on the importance of boredom in finding meaning and purpose in our lives. He also offers tips on how to create space for boredom in our constantly connected world. If you're feeling lost or adrift in the world, this episode is for you. Tune in to learn how to create a more meaningful life.  1. Allow yourself to be bored as a way of reducing the amount of engagement that our brain is getting.  This can be done by simply staring into space or looking at magazines instead of looking at a screen when you have free time. Doing this on a regular basis can help you to find more meaning in your life and to better understand your own thoughts and emotions.  2. Boredom is a space for reflection, for finding meaning and purpose.  It can be a difficult emotion to deal with, as it can bring up a lot of fears and anxieties. However, it can help us get to know ourselves better.  3. Boredom can help us to experience the things that have meaning in our life and identify the ones that aren’t as meaningful.   This means sitting with the restlessness and discomfort that boredom brings up, and acclimatizing ourselves to it. Doing this on a regular basis can help us to find more sustainable meaning in our lives, rather than always chasing the new and exciting.  In a world that is constantly moving and constantly connected, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed and even burnt out. However, as Mark points out, there is value in boredom. Boredom allows for reflection and finding meaning and purpose.   Connect with Mark:   Instagram: @coldnoodlecreative  Facebook: @coldnoodlecreative  Website: coldnoodlecreative.com  The Mismatched Human  The Power of Boredom  Learn more about your ad choices. In this episode, Patty talks with Katie, the Founder & CEO of the recently launched MindBodySoulMarket.com, an online marketplace with products, classes, and services from exceptional vendors to empower the collective on their wellness & spiritual journeys.  As a retail tech expert with 2 decades of experience at a Fortune 100 retailer, she has learned career success and a picture-perfect life doesn’t always translate into a thriving soul.   Today, Katie shares when her life a few years ago looked perfect and pretty from the outside, but inside it was all falling apart, and how that was a start to her spiritual journey. She talks about her corporate career and the realization that she did not want to stay there, trapped in a small box. Katie recalls how she continued her job while starting MindBodySoulMarket and what led to her decision to eventually leave employment to be a full-time entrepreneur.  Like all of us, Katie has had moments when she shut herself down and asked “Who am I to do this big, glorious thing?” yet she learned to be in a space where she now trusts her inner voice 99% of the time.  This episode is a lesson on trusting your intuition, living with integrity, and not letting ourselves get in our own way.  Connect with Katie:  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mindbodysoulmarket/  Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.ph/mindbodysoulmarket/  Link to her offer: https://mindbodysoulmarket.com/awaken-the-divine/  Learn more about your ad choices. Today, Patty talks with Becky Karush, the founder of Read to Me Literary Arts, a writing school where writers learn to dazzle themselves and us with fresh, brilliant writing.   In this episode, Becky shares her experience in starting Read to Me and realizes how reading stories to her son might have influenced it.  Becky also shares her experience writing her book so far, how she knew that it was time to write simply from a physical feeling, by experiencing a sense of groundedness and joy. Her book starts with a time-traveling character and writing to see who this character becomes as she goes through her journey, letting the plot and the story develop naturally.  Becky talks about what she has seen over and over again in her writing salons: the deep fear and cultural messaging telling aspiring writers “No,” “you can’t,” and “you shouldn’t.” Having a community of writers and constant encouragement helps. A safe space where smart, inspired writers can feel encouraged and empowered to write.  This episode is a conversation on stories, doubts, living on the edge of vulnerability, and the encouragement you need to foster that “fluff” inside you to let it grow into a garden.  Connect with Becky:  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/readtomeliteraryarts/  4 Free Writing Meditations: https://www.readtomeliteraryarts.com/setsail.  Link to interview with Suzanne Kingsbury: https://www.pattylennon.com/brain-science-gateless-writing/  Learn more about your ad choices. Patty Lennon helps people who are stuck and feeling left behind to find the flow of their own soul's journey and on today's episode she's sharing the new Receiving School components.  "Change is the essence of evolution and this planet is evolving. This vibration of this planet is shifting upwards."  Today Patty is sharing the changes going on at the Receiving School. The Receiving School is a program that helps people open up to receive all the gifts the universe has for us. The pace of the receiving school has changed. Previously, it was an eight-week program that moved quickly. But now it will be a yearlong experience!  All humanity is in the process of change. The changes Patty is making to the Receiving School are a reflection of something bigger happening in the world. Change is the essence of evolution, and this planet is evolving. The more we step into the flow of where we are being called, the easier the next months and years are going to be. People need to shift into a gentler pace when they make choices for themselves.  This year, the Receiving School is going to be open for a full year instead of just a couple of months a year. The 8-week window didn't give Patty the ability to help participants who want to go deeper into their receiving practice.  Patty will have other experts who will also help facilitate our receiving muscles. She noticed in the past that some people needed other types of healing as they did the Receiving School process. Now with a single investment a number of other resources will be included. EFT with Victoria Cryder, Deana Paqua a shamanic practitioner and healer will lead energy clearing sessions. Lynn Trotta will be offering seasonal ceremonies to help us connect with the earth plane.  These changes and shifts are what Patty didn't even dream of when she first opened the doors to the Receiving School. She's thrilled to have these additional options and resources to the community.  Join the Receiving School - Scholarships Available   Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

In today's episode Patty continues the conversation on manifesting and how to bring things into our lives. She delves into the topic of letting go of limiting beliefs and how this can be a difficult task, especially when those beliefs are hidden in the shadows.   Here are the steps you need to follow:  1. You can't always control what happens, but you can control how you react to it.  In order to let go of a limiting belief, you first need to be aware of it. Once you are aware of the belief, you can begin to question it. Why do you believe this? Is there evidence to support it? If not, begin to let go of the belief. This may be a difficult process, but it is necessary in order to move forward.  2. Trust that the universe has your back and knows what's best for you.  When you trust that the universe has your back and knows what's best for you, it means that you have faith that things will work out for the best, even if you can't see how they will at the moment. It means letting go of the need to control everything and allowing yourself to be open to what comes your way. This can be a scary step, but it's important to remember that you are always supported, even when things seem uncertain.  3. Be willing to let go of what's not working, even if it's scary.  This may be a process that happens over time. You may find that you have to let go of the belief multiple times before it is truly gone. But each time you let it go, it will get easier and easier.  Manifesting for Grownups  Releasing Resistance    Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Patty shares a personal story that came up when she was looking forward to celebrating her 20th wedding anniversary. A big takeaway is that what she received in life, was so much better than what she’d imagined as a young girl.   We put so much pressure on ourselves to know what the perfect life looks like, or what we want to manifest, when what we need to realize is that the place we’re going is so beyond what we can imagine.   We can get lost inside the need to have certain gaps filled instead of waiting for what is best for us. When you are manifesting, it’s important to remember that what comes into our life is always what is in our best interest.   What would it feel like to get better than what you can imagine?   Holding the desire while handing it over to the divine is how you can receive more and better than you can even see right now. If you feel like you’re doing it “wrong” Patty wants you to know that’s not true.   She’s hosting a free event to help you understand what manifestation really looks like in just 15 minutes a day!   This is the first time she’s done this outside her membership so join Patty to take the mystery out of manifestation.

Patty is talking with Lou Bortone, a pioneer and thought leader in the video space since the launch of YouTube in 2005. He’s helped thousands of entrepreneurs and companies create and leverage online video to build their brands and dramatically grow their revenues.  Prior to his industry leading work in online video marketing, Lou spent over 20 years as a marketing executive in the television and entertainment industries, including stints as National Promotion Manager for E! Entertainment Television and Senior Vice President of Marketing for Fox Family Worldwide in Los Angeles.    Lou exemplifies what it means to have a growth mindset.   He shares how he was a “closet-woo” person early on, and now he is very comfortable with the woo aspect of life, including receiving.   Lou recently reached out to Patty when things were not working for him. His instinct was to do more so when Patty said to take a month away, he was skeptical, but he did it anyway. He went to a cabin in the woods with no internet or phone. He took notebooks for journaling and gave himself some space.   How did it go? Lou says, “life changing!”   Lou’s advice for those who aren’t sure about things like talking to your guides is to trust the process. It’s the best way to open yourself up to possibilities. He calls it a conspiracy of goodness.   He also shares that you have to be willing to be seen, to step into your power. He shares how embracing the process is a great approach for growing your confidence on video.   His advice is to not die with your story (or music or art or ideas) inside you. Patty is doing something a bit different on this episode.   Something that the Magic Lounge members mention and one of the things that comes up in the Receiving School most often is “not knowing.”   Not knowing what you need.   Not knowing what your 100% looks like.   Not knowing if your sign was really a sign.   Not knowing is something that comes up when we don’t take time to be still, listen and trust what our intuition is telling us.   So today, follow Patty’s breathing exercise and just be.    For insights get your Space for Magic Oracle Cards   Learn more about your ad choices. Today’s podcast is about parenting. Patty is sharing her philosophy specifically as it relates to the 100% rule. As a mom, knowing when she’s done her 100% and surrendering the rest is something she continues to work on.   If you are a mom (or dad) you already understand that you can’t parent all kids the same way. Different kids need different guidance and support and that’s true for Patty too.   Let children see for themselves what is possible. It’s important that as a parent you accept your child as they are. This has opened up space with both kids, by creating awareness of what’s possible and allowing them to share how Patty can best support them.   “You know that you’re doing more than your 100% when you feel like you are pushing a boulder up a hill.”   Most of the time when we get to the 100% space and it’s time to let go, we feel fear. The illusion of control is what makes us feel strong, so letting go and bring up all kinds of doubts.   Remember, the Divine loves your kids and has their back. They have their own helpers in life just like we do. When it’s time to surrender (after doing your 100%) remember that others can and will step in to help.   Hear how to fully let go, understanding it’s for your highest good. This is the part that trips us up the most.   When we see our child hurting because they’ve made a bad decision or are struggling to choose differently, it brings pain to us as parents. That’s a good time to look at the pain to see if it’s about more than what is happening with your child.   When you heal something in yourself, it helps everyone in your family. Everything that happens can be something that leads to helping your kids and helping yourself.     Resources:   Get Patty’s guide to help you see the signs!  Learn more about your ad choices. Suzanne Kingsbury is here! She’s an award-winning best-selling author and the Founder of Gateless Writing Inc., a worldwide literary arts organization based on ancient Zen and cutting-edge creative brain science that brings writers, creative and business leaders to their highest level of Innovation and productivity.   What is the Gateless Writing process?   Suzanne explains what it isn’t first and how she came to understand the brain science behind Gateless Writing. Hear how she went from being a successful writer to being a blocked writer when she tried the conventional method of writer education.   We learn better (and write better) when we come from a positive place. Criticism can lead to blocks and crippling doubt. We’ve been told what isn’t working as a way to learn instead of what IS working.   The Gateless Writing method is focusing on what is right. What’s good? What are you doing well? That helps you focus on what’s going well and allows you to grow from there.   Gateless has also helped people improve all aspects of their lives. When we focus on what’s good, what’s working well, everything that is good begins to come along with you and what’s not good falls away.   Hear how Suzanne describes how the Gateless concept came to her. It’s so inspiring. Realizing there are no gates, there’s nothing stopping us from taking next steps.   People are craving change but get stuck because they can’t see the big picture. They don’t know what to do to make the desired change. In our culture we look backwards for assurances which isn’t helpful. The pragmatist acknowledges what is required to make a change and strategizes to make it possible.    Look toward the pieces of your life that bring you joy. Start there. Identify a bridge that helps you get from where you are now to where you want to be. Suzanne shares a great example of this.   Hear how to learn the methodology to become Gateless. This is something that anyone can do if there is a desire to stop self-criticizing.   Start with a small step.   What’s working?   Where do I need resources?   Who can I ask for help?   Connect with Suzanne   FB: https://www.facebook.com/suzanne.d.kingsbury  Connect with Suzanne on Instagram  Read to Me Podcast   Learn more about your ad choices.

Today’s show is for you if magic feels elusive or the messages from Spirit don’t seem to show up. Patty shares that we often have a plan to get from A to B. As we get moving, sometimes we find ourselves on a different path and instead of being open we resist and try to force the path to move to what we expected.   Are you willing to see what’s right in front of you?   Hear how this has shown up in Patty’s life. Hint: it’s about feeling worthy. When we feel that we are the problem, it’s a good indicator that we’re not receiving what’s right in front of us.   Is here something that’s not going the way you want it to go?   Perhaps you’ve decided that the Universe isn’t listening to you or that your signs weren’t coming in. Patty shares a few new ways to look at your current circumstances in with a new perspective. This is life-changing!   What do you believe is right for you?   That can be hard to explain, so perhaps knowing what is wrong for you is easier. When we know what’s right (or wrong) it helps us to be open to receiving. It’s always here for us. If it feels elusive it’s likely that you haven’t been opened to receiving.   What if everything was happening for you, not to you?   This is a fundamental shift that can help you see things with new perspectives. Can you allow what is right for another to just be? This happens with the most well-intentioned parents and family members.   Be willing to see what’s right here.   We often want to complicate things. Simple works. Take what’s in front of you and write down your quick impressions. Revisit it when you can take a bit of quiet to see how it fits with everything that’s happening in life. Look for patterns and synchronicities.   This year is all about getting to the truth of what is true for us. That requires seeing what’s right in front of us and asking for signs for clarity.     Resources:   Signs Cheat Sheet   Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

It’s been 10 years since Patty’s mom passed. Since that time, her dad has also crossed over. She recognized how much she’s changed and how different her own experiences have been around grief. Understanding the grief process is the topic for today’s episode.   We are all going to have some experiences with grief. If you’re in the midst of grieving, it can be hard to know how does understanding the journey help with what I’m feeling today?   First, she reminds us that when someone has crossed over, they are really close to us. They are likely sending lots of signs to help you know you are loved. We often miss those so it’s worth remembering when you’re in a difficult moment.   Another helpful thing is to allow what you are feeling and how you are navigating be your “normal” for today. If you are putting forward effort to get up when you don’t feel like I, acknowledge that. Recognize the effort and what it takes to both grieve and be present in your day-to-day life.   She also reminds us that it’s okay to seek help. You may find yourself thinking thoughts that are (for you) not typical. There may also be times when you think “what’s the point of this” when you are missing your loved one. Patty shares that this is normal, and it’s okay to do things that are simple that don’t require a lot of focus.   Like so many things in life, grief is not linear. It will ebb and flow and Patty reminds us that there is no finish line. Grief is not a problem to be solved. The good news is that you’ll have good days again. Happiness will come back, sometimes when you least expect it.   A final thought from Patty’s parents; your loved ones can and will continue to support you. It may not look the way you expect, but they are still here for us. If you aren’t feeling this support, it’s okay to ask for signs and let your loved one know you are looking for them.   Grief is life altering. As painful as it is, there are also gifts available to us at this time as well. Be open to receiving them and treat yourself with compassion as you navigate this journey.   Resources:   10 Ways to See Signs  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

In my book, Make Space for Magic I talk about the law of attraction and how it can be somewhat toxic.   There have been horrible events recently and in the Magic Lounge we’ve had comments and questions about people “attracting” violence or harmful situations.   Is that really a thing?   Additionally, the next thought process is: if they attracted their situation, then is okay or acceptable for us to look away?   There are a lot of beliefs around this which is why in this epiode, I’m sharing what I believe and how I’ve come to understand this for myself. My hope is that it clears up some misunderstandings and gives you a new perspective on this often mis-understood concept.   Using the law of attraction to impact our ability to change our vibration with our thoughts, can only happen when we are not in “fight or flight” mode. People in disadvantaged communities or in an unsafe environment, don’t have the ability to raise their vibration to relieve their circumstances.   What if these people are in these circumstances so that others (like you and I) have the chance to help them? Fundamentally I do believe that we are here to play a part in the larger community when opportunities are present.   If we want to use the law of attraction to keep from looking at the pain of others, it’s often from a place of fear. The fear of other’s pain, and the fear that we have when we don’t know how to help or feel powerless can keep us in a place removed from love.  It isn’t our job to “save” others, but it can be our responsibility to be an ally. Where do you feel called to help? You may be the person who can aid someone else to move out of fear so they can see their own potential.   Did I attract this?   If you are feeling blame or shame around your circumstances, wondering if you’ve invited this into your life, I invite you to look at it as something to be released. When I embraced my debt (for example) and stopped resisting I was finally able to begin to release it from my life.   You can get more insights on my personal journey around this in the book, Make Space for Magic.   Learn more about your ad choices. Does hunting for signs from the universe work? That’s the topic for today’s episode. Patty shares why hunting isn’t as effective as receiving and how to shift from looking to seeing. First, she breaks down what she means by signs – what they are and how they show up. 1.   General signs – These signs show up and mean the same thing for all of us. Pennies from heaven is one of the examples she shares.

2.   Personal signs – These signs are specific and personal to you. It’s meaningful for you because of the context involved.

3.   Chosen signs – This is when you ask for something specific to show up in your awareness to resolve doubt and receive requested assurance. Next, she addresses the brain science around seeing and receiving signs. Our brain often works against our ability to receive. Patty shares why this is and how you can recognize when your brain is trying to keep you from seeing them. The Universe always answers our requests, but we often discount what we see or miss the signs completely. Hear how you can recognize the way this pattern shows up for you and how to stay open. The only thing for you to do is to receive the sign. How do we allow this? Patty shares great examples to help you do this for yourself. 1.   Breathe and slow down your nervous system. 2.   Affirm what we know to be true. 3.   Practice letting go. If it feels okay to you to share what you are looking for, then it can be possible for others to see the sign that’s meant for you. The examples Patty shares will show you how someone else may see your sign to help you receive it. Patty has a special guest today to discuss racial justice and inclusivity, and what it means to live in the United States today.   Iyabo shares a bit about her life. She’s bi-racial and grew up in Nigeria until age 16 when she came to the US. She explains that she didn’t know she was black, until she moved to America.   She considers herself a recovering attorney. Hear why she changed careers and the motivation to make a big change. She went to Seminary and realized that her theological background (she explains she’s not a preacher) and legal experience gave her a foundation for the work she does now.   Patty asked Iyabo to explain how she came to understand God and spirituality. She found Christianity from television evangelists when she lived in Nigeria. It’s a fascinating story of personal faith.   Iyabo explains why she doesn’t agree with what is often taken for Christianity in the US. She is a “radical inclusionist”. Each person was created in the image of the Divine and therefore she says that each of us has intrinsic value deserving of love and inclusion.   Ownership is an illusion. This discussion helps to understand why concepts like freedom and citizenry can’t be “owned” but must be embodied. Ownership is often used to attempt to control or dictate to others. Iyabo explains how to recognize how to move from owning to empowerment.   She explains that we need to embrace shared power. We care about those in our community to have less and we understand that we are not in competition with one another.   How can we see others as human if we are so tied up in our identity that we can’t admit when we are wrong, or when we don’t know something?   Patty shares that large social issues like homelessness are sometimes misattributed by the law of attraction. Example: if you are homeless, it’s because you “attracted” it into your life. She and Iyabo talk about how that’s not the case and the shift around what it means to “attract” things in your life.   Understanding your identity will lead you to understand your privilege. Iyabo explains that there are multiple types of privilege and identifying your own will help you understand how it impacts the way that you interact with others.   This episode provides great context for understanding better ways to connect with those who have different life experiences. Her examples are something we can all relate to and learn from.   How can we make the system work for all of us? It’s a great way to think about what we can do to make an impact in our personal place in the world.   About Iyabo Onipede Iyabo Onipede is a facilitator, speaker, and consultant who curates deep dives into the heart of inclusion, equity, and racial justice. Today’s show is a deep dive into receiving rule number 3. Patty has talked about the 5 rules of receiving before. Rule 3, which is clearing space to make space for magic, is the topic for today’s show.   Clear spaces energetically feel good. A clean desk, a tidy closet, an organized pantry can all help. Patty shares why clearing clutter (defined as anything in your space that doesn’t feel good to you) can help you open to the messages and gifts from the Divine.   Here’s why we sometimes end up with things that aren’t helpful for us:

Clutter often is the result of over-giving. Physical things can pile up until we take time to make ourselves a priority.

Sometimes we’re attached to things that were given to us by family or were meaningful at one time but don’t serve us now.

There are times when we hold on to things out of obligation to others or the desire to do what others want us to do.

If you are carrying something for someone else and it’s not what you want, that does not benefit your energy.   Patty encourages you to go slowly. It’s okay to be mindful as you go and it’s helpful to make clearing bite sized. Trying to do a massive clearing of the entire basement (for example) can set you up for exhaustion.  Many of us have a complicated system for papers and it makes it hard to keep the paper clutter under control. The key is making it simple. Easy wins are always better than a complex system that you can’t keep up with.   Lastly, take care of yourself. Clutter is often a result of caring for others and giving so much that you are neglecting yourself. Having a clear space is a tangible way to feel the energy of receptivity and abundance.   Coming up in the Magic Lounge we are going to do a clutter-clearing exercise the week of July 4. When you tap into your soul do you feel aligned?   Allyson Scammell is a master intuitive coach, psychic medium, and energy healer. Her mission is to help soul-guided leaders, influencers, and entrepreneurs to upgrade their energy frequency to gain unstoppable momentum in life and business.  That is what Patty and guest Allyson are talking about today. What is alignment, how do you know when you are aligned and how can you be aligned if you feel that you are not right now?   Hear how Allyson explains how we get out of alignment, and how to use that as a compass for our life. She outlines a simple way to understand this and how to make shifts for ourselves.   Here are examples that can help you define your soul’s mission.

You highest why

The sum of all your soul contracts

Allyson shares real-life examples of recognizing and understanding your soul mission. She explains that part of the process is our soul’s invitation into discomfort as a way for us to grow and learn our purpose.   Patty reminds us that receiving those things that make us uncomfortable and asking what we need to do with that discomfort is a great first step.   Most of us activate our soul mission when we are in a difficult situation, or so out of alignment that we ask for help from our higher power.   Hear how with each soul “upgrade” we see the world in a new way. Here’s a great question you can ask yourself:  “How can I be truer, deeper and bolder in my soul’s mission?”   What can we do to embrace our soul mission?

Put words to it if you can (it doesn’t have to be a perfect definition).

What words raise your energy? This is a good way to get started.

Get out of your head and ask yourself what you are being called to do (next best step).

Who am I being called to be?

Is there another aspect of my soul mission that wants to come through now?

Alignment brings a state of play and joy.

This is a great way to gain clarity and receive the answers that show up.   For more support you can join Allyson’s Facebook group for a safe place to ask questions and get her free meditation to release energy blocks.   Final thoughts: Don’t forget fun! Joy, rest, and relaxation is important. What is potentiality?   Simply put, it’s the ability to believe that something that hasn’t happened, has potential to happen.   On this episode Patty shares a story about how she recognized her limited thinking and what she did to remove the block.   It starts with a story about a puddle, feeling stuck and learning to move again. You’ll recognize how simple it can be to shift your perspective. Can you hear the energy of potentiality in her story?   What does reaching for potentiality look like?   Patty explains when she was able to open to the power of potentiality things began to shift. Here are a few things that are helping her:

Reach out to a friend, be in community

Ask for help

Be open to something new (or something unexpected)

Allow yourself to feel what’s possible

Use the power of potentiality today! Here’s how: think about one thing that’s hard, or not going well, and for a minute offer to the universe the desire for it to be amazing, for it to work out better than you even thought it could. Just for a minute. Feel what it could be. That’s all it takes to top into the power of potentiality.   Don’t forget - you are invited to the 5 day Manifest your Dreams workshop that Patty is leading in the Magic Lounge.   Join the Magic Lounge (and be part of the workshop)   Learn more about your ad choices. The episode of the Space for Magic Podcast is sponsored by the Magic Lounge. This is a vibrant community of magic-makers and receivers. Since the beginning of 2022 we’ve had an on-going discussion about dreaming.   Not just dreaming, but really embracing a big vision for all of life.   Patty shares how dreaming had always been something that just happened. She credits her current life and everything it encompasses as something she dreamed into existence.  What do you do when dreaming isn’t happening or doesn’t come easily?   If you are not able to dream, or picture a big vision in your life, it’s likely due to a trauma. Your brain may be blocking your dreams (or the ability to dream) because it doesn’t feel safe anymore.   Hear how Patty breaks down the process of dreaming and manifesting her dreams. At it’s most basic, it’s about removing resistance. But that’s if you have a dream that’s not coming to fruition.   What if you can’t even get there? You have to want something, to be able to manifest it in your life.   We have to get back to dreaming; back to reaching for a more expansive life.   That is our creative power. It’s what inspired us, it creates love and calls forth universal support in making it happen.   How do we do that?

Makes space for it (and space on the calendar)

Create an environment where creativity is nurtured

Enter the dreamscape and let what wants to show up arrive

Community helps.   That’s why I’m holding a workshop to help all of us embrace the tools for manifesting your dreams. It’s only happening in the Magic Lounge and I’d love to have you join us there.   Listen for the workshop details and for one powerful step you can take to begin manifesting your dreams right now!    Join Patty in the Magic Lounge  Learn more about your ad choices. Patty is talking with herbalist and author Maya Shetreat. They are discussing rest and turning into the quiet place for guidance. Maya explains that the “age of the guru” is over. It’s time for us to summon our inner wisdom. It’s a way to connect us with community and the divine feminine. Hear how she explains the way all of us can tap into our knowing. What does it mean to be in right relationship with the world? Maya breaks this down for us. It begins with wonder and truly seeing the world around us. Hear how we can be in kinship with the world around us. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about finding joy. How can we be in right relationship with ourselves? We are a sacred universe within ourselves. Maya reminds us that it’s not always about giving. It can also be about nurturing ourselves, while we nurture others. This is something we can all embrace. “The way that we make a huge impact in the world is actually by being in our own state of joy and aliveness.” Hear how to trust what you know in your heart. Our electromagnetic field comes from our heart and connects with others around us. It’s a way to look at how we feel, and it’s how we can deepen our connections. Maya shares how using a gratitude practice helped to create a shift in a real-world situation. This is something that doesn’t take from, but adds to our energy, creating positive vibrations for us and for others. We’ve been taught that things are only successful if they last forever. Maya shares how we’re meant to celebrate the completion of our life’s paths. It’s about honoring endings and beginnings and it’s an ongoing part of a life well-lived. Your right relationship with the world can begin today, with a few minutes of gratitude, time in nature or by honoring what’s right for you in the moment.    Connect with Maya: FB: https://www.facebook.com/drmayashetreat IG: @drmayashetreat Link to promo: www.PattyLennon.com/alive Learn more about your ad choices. Patty talks about how to speak to loved ones who have crossed over. This is one way you can continue the relationship with people you love even after they have passed.   While it doesn’t replace the experience of having a physical loved one with you, loved ones can still be available in spirit, and they exist without all the usual “stuff” they might have had when still alive.   This means they are more able to hold space for you when you consult with them.   Patty shares the story of her first really deep connection with loved ones, which happened before her mother crossed over. She saw the intense effects the spirit realm can have on our lives when her mother was visited by the spirit of Patty’s aunt.   The people who visit us are uniquely qualified to deal with the specific issue that might be going on at that time.   When you call on loved ones, even if you can’t see or hear them, you can often feel their presence. As you believe more, you’ll likely find that you’ll be able to summon them more and more.   Patty answers questions about why our soul chooses certain paths when we’re on this earth. Communicating with loved ones after they cross can help us to understand the course of their lives, and even the course of their illness.   Does this mean our loved ones are only there for us at the end of our lives? Not at all. It may be more likely, but we don’t need to wait until our last breaths.   Even if you can’t see your loved ones, the key is to accept that they are there and ask for a sign. You might be amazed at what happens. But it’s essential to be open to receiving them.   These days, many of us need our loved ones with us more than ever. Trust that they are close by.   If you’d like to take this work deeper with Patty, sign up for The Intuitive Immersion course, currently offered at a heavy discount. Or another option is the free, four-part video series about how to work with your spirit guides, loved ones and angels.    Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Patty is explaining the one change that must happen if you want to become fluent in spirit communication.   That includes accessing your spirit guides, loved ones and others when you need them. This change will also help you understand the guidance you receive and trust the messages that come through.   You don’t have to have special gifts or see visons or hear voices. Patty has a great guest joining her on this episode. Octavia Raheem has received national attention for her work training yoga teachers and diversifying the yoga and wellness industry. She’s the author of Gather, A collection of soulful sayings, poetry, and flashes of insight woven together into a single sacred garment.   Her latest work is Pause, Rest, Be: Stillness Practices for Courage in Times of Change. Patty met Octavia when she saw one of her social media posts. It really spoke to her, and Patty wanted to know more.   Why is rest important?   Octavia shares how she came to rest, kicking and screaming. She describes a perfect storm of exhaustion that required her to be hospitalized. From that place, she reckoned with the fact that her physical issues were related to her inability to pause, to be still, to stop.   Shifting from hyper-productivity was something she recognized that had to change. She was already a yoga teacher focused on the athletic movement. Her first restorative class didn’t go as planned, but it was step one in her path to healing. Hear how transformation happened for Octavia.   What is the value of stillness?   In a culture of productivity, stillness isn’t something we associate with value. Hear how Octavia explains the shift and how stillness is truly the path to being creative and productive.   “When we resist rest, we resist God.”   Octavia explains how she brings a practice of rest and stillness into her day. Rest allows us to leave room for something greater than us. It gives us a space to remember who we are, and where we come from.   Hear how you can implement a rest practice.   Patty and Octavia discuss what it means to rest, and how to be mindful. It’s not just about activity (or the lack of activity) it’s also about the spirit and quality we bring to our practice. Hear how she explains the power of both/and.   “Rest is a practice of receiving.”  What if we all laid down to rest and allowed? We might receive healing, creativity, and a much-needed moment of nourishment.   What is liminal space?   It’s the space of no longer, and the space of not quite yet. It can feel like nothing, and everything. It’s the space in between and unknown. For many the unknown can bring feelings of uncertainty. Octavia suggests that it could be a place of possibility instead.   We can choose to pause, to linger. We don’t have to rush to the next thing, instead Octavia encourages to allow the pause. Be present to the possibility.   Patty and Octavia end the podcast with a lovely call to acknowledge your own pause.   Connect with Octavia  Instagram  Facebook  Website   Learn more about your ad choices. Patty is sharing on this episode how to connect to your spirit guides, angels, and your loved ones. This process, the actual how-to, is one of the questions she is asked most often, followed up by: how do I know if the communication is right?   First, some definitions for terms that Patty is using today.   Spirit guides have incarnated. They have been human and have experienced life on earth. They understand the challenges we have in human world. They are here to guide us at a soul level.   Angels have never incarnated so they have a different perspective. They are much more concerned with protecting us, physically and spiritually also at a soul level.   Loved ones who send us messages may not necessarily be a guide. Hear how Patty breaks down the difference as she understands it.   It’s important to understand this this takes some time. The nuance that Patty has now developed over time. The best way to gain clarity and nuance is spending time learning how to establish these connections.   The 4 Steps  Step One – Clear your environment. You can do this by physically removing clutter or spending time in nature. Energetic clearing is important as well. Patty shares 3 easy methods for energetic clearing.   Step Two – Connect to yourself. Breath work is one way to connect with yourself. Patty reminds us that understanding that we’re also divine and have our own wisdom which will help us stay connected.   Step Three – Request. Patty also shares how you can ask for help, and the best way to ask for answers. She removes the mystery from this part of the process.   Step Four – Receive the answers. Receiving is about both listening when messages come through, and developing the discernment so you can trust yourself and the answers.     4 Step Process Workshop   Learn more about your ad choices. Today’s guest is a Certified Life Coach, UCSF-trained Family Nurse Practitioner and Breathwork Meditation Guide with a passion for helping women realize that they are their own best healers. Her goal is to help women break free from codependency, perfectionism and people-pleasing and reclaim their joy. Victoria Albina is sharing her story with Patty on today’s episode.   Victoria was in poor health, but conventional medicine couldn’t figure out what was wrong with her. She decided to become a nurse practitioner so she could find out what was wrong with her and she’s now helping lots of others.   What she realized: the root cause of her issues was mind-set and limbic system related.   Did you know our bodies can hold our experiences for us? That’s why we get a stomachache when we’re anxious or a headache when we are worried. Often our physical ailments are emotionally related and emotionally based.   Victoria shares how our autonomic nervous system keeps our body going for us. That’s led by the vagus nerve. Victoria explains what’s optimal and how to understand the way our body manages stress.   Once we understand how our bodies work, it’s possible to understand the mind-body connection.   Having our feelings and giving them space, is really important.   Victoria shares insights around people-pleasing and perfectionism, two traits of codependency This stems from the belief that you are not worthy of love, so you have to source it from others outside of you instead of knowing it and trusting it within yourself.   Coming from compassion is a way to begin healing. Allowing yourself to understand that the people-pleasing that was a genius strategy as a child, is no longer serving us as adults. No need for guilt or shame. This is information that we weren’t taught to understand.   Victoria and Patty talk about why we need each other. Humans are pack animals. We need multiple people in our lives that we can go to when we need help and emotional support. The more we can connect with different people, the richer life can be. It’s another chance to grow and learn about yourself.   Victoria’s work helps people feel loved and understand that they matter. Our bodies know how to help us heal. Your cup can be full and your health can be restored by the power within you.    Connect with Victoria:   Free Meditations Anchored Program Waitlist  Instagram  Learn more about your ad choices. Patty has a great guest joining her today. She’s talking with Renata Joy, a wellness coach expert. Her mission is to help women over 50 live healthier lifestyles. She focuses on nutrition, exercise, and skin care to help women feel their best, sexy selves.   Her personal story might feel familiar. As a child, she was surrounded by people who were not well. She grew up worried that she would follow in their footsteps, so she intentionally made different choices.   She was a TV producer working for The View when the 9/11 attacks happened in New York City. She enjoyed her work, but she knew there was meant to do something more. She left her 22-year producer career in 2001 and Pure Joy Wellness was created.   During the pandemic, it became clear to Renata that we needed community. She started a 30-day walking challenge, and it took off! It got women moving and talking and supporting each other.   Renata shares how we can reduce stress (a daily concern) and 5 easy things we can do to help clear our minds and reduce stress.

Breath work

Meditation

Take a walk/go for a run

Journal your thoughts

Get into nature

Renata is an advocate for self-care. In fact, she’s adamant that women put their health and wellness first. She also wants women to be proud of their age and experience, along with our wisdom. She explains that it’s time to celebrate the richness of our experiences.   “Always do your best knowing that your best will change from day to day.” (From the book, The 4 Agreements)    Resources:   Pure Joy Wellness Facebook Group  Instagram  Pure Joy Wellness Website  Learn more about your ad choices. What does peace mean to us? How do we make peace a priority?   World events have made all of us aware how fragile things can be.   We need one another.   Where do the divides happen? Patty shares how she saw this with a change in mask requirements at her kid’s school. It’s not always easy to control our thoughts, but we do have the option to examine them.   We are meant to live in community in support of one another. When we are fighting peace, we are growing seeds of war and violence.   How can we help?   Patty shares that peace starts by allowing yourself to be who you are. Honor your truth. Bring balance to that space first and work from there.   When we dip into the well of our soul’s energy without filling it back up, we aren’t able to help others. Patty shares how this lesson has come back this week as she honors the memory of her family members.   Anchor the light within yourself. Come home to yourself so you can find the answers within.     Prayer for Peace  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

What happens when you think things are on track and then life has other plans? Do you go with the flow? That’s what Patty and her guest Mia are talking about today.   Mia is a mom, a coach and entrepreneur. Once of the things Mia helps people is with their relationship with food. Hear how she mastered the food conversation in her head and how she helped her daughter heal as well.   Find out how you can allow your kids to “borrow your calm.”   Mia reminds us that our kids don’t need us to be perfect, they need us to be present and with them in the moments. It gives our kids permission to show up as their best selves.   Find out how Mia realized that her body and health needed a change. It was a journey that helped her in ways that she was not expecting.   Mia’s advice from the lessons learned from her experience:

Slow down. Feel your feelings

Remember that things really are happening for you, not to you.

Pause and tap into your intuition.

See the possibility that everything will be okay.

Lean into the moment.

Find support when you need it.

It’s okay to embrace that life is a process and there’s no end destination. It’s meant to be a rich experience each day.   Planning is a moment in time, and we can make certain that we are in a high-vibration moment when we are making plans. Talk to your future self and see what she needs in the next 60 or 90 days. It’s about deciding in advance so we can be in the flow.   Website  Podcast   Instagram https://www.instagram.com/plansimple.co/  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Today Patty is talking about how to receive Black History. A disclaimer: Patty is sharing this from her perspective, a white woman, sharing from her experience. Patty considers herself an ally, and someone who is imperfectly moving forward the best way she can.   How do we have these difficult conversations?    If you have been part of Patty’s audience then you know she shares from the heart. Especially when it’s hard. What’s on her heart this episode; how to move out of resistance and into receiving.   Receiving our history (speaking specifically as a US resident) feels more important than ever. How can we do this in a way that serves us all?   Resources that Patty has found helpful:   My Grandmother’s Hands   My Grandmother's Hands is a call to action for all of us to recognize that racism is not about the head, but about the body, and introduces an alternative view of what we can do to grow beyond our entrenched racialized divide.  Pause, Rest Be: Stillness Practices for Courage in Times of Change   Yoga teacher and activist Octavia Raheem offers us the motivation and guidance we need to restore ourselves in the midst of all sorts of change.  Liminal Space with Iyabo   If you are committed to creating a world where race, gender or class are not a determinant of a person’s worth or value, then you have come to the right space.  If you are open to learning, growing and embracing your own personal racial healing, without shame and self-condemnation, then you can nest right here. You have found a place where you can be you.  Marian Anderson: The Whole World In Her Hands  Discover an international singer who captivated royalty in Europe and defied the conscience of 1939 America.  Resistance requires energy. The more we put towards pushing away what we don’t like, the longer it will take to receive all the blessings available to us.   We all benefit when we choose love.   Learn more about your ad choices. Patty is talking with John Roedel, a rare returning guest to the show. He’s a poet and self-published author and he’s back to talk about life, spirituality and how he’s dealing with it all.   One of his most recent poems was about thinking of each breath as a rosary bead. He explains how focusing on his breath is one of the ways he uses to be present and when necessary, as a way to reducing anxiety.   John explains how he writes. He doesn’t claim to know for certain that he is talking with God. He does feel that these messages were delivered to him at birth. They are a part of who he is.   We forget that we were created out of love.   They discuss our creation stories. John wants to remind us that we were created from love, and that we’re part of the Divine. Our world wants us to feel shame about it, or wants us to focus on the things that are “wrong” with us.   John’s writer story is one that we can all relate to. At first, he didn’t consider himself a writer even after publishing a book. He learned that many of his posts were being shared without attribution. Hear how he introduced himself to others who were sharing his work. It’s an amazing approach that he refers to as self-advocacy.   He stills has his moments of self-doubt. He’s now feeling more attached to the work and the impact is has for others. Over time he’s realized that minimizing the impact in a display of humility was devaluing the experience of others.   He reminds us that we are all a unique one-of-a-kind piece of art. To deny that deprives others from your light and impact.   More about John:  John Roedel is an improv comic and writer who did what any typical man does when confronted with their mid-life crisis:    He started having imaginary conversations with “God” on Facebook.  What began as an irreverent way to poke fun at his faith and mental health crisis soon became a project that touched the hearts of people around the world.  John’s latest collection of poetry entitled “Remedy” has been on Amazon’s bestseller list for poetry since its release in November.     Connect with John:  Facebook:  Facebook.com/johnbigjohn   Twitter: @johnnyroedel  IG: John_Roedel_Writer  JohnRoedel.com  Learn more about your ad choices. Patty shares how she’s been called to her inner home. It’s showing up in a few different ways. For her, it’s a mix of missing in person connections and a strong aversion to the virtual experiences. We are being guided to learn and re-learn what we came here to do. Rarely is growth a straight line. There will always be times when we experience flow and things show up easily and other times when we feel like inspiration and guidance has left us. She explains how we can open up to the Divine for answers. Sometimes we have to be reminded to make a shift in perspective or to see the new path that’s possible. Here are 2 questions that may be helpful to you. 1.   Where can I invite help? 2.   What else is possible that I’m dismissing? Patty also shares that we often want answers to show up from outside ourselves, in a concrete way. That’s normal. We often trust outside answers, but the most definitive guidance is going to come from your heart. Start there and look for solutions in partnership with other sources available to you. Our guides are here to show us the way, not to give us answers. Give them permission to help you and they will. Don’t forget that our shadow side is always with us as well. Recognize what’s there so it can heal as well. Be kind and gentle to yourself and know you are loved.  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

If you are experiencing difficulty, it’s not too late to lean into growth. Never disconnect yourself from the belief that everything is working for your highest good.   Anna explains that many of us are waiting for someone outside ourselves for salvation. A sign that the Universe really is working on my behalf. Find the one part of yourself that has a desire to engage. Feel into the part that isn’t hurting, the part of you that’s ready for growth. Choose how you want to feel, even if it’s just a tiny sliver of emotion. Choose it with intention. This is an important time to be honest with yourself. Get clear about your internal dialogue. Within us all, we have all the answers. What is the Metaverse? The best way to describe it is an alternate reality where people will have an avatar and will “own” spaces and interact with others only in that form. Anna explains that while there is much we don’t know, she’s decided to approach this with curiosity. There’s a new consciousness coming and it’s inevitable, so she’s decided to be open to learning more. There is a desire that’s birthed when we look at the things we don’t want to acknowledge. Use it to help you gain clarity. She reminds us we have infinite power and one of the best ways to remember that is to choose.   Connect with Anna: Get Part of Anna’s book for Free Anna on Instagram. Even when things are going well, we need time to rest. Especially after these past 2 years. This is the time we meant to hibernate. That might be why jumping into new things and embracing fresh starts might not be resonating with you.   Patty is talking through about how to manage January in the way that best fits you.   If “new year, new you” makes you cringe, or makes you feel like you aren’t keeping up, this episode is for you.   Honor that this may not be the time for you to be in planning mode. Pay attention to what feels right for you.   Hear how this showed up for Patty and how she’s getting clear about what is true for her. You can use this same process as well.   Remember that messages come from either love or fear. Trust your feelings and allow space for you to decide what’s right for you.   Allow yourself to know what you know. Trust that what your soul is sharing with you is exactly what you need right now.   It’s also okay to honor the losses in your life, no matter how insignificant (or significant) it feels. Take a beat and say goodbye and shed a tear or have a laugh as you leave what no longer serves you behind.   Here’s to January energy that works for you.    Learn more about your ad choices. Happy New Year!   This is a special episode. Patty (as always) shares from the heart. Her time away from work and the week away from the podcast was not what she expected.   This is for all of you who have done the right things. You take care of your family; you are devoted to your work, and you help others in your community. You know there is magic but there are days (maybe even weeks?) when you can’t feel it.   Patty shares how this hit home for her during her December break that ended up being much different than expected.   We know that the Universe is working in our best interest. But somedays, it doesn’t feel that way. At all. Sometimes life is hard, difficult things do happen. What then?   Hear the two ways Patty found encouragement and the steps she took to help herself. She reminds us to have compassion and patience with ourselves.   Honor where you are.   Ask for help when you need it.   Know that it’s okay to feel your feelings.   Laughter helps!  Learn more about your ad choices. Today Patty is talking to her friend and colleague Kate Vanden Bos. She’s the founder of Leading with Intuition, a nature-based coach and an intuitive guide. Kate specializes in guiding you to live a life led by the magic of your intuition.   Kate explains how her work has evolved in a way that’s felt like a continuation of what she was doing. It’s felt like a natural next step. She’s always been in the transformation space and her style of managing events was “letting it happen.”   Hear how letting things flow ended up being the most helpful for Kate’s event management style.   The unknown is as exciting as it is scary.   Kate shares how she’s doing a life review and why it’s helped her make shifts. A key element that changed is her willingness to stop trying to control every aspect. Surrender has become part of her life personally, and part of the work she does with clients.   Hear how she learned to listen. One of the tenets of her nature-based work is understanding that nature and the universe is always communicating. It’s up to us to become better listeners.   Find out how to ask yourself better questions.   We know that the world goes through seasons. Life has cycles that we can’t stop or delay. Kate explains that we can embrace it or resist it. Hear how bypassing challenge is sometimes stopping our development.   Kate talks about feeling like she’s always needed to be more. Know more, learn more, do more. Yet, she knows that she’s enough just as she is. We all are. Wouldn’t it be lovely to be able to be yourself, waking up every day loving yourself just as you are?   Kate’s end of year process for releasing and renewal includes knowing how to work with the seasons in your life. We all have a natural growth cycle. Hear how this can impact your path for the coming year.   Final thoughts: Embrace who you’ve become this year. Celebrate it all, even the hardships. You survived. You’re here. Today Patty is talking to Michael Trotta, a long-time friend and fellow coach. He is a self-described storyteller and mischief maker and he’s sharing his personal journey with us today.   He left a teaching career that he had loved right up until changes meant the focus was on test results and not on students. To find some peace of mind, he turned to nature and that opened him up to a world of knowledge from indigenous cultures.   Michael and his wife Lynn started nature courses for children. It was rewarding work and led him to coach training and the realization that he wanted to work with adults.   He explains that many of us are missing the meaning of our own stories and his work helps people figure that out.   Our brains are literally wired for story which is why it’s so compelling when it is done well. Michael shares his insights on myths and fairy tales and why they are so powerful for adults – not just for children.   Michael also shares how he helps people (business owners and others) use stories and storytelling to create relationships that lead to transformation. It’s powerful!  Stories can reveal to us the places where wounds exist. It’s the first step to healing.   Why myths and fairy tales? Michael explains that the are captured moments of the conscious collective. They were not written by one specific person; they were often a collection of dreams and stories shared in community.   Hear Michael’s story that compelled him to leave his teaching career. It’s compelling and inspiring. Check out his podcast and make sure to get on his email list for access to his free training.     Resources:   Story Mischief Podcast   Mischieavable (Weekly email) The Living Myth Podcast   If Women Rose Rooted (book)   Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life   Learn more about your ad choices. You will love today’s episode. Patty is talking to Terri Trespicio, TEDx speaker and author.   Terri describes herself as a corporate poet. She uses her command of language to her clients to help them get to the heart of what they want to share. Words that move.   Today they discuss a big idea, which is also the title of her upcoming book, Unfollow Your Passion, How to Create a Life that Matters To You.   We underestimate the power of our story and our point of view.   Terri’s take on the passion topic is not the normal “follow your passion, live your purpose.” In fact, she explains that this type of advice implies that we should already know what that is and most of us just don’t.   Hear how she explains what you can do if you’re like her, wondering what in the world your passion and purpose in life are and when they will show up.   What if you get it wrong?   Well, what if you get it right? Terri explains her practical approach to this. She shares 3 questions you can ask yourself to help you move past “getting it right” to embracing what is.  Should you aim for discomfort? What is right in front of you? Comfort isn’t complacency or laziness. It’s okay to want comfort and being comfortable in your own skin.   When plans go awry what happens next.   Terri explains that “plans don’t owe you an outcome.” The consistent thing is that you may change, or the world will change, more likely both. The plan itself doesn’t matter but taking action does. Our attachment to our plans often mirrors our attachment to our passion. We think if we are well intentioned then things should always work out.   What we think we want may not be what we are “supposed” to have.   This is so helpful. You’ll find the way that Terri frames this fascinating and encouraging. Hear how you can get better at   What’s the difference between what we choose to carry and what we believe we are burdened with. This is the difference between luggage and baggage. This part of the conversation is funny and insightful. We get to decide what we take with us.   Final thought: We assume we need something outside of us, but we most of the time, we already have what we need.   Get the Book!  Terri’s Website

Patty is sharing why she’s taking a sabbatical in December. Resting is important to receiving and you know Patty advocates that we manage our energy. She explains why she decided to take a longer time away from work.    Why time off is so important.   Hear how Patty came to feel the need for time away. This year she was in constant creative mode. She birthed a book, an oracle card deck, and a new membership group. That’s on top of her other work-related content. She realized it was time to all for rest and creative and spiritual rejuvenation.   When you know you need a break.   Symptoms will vary depending on the circumstances in your life, but it’s likely that you’ll recognize some of the things that Patty shares.   She realized she had an ache that she couldn’t really place. It was grief and she realized that she was missing the loss of elders in her life.   Giving people the benefit of the doubt and leading with kindness had become difficult. That is not normal, and Patty realized she needed space for herself.   Fear of letting go and taking time away was real. It’s one of the things that Patty was holding on to. Knowing that the Receiving School or The Space for Magic may be coming to an end was one reason she initially ignored the nudge to step away.   This is a time for hope.   Hear how Patty wondered what’s next and how she received answers. She shares the signs that have come up for her and it’s encouraging and comforting.   Don’t hide from what you’re feeling.   It’s okay to admit what you need. Be willing to acknowledge when you need space, or help, or time away. Patty shares an exercise that you can do anytime you want to connect with yourself. It can be easier than you know.   Here’s to allowing peace and calm and joy in all things.   Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Patty has a repeat guest today! She’s talking with Judith Nilan the author of A Call To Crone: Weaving Wisdom With Threads Of Irish Heritage and A Legacy Of Wisdom: The Genius, Power, and Possibility of Ireland’s Indigenous Spiritual Heritage.     Today she and Patty are discussing the sacred pause, a topic that’s been on the minds of many. Judith referred to it as a call to cave. She explains that her heritage this time is one for rest, renewal and gathering around the hearth.   It’s no wonder many of us feel called to rest.   Judith reminds us that we were thrown into forced hibernation for much longer than any of us could have imagined. Add to that the angst and anxiety in the world in general, and it’s traumatic.   We are being called to step into the highest and best potential that’s possible in our lives. Hear how Judith explains this and why it’s so powerful.   We can’t think our way through this.   There is no clear navigation for this which is one reason why many of us feel so anxious. Judith shares how to embrace our capacity to remember ourselves as sacred people. This is so powerful!   We all shine a light into the world.   How can we listen to the wisdom of our soul? Patty and Judith talk about how this can feel, and steps to address the fear that comes up when we look to slow down or surrender to the pause we’re called to take.  When we step into that place of our sacred knowing and embrace the harmony that is in us, scientists have proven that we can radiate that energy for others. Hear how Judith explains this, and why it’s going to help all of us in this busy time.   Tools to help when you feel called to rest, or when you know you need a break:

Spend time outside

Meditate (see Judith’s link below)

Breathe in the energy of nature

Be present in your environment (notice the little things)

Embrace a body experience (to help turn off your mind)

Trust your initial insights (your soul knows what you need)

Remember that you hold the light. You came here knowing that. It’s always been true.     Resources:  Link to Nations Meditation  Judith recommends you review her blogs from 6/13/21-6/29/21 to give this meditation context.  Judith's Previous Episode  Email Judith  Learn more about your ad choices. No matter where you are in the world, the holiday season is beginning. It often seems that the commercialism of the season overwhelms all the other sentiments. Today’s episode is about opening up to the energy of giving and receiving.   Patty reviews the 5 rules of receiving with respect to the holidays.   Rule 1 – Receive Everything   Everything isn’t always going to go the way we plan. We know life is like that. What if this year you planned three specific memories that are important to you this season? Identify them, and plan for them. Tell the Divine what is important to you, so you get the support you need.   Rule 2 – Receive Yourself Fully   Put some time on the calendar so you can be alone with yourself. This can be something fun like a spa day, but it can also be 20 minutes when you take time to read a book, or listen to music. Acknowledging to yourself, that you have needs is a first step to receiving them.   Rule 3 – Clear Space to Make Space   Understand what you want you space to be like. Are you a big decorations person or do you prefer a minimal look with a few special touches? Take a bit of time to really understand what makes you happy. Make space in your world for the things that really bring you joy.   Rule 4 – Learn Your Language   Learn to hear your intuition. Quite time helps with this. You can also set up a ceremony during the winter equinox as a time to honor your loved ones who have crossed. Hear the process that Patty uses. It’s something anyone can make their own.   Rule 5 – Do your 100 percent   Do your part and hand the rest to the Divine. For the holidays, Patty shares that it’s especially important to apply this to gifting. It can be easy to go over what you had committed to give both financially and spiritually. Hear a few ideas that you can use to make gift-buying more enjoyable for you, for the recipient and even for the seller.   Remember, the only giving you need to do is the giving that feels inspired, and natural and in flow. It’s okay to release all the other expectations. Allow yourself ease and love and openness this holiday season.     Patty’s Holiday Deals  Learn more about your ad choices. Patty has a special guest today. She’s joined by Debbie Adams, a member of the Receiving School. Patty wanted to chat with her because Debbie has embodied resilience and strength.   She is the owner of PeopleCan business training. She teaches “entrepreneurs without an business bone in their body how to love making money.” You’ll love her energy and the enthusiasm she brings to the conversation.  Hear how her military background helps her to be bold in business. It’s a combination of community, work and taking action. Find out why her apprenticeship approach works for so many and why she approaches everything with a learning mindset.    She talks about revealing the low points so others can be inspired by what is possible. From this place, we can still make progress in life. Hear her personal story and find out why her honesty about her financial problems helped her business. She made others realize they could also tackle hard things and see progress.   Many people are now feeling called to do their life’s work for reasons other than money. Debbie specializes in helping people called to do “their work” learn how to charge money for it. Her model teaches others by leaning on her ability and knowledge first until they realize what is right for them.   “When you monetize what you do you are still serving.”  Debbie explains why the apprenticeship model works so well. This is a great way to understand the mindset of serving through entrepreneurship. She explains that whenever we step away from one way of serving, it provides the opportunity for someone else to show up.   If the work that you are doing feels like a drag, it’s time to reevaluate. When you are doing the work that’s your life’s purpose, it will bring joy explains Debbie.   Final thought: what are you avoiding? All of us feel the impact of energy. This week Patty shares insights about feeling pressure.   When things happen that feel confusing or unfair, it’s common for us to assume that we are at fault. Something we are doing (or not doing) is the cause. Patty shares an alternative way to look at what could be happening.   When we don’t see or hear the messages that the Divine (or whatever term you use) is sending our way, we will get redirected, eventually. It may start as a whisper, a nudge and when we ignore them, it may be a push or a whack until we eventually pay attention.   Hear how this has happened in Patty’s life and how she was reminded (again) that we don’t control the outcome. We are here to receive, surrender and accept.   What is happening is not happening to you, it really is happening for you.    It’s okay to own what you desire. Embrace it and take inspired action (and only inspired action) even if it feels counter intuitive. Surrender as much as you can and allow the Divine to be there for you.   Patty also shares a passage of the book that is perfect for us as we hear whispers and nudges or even a whack or two. It’s going to help you let go and allow the Divine to help.   Get your copy of The Space for Magic book  Link to book party launch - https://fb.me/e/2VaNfBBan Learn more about your ad choices. Did you know that everyone is born with intuitive gifts? It’s true. Today’s episode is all about understanding the types of gifts that exist. It will help you recognize your own! Patty shares what the gifts are, and how you can learn to tap into them in your life. If you are one of those people who isn’t aware of your gifts or think you don’t have any at all, it’s likely that you are blocking them. The key reason they are blocked is because we think they need to show up in a particular way and when they show up differently, we don’t acknowledge them. Clairvoyance – seeing what’s not there.

Clairaudience – audibly hearing messages.

Clairsentience – feeling the feelings (energetically) of others.

Claircognizance – knowing things that you haven’t researched or been taught.

Clairalience – knowledge by means of scent and smell.

Clairgustance -The ability to taste a substance without putting it in your mouth.

The value of these gifts and knowing how to tap into them is to make decisions that are help you and serve your highest good.
