In the past, I've played games with authority. I've held authority over others and allowed others to have authority over me. But as I've grown and evolved, I've realized that these games no longer serve the world I desire to live in. So, I've decided to pack away this authority.
Every piece of authority that I've held or allowed others to hold over me is being carefully placed into this beautiful suitcase. But I'm not just discarding them. I'm packing them away with gratitude. Gratitude for the experiences they've given me, the lessons they've taught me, and the person they've helped me become.
Replacing Judgment with Understanding
Next, I'm packing away judgment. I've judged others and have been judged in return. But I've come to understand that everyone is having their own unique experience. I want to respect that. I want others to let me have my own experience, free from judgment.
