Jacob and Eddie ventured out to Springfield, NH to meet Bill and Mike of Hoptimystic Brewing. We had way too many laughs, learned how they started (during a pandemic nonetheless!) and had lots of tasty beers. We even were treated to some homebrews!
Jacob and Eddie headed to Marlboro, MA to interview the founder of Flying Dreams Brewing.

Bad Yelp Review - Redemption:
Steven B. - Boston, MA (Worcester location)
Concession IPA- Bitter and hoppy. Unfortunately, I did not find this IPA terribly appealing.
Double bock--Caramel and whiskey. Like a barley wine. Nice smooth finish. This was the highlight of the tasting.
Cafe session stout--thinner consistency than most stouts. Distinct Coffee complexity. Reminds me of cold brew. It's a refreshing stout.
Double Mando DIPA--Strong hoppy flavor with a nice bitterness that lingers in the tongue. Pine note. Thin consistency. Decent DIPA.
Park Ave porter--a little malty but not much. But, I found the flavor dull and watery. Satisfactory, but not much going on here.
Episode 268: The Guys enjoy some @hillfarmstead and a collab with @vitaminseabrew and @jwakefieldbeer

Don’t be afraid to splurge a little bit on a few luxury items from the grocery store that may dissuade you from eating out, and act as a reward for saving money and (probably) eating healthier. (The cost of a meal purchased at the grocery store is on average far cheaper than a similar meal via fast food, takeout, or (especially) delivery. If you can afford it, splurging a little bit on a good steak, or specialty produce at the grocery store may prevent you from eating out as often, so you’ll save money and experience higher quality food compared with a similarly priced meal from a restaurant.)
Beer news:
Anheuser-Busch Wins the Regulatory Go-Ahead to Acquire Craft Brew Alliance
The Department of Justice gave its approval on Friday, Sept. 18 for Anheuser-Busch InBev (NYSE:BUD) to move ahead with its acquisition of Craft Brew Alliance (NASDAQ:BREW) -- or what Craft Brew calls an "expanded partnership." The deal been in limbo since February, when an antitrust examination began, but has now cleared a major hurdle on the way to closing.
The approval is contingent on the two parties' agreement to sell the Hawaiian operations of Kona Brewing to PV Brewing Partners, LLC. Craft Brew Alliance and Anheuser-Busch suggested the divestiture back on June 10 as a way to "expedite the regulatory review process and alleviate potential regulatory concerns."
Anheuser-Busch InBev and Craft Brew Alliance will grant PV Brewing Partners a perpetual license to brew and market Kona beer in Hawaii, along with selling it a new brewery with a capacity of 100,000 barrels and other Kona facilities in the state.
Anheuser-Busch has owned a 31% stake in Craft Brew since 2016, but the deal will give it 100% ownership, paying $16.50 per share to Craft Brew's shareholders at closing. CBA's shares ended Friday trading up 6% on the news. Anheuser-Busch's Brewers Collective president Marcelo Michaelis said the beverage giant expects the combination "to help fuel the growth of the craft beer category" in the "competitive and dynamic" American beer market.
Eddie and Jacob went on a hike and almost died. A lot of jimbos were had and we lived to tell the tale.
We did some new segments for the fans, talked brewery news and laws, drank an Oxbox Farmhouse and Shipyard pumpkin at 11am on sunday morning to get into the groove.

Kez takes over the host chair from Jacob at our annual Craftmas! This episode was wacky, went all over the place and plenty of beers were had.
We tackle the annual South Shore Farmers Brewfest. We had a table set up, gave out free stuff, and had people stop by to chit chat. This part one contains Shoveltown Brewery, Yankee Brews News, The Juice Mill (amazing apple cider), Black Hat Brewery (the host!) and Burke's Candles. It's a wacky episode that was done outside at a brew fest.

Eddie and Jacob sat down with Jon (owner), Frank (Media manager) and Peaches (not sure what he does) to talk Pipe Dream Brewing!
We discussed Jon's love for holding surf boards, had a draft of our favorite pipe dreams and played a guess your neighbor's beer game with the team.
This was a lot of fun as a podcast and the fun didn't stop after we recorded.

Eddie and Krystyna join the podcast to sample some delicious IPA's, play some of our classic segments and games and discuss live. We lost track of time on this so I only mapped out the first half hour.
(:57-7:38) Eddie has a beautiful voice on this podcast and discusses his method of drinking water. We have Mystic Voltage beer sitting at 7% ABV. Krystyna gets introduced and I am not already sick of typing her name! (11:57-13:50) Who is the more handsome quarterback? (14:49-23:01) Eddie breaks down a lesbian television show called Casting. Or Crashing, listening back I am not too sure. Also, we get spooky with ghost stories. (25:00 - 33:56) Where were you on 9/11? Bridgewater state campus layout issues and police. Breakfast sandwich spots.

The champion is revealed. The long tournament of 16 beers, 4 judges and a Saturday afternoon come to a close.
We are down to eight beers left in the most epic craft beer March madness style tournament.
We have narrowed the field down to half and will continue to judge it's taste, color, flavor, smell, label, name, look and again the taste.
March Craftness started off with a bang. Many upsets, many beers, and tons of pretzels.
THe guys did a responsible taste testing for this rigid tournament, pouring out 3 oz servings to ensure they taste everything each beers have to offer.
There were tons of tears, tons of smiles, a lot of blood, sweat, and more tears but most of all, it was good sportsmanship all around.
The guys host Selection Saturday for the March Craftness 2015 tournament. Sixteen beers hold their breathes while they wait to find out their seed for the tournament. Placement is everything in a tournament.
Part two of the episode with J from @2NOTbrokegirls who writes for a variety of funny and informative blogs and sites.
J and Jacob continue to break down the world of dating. J's experience in sororities and still being connected to the college world through her sorority, helps bring light to many questions guys have for girls.
The importance of responding on twitter to build a following is something not missed by J. They discussed the good and bad of comments and tweets.
Lastly, they discuss douchebags and why girls date them.
Jacob feels bad about the short episode this week so he records another one.
He brings in long time guest and family member, Allison to discuss the fucking snow, Parks and Rec, Sharknado 3, paying for Tinder and movies.
They also remix a classic song.
Beers were drank and they had many loffs (laughs).
Haim Slides crew stops by to record a cross over podcast. Probably the most important collaboration since The Jetsons and The Flintstones.
Ben and James enjoy some domestic lights while Jacob polishes off a bottle of Line 39 Pinot Noir like a classy motherf&$(#er.
They talk more dating stories since Ben and James are out of the game.
Unfortunately they recorded over two hours with us but we could only air this 30 minutes of material due to privacy, ridiculousness, and respect to the public.
Jacob is joined by a very special guest, "J" from Total Sorority Move and Post Grad Problems.
They discuss the art of sexting along with a guide of do's and don'ts for the players in the game.
Things really get interesting when they discuss a famous scene from the TV show Louie in which Sarah Baker breaks down the girl's point of view in why guys don't like being seen with "fat" girls.
This episode goes two hours so we break it down in two parts. A lot of personal stories about love and life are shared as well as some laughs.
Jacob Rants About The Snow and Raves About NBA All Star Weekend. He also answers a listeners email to answer some yahoo questions.

Jacob and Allison take an adventure down to Atlanta to visit family, drink beer and take in some southern hospitality.
This episode got cut short because the little minions decided to attack us during the podcast. No one was hurt during the hour long scuffle.
So we treat you to a short pod after of Allison expressing her love for Jared Leto and Jacob interviewing her on the subject.
Jared Freid stopped by the Beers and Laughs studios to have some beers and create some laughs.
They discussed how to make it in comedy, performing in jewish temples and the importance of an AOL screenname.

Jacob and James take an adventure all the way to RHODE ISLAND! They meet with Jim Crooks and PJ to discuss what the word Narragansett means.
Narrgansett is celebrating it's 125 year as a brewery. The long rich history of Narragansett is what makes it such a unique brewey to the region.
Jim shares a brand new beer that was being released that day, the Lovecraft Honey Ale.
They discuss the new brewery coming to Providence and Jacob throws some free ideas at Jim and PJ. Ideas to upgrade the calendar and how to make a get away trip better.
Also text Gansettbeer to 22828 for a chance to win a spring training Red Sox trip.
Allson and Jenn join Jacob to discuss, debate and figure out the murder mystery podcast, Serial. They all have different takes on various pieces of evidence. We make asses out of ourselves by assuming. If you haven't listened to Serial and don't want any spoilers, do not listen to this.

Jacob and James couldn't actually record a podcast together so they each did their own 30 minute episode to come up with this week's show for you.
Jacob discussed whatever he was looking at as he was not sober for this episode. Spending the day at home on the couch motivated him to tell some random stories.
James was wanted dead or alive. Preferrably alive. So he gave us 30 minutes of him being alive and pondered what John Gruden would say.
Jacob and James are joined by Allison. They enjoy New Hampshire beers from Allison and Jacob's recent trip to the state that lives free or dies.
Jacob showed James in gifts. One gift actually blew Jacob's mind...

Jacob has a mini interview with Mike Rendini, who is a producer, writer and composure of music. Mike has a great range of music that you should probably check out: Mike's Website.

They were blessed with the Baxter Tarnation, Lagunitas Imperial Red, Pretty Things Collaberation Naparbier and the Boulevard Love Child #4.
A couple of games were played. We brought back Family Fued and introduced a new game. Which band's lyrics are these?

In this episode, Jacob and James take time out to appreciate one of the best musical artists of all time, Bon Jovi.

This was sort of a tribute to Tico Torres.
Jacob, James and Mike adventure to a sacred and holy place, the North End of Boston to hang out with podcast favorite, Scotty Peppahs. You will actually find the origin of the nick name Peppahs and a woman told us to shut the fuck up. Apparently 9pm on a Friday night is quiet time in the city.
You will be introduced to the best game we've had on the show yet, South Africian Politician or Actor?

Jacob heads over to Eddie's house to hang out with Talita and Shandy's. This episode was intended to have The Dolls on but they bailed so last minute arrangements are made.
They started off with Rhode Island's very own Narragansett Del's Lemon Shandy. Followed by Shock Top Lemon Shandy in the tall boy cans. Next we went with the Time Traveler to get a little strawberry flavor in the mix. And finally finished with a real beer, The Porch Rocker by Sam Adams. All in all a good podcast and even funnier time after the show.
Talita may or may not have walked into the glass sliding door.
Jacob and James are on location live in Norton/Mansfield for the Vans Warped Tour. They did a 30 minute before the show and a 30 minute after the show podcast, melted them together to give the listener the best warped tour experience.
They were surprised by the Boulevard Saison Brett making an appearance at 9:55 am on a Wednesday to start things off. We were quickly followed by some Sam Adams Summers before heading to the show to crush Yuengling 16oz cans and play Guess Her Age at the good ole Warped Tour.
Before stopping back at home, the guys snacked at Albertos for some local craft and half priced appetizers.
Jacob may have lost his voice.
This is the second episode with Rob and Bob joining. The Guys already tackled 3 beers prior to this episode so we hope you understand. They started to break down how one could get AIDS, discuss the importance of komoda dragon's being far away, and Rob may or may not lick the blood beer we had off the side of the bottle.
The Guys are back at it. This time they were joined by Wombat Moongrass (or Bob) and Jacob's roommate Rob who knows way more about beer than we do. We pick Rob's brain and learn something or two. We discussed the merit's of street ball compared to real basketball. We even took a few moments to take a quiz about World Cup soccer to see which American's know their favorite sport.

Fun with friends. Not anymore...
This was a very fun episode as Allison joined again. We also brought in Danielle and my old roommate (and friend) Bob. We talked about not being from the major city of your state but it's easier to say that than explain you live with the Happiest Jamaican in Randolph. Bob sells his car to a Jamaican and Allison almost ran off with one, who may or may not have been in a movie about being in a drug cartel. Anyways, Welcome to our first episode of Wines and Laughs because we drank some side wine. The Beers:
Cisco Brewing - Whale's Tale Pale Ale

The Beers:
Sweetwater 420 Extra Pale Ale

With their wide variety of beers from Harborside (a summer sour) to their signature Viva Habanera (a hot spicy beer) to their members only club, Night Shift has a beer for everyone. Don't take our word for it, check them out for yourself.
The guys take part two to a dark and twisted side. Allison and Mike stayed on again for the episode as they finished off 4 through 6 of the beers Mike brought. We had Ommegang Red Ale... and two other ones that I forget right now because we got our Photographer too drunk to remember to take photos. Anyways, enjoy.

We apologize for the hiatus of the Podcast. We missed James last time and it didn't feel right continuing the cast without him. Anyways, we talk about why missed out of awesome casting on the podcast, which ironically involves healthcare and we talked about one of our friend's obsession of Obama. Don't worry though, it wasn't all bad news. James and I (Jacob) whipped out their cell phones where they store jokes they jot down when they aren't sober. But of course we had beer that we should tell you about. BOULDER BEER Awesome labels, cool names and a wide variety of styles from Boulder, Colorado's oldest craft beer brewery. I am ashamed to say I have visited Colorado three times and have not been to Boulder Beer's Brewery. The longer you live the more items end up on your bucket list. Ain't nobody got time for that, all I have time for is trying out craft beers and making people laugh. http://www.beersandlaughs.com Twitter Song: New Found Glory - Boulders
