Fayetteville Christian Church
Matthew 6:1-18. Righteousness is not something we can achieve by “looking
good” for others. True Christian righteousness flows from Christ’s cleansing
blood and our solid relationship with our Father in Heaven. As we seek to
serve God and serve other people, our motives may need a periodic “tune up.”
Love must be at the center of our prayer life (our intimate relationship with our
Father) and at the center of our outreach (showing hospitality toward others).
The “righteousness ratio” needs to be just right so we keep our eye on the
prize and don’t carry unnecessary “dead weight” or replace vital needs with
worthless innovations.
Matthew 5:38-48. We cannot lose this race; Christ has already won the race
for us. Therefore, we will finish this race, knowing we are going to win.
Because we have nothing to lose, we can allow God's nature to become our
own. We are never vulnerable. We are never doormats. We are more than
conquerors, even when people seek to take advantage of us. Our trust is in
our Father. We have nothing to lose.
Matthew 5:21-26. Allow no leverage, no foothold for the enemy. When all of our confidence as Kingdom citizens is in Christ, we have nothing to lose; we may just gain the hearts and souls of our enemies for our King.
Taking our identity as Kingdom citizens seriously motivates good deeds that bring people's hearts in contact with the King. Push the throttle wide open; live a life of hospitality, wide open. HOSPITALITY, HEARTS WIDE OPEN, EVERYWHERE, PRAYING THAT WE RECEIVE VISITORS BETTER.
Jesus powerfully redirects our passions to align with what our Father desires for us. This realignment of self becomes the fuel that God uses to transform this world into His Kingdom. (Matt. 5:3-12)
"Take Up the Full Armor of God"
Ephesians 6:10-20. God willing, 2020 will be a year full of God’s favor for FCC
as we stand for the Gospel, suit up with the full armor of God, and pray for the
Kingdom mission.
Christ came into the world to overthrow Satan’s kingdom. Darkness is coming to an end and the Lamb of God is returning soon for His bride. The marriage consummation, being together with God as one, is near at hand.
Christ’s instructions for husbands and wives is really an allusion to what He desires from His Church. Earthly marriage is not eternal; it is meant to teach us about a greater reality: We will be with the Bridegroom forever. Fight for your marriages. Be as devoted as Christ has been to the Church, and Church, be devoted to Him. Many are invited, few will come. If those on the guest list reject the invitation, others will be invited. The Father paid the ultimate “bride price” to redeem a Bride for His Son. This is no trivial celebration… this is THE celebration of all time.
The Message of Christ’s birth is freedom, encouragement, and hope. The holiday season can be a time of great joy or great stress and loneliness. As the world celebrates Christmas, let’s not fall into the hedonistic trappings of the season. Let’s R.E.D., Remember Everyone Deployed. Let’s remember those who sacrifice time with their families and the families who are missing their loves ones at this time of year. In the greater sense, let us remember those who are alone and have no one with which to celebrate and invite them into our homes. Let us BE Christ at Christmas. We are always family, no matter where we are.
Grace is a precious gift given by Christ to us. In an individual way, Christ sets us free from the captivity of Satan and leads us to victory by giving grace to each Christian so that they are equipped and ready to fight. Your individual gift is meant to compliment the gifts of other Christians so that the Body of Christ can be built up. Our goal is to become the BODY, the visible embodiment of Jesus Christ here on earth. We stand together. We fight together. We die together. All glory to Him who has set us free from sin and death; let us live and die for Him –He IS our All-in-all.
Following Christ is an all-or-nothing commitment. The purpose of our lives is to live a life that counts for Christ. Our own purpose is one with the greater purpose of the Church –to be one in every way through the Holy Spirit. “I can’t do that” isn’t an option for a warrior. When Command calls, we fight. We have one Body, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one immersion, one God and Father; He is everything, over everything, throughout everything, and present in all of us. If we are thankful, truly thankful for Him and to Him, let’s ascribe to the same mission and forcefully advance against Satan’s “kingdom” because we are “crazy in love” with our God.
SUIT UP #11 (Sermon series on Ephesians)--Everything begins and ends with God, the Father of all life. As Giver of life, He also strengthens His Church with power through the Holy Spirit from our very core to affect all life that we come in contact with around us. Christ is the Center of our existence and His amazing love enables us to be filled to overflowing with the Fullness of God. God is able to do more than we could ever ask or imagine, using His power that is at work within us. Our dreams and the Father’s dreams are one. Let’s dream big. Let’s dream boldly. Let’s dream for Him.

"This Holy Temple" -- Ephesians 2:19-22. Contrary to Satan's misleading concepts of idolatry, we are the Holy Temple of Christ, inhabited by the Holy Spirit. We are built on the foundation of Jesus Christ, together with the apostles and the prophets (the Word/Davar/Logos). We stand as a testimony to the Truth and Christ's Faithfulness. Ephesians 2:1-10. Our "zone of action" is personal, local, and global. Our objective is, by laying down our lives, to proclaim Christ's right to this world: The hearts, souls, and minds of people captivated by Satan's darkness around the globe. But to be truly effective as a church, we must select a very specified target group to honor Christ.
Christ came to break down every barrier that Satan has established to divide and destroy people. Christ, our "Demolition Man," makes war against every divisive weapon of hell to establish a lasting peace. Once aliens and strangers, we are made one in Christ.
Satan is clever at destroying, murdering, lying, and disrupting God's world. The Church has a formidable foe in Satan, but the power, Presence, and Truth of Christ are more than sufficient to liberate us from Satan's grip and set captives free. This world belongs to Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 1:15-23. There is an end and glorious conclusion to this war we
wage. The key to understanding the plan and objective of this war is spiritual
discernment. An intimate relationship with the Father, while embracing the
hope that God’s warriors are promised, and wielding the power bestowed to us
through the resurrection of Christ reminds us of peace that will one day be ours.
Ephesians 1:9-14. We wield the sword, the shield, and the sign of God’s
authority. The Word of truth, the Gospel of our salvation, the Sword of the
Spirit is the Eternal Logos, Jesus Christ; no stronghold can prevail against
Him. The shield of faith extinguishes the weapons that the enemy hurls at us
because we believe in our Savior and King. The sign and seal of victory rests
on all of us, the Holy Spirit, Who guarantees that the war will be won.
Ephesians 1:1-8: Jesus has declared war on Satan’s Kingdom. His strategy to
bring about victory is deeply rooted in the Christian warrior ethos. Christians
have been given authority and weaponry to execute His will, knowing that they
may need to pay the ultimate price. Victory is already assured for the warriors
of Christ, who are spiritually impervious to Satan’s attacks because of the price
already paid with Christ’s blood.
Acts 20. Paul was about to leave the Ephesian elders in the hands of God and knew he would never see them again. Paul's charge to the Ephesian elders affects Christians to this very day. We are called to stand for truth, pray for our leadership, and rally the troops to engage the enemy.
Though you man not see the immediate results of what you do for God, remember that God determines the future. Invest in people for the Kingdom whose King keeps an account of everything. Honor the King, bless the Kingdom, and invest in eternity--a message from Ecclesiastes 11-12.
From Ecclesiastes 9-10: Do something meaningful with your life. Life is not very long; so make the time count by seeking God's wisdom for everything that you do so that you may live smarter, not harder. Emulate godly people

Be real & acknowledge God's hand in everything; God sees all, knows all, & enables you to succeed or fail. Acknowledge Him in humility & enjoy life.
Hope for the Selfless--It's an oppressive world. We often find ourselves feeling that life is not fair. Why work; why aspire to goals; why do anything? Isn't there a deeper meaning to it all: and people? Many are tempted to say, "I don't even like people." Serving others is a high calling and being selfless is difficult.
The fifth sermon from Ecclesiastes. Solomon reminds us that there is a time for everything; our hope for this life flows from the nature and character or our Creator. Our Creator has hope for us
No father is perfect, except for our Heavenly Father. Our hope for God's intentions of fatherhood are never lost when we focus on God's character. A father's greatest joy is teaching a child to connect head, heart, and spirit to God, the pursuit of Godly wisdom.
George's 2nd "Meaning" sermon from 1 Chronicle 28:1-7. The future of David's kingdom looks bright, as long as his son, Solomon, remains faithful to God. Solomon is enticed into idolatry, yet God's promise to Jedidiah remains steadfast. The kingdom is temporarily broken, but God's promises never are.
David commited a tragic blunder that led to more tragedy. David's family, like our families was less than ideal. God offered hope by changing the name of David's son, heir to the throne; and He offers hope for us today.
"Live This Life"from Galations 2:20. We no longer live for ourselves, we live for Christ, who lives in us; this is accomplished by faith and grace.

Christ's resurrection, the most monumental event in all of history, has already occurred. We now live our lives anticipating our total transformation when Christ, our Life, appears to take us Home.
"Giving it All Up"--fifth sermon in George's "Seize the Moment" series. We are called to live a life of love, imitating God's character. Christ offered Himself to please God and serve all; we are challenged to follow in His footsteps. The greatest in His Kingdom is the servant of all.
