Welcome to meet a new amazing ancestor civilisation from our continent...The LOZI Kingdom.
There was a myriad of emotions when studying this kingdom, mostly because their ideals of honour and respect is so deeply rooted and shown so very obviously in their culture then and now.
They, like us here today, really revered their own ancestors and it was just awesome to find out more and to see how the celebrated life and death in equal measure.

Queen Makeda's story resonates across many different civilisations, she is found in African, Arabic and Jewish texts as a legend. But the roots are here on our African continent. Books, poems, paintings, movies and many other art forms celebrate this legend, so she had to be a part of the AfriWetu Legend series because this is an African story that has captured the globe.

This episode is my first ever podcast recoding in life and thus is the most sentimental and was an emotional release.....
It is also not polished, so what you hear is the authentic no frills explanation as to why AfriWetu exists.
It was a surreal experience, finally recording and putting words to this study/pursuit/passion of mine that has been there for decades (and you can hear it from the way my words are rushing and tumbling out). I wouldn't want it any other way as this really captures what I feel about our story, it is pure energy. It is our promise to keep this energy and enthusiasm throughout the AfriWetu experience.
