It's our very last episode! Before we get to that very important end, we have some very important things to talk about! Finishing the drama Happiness, finally starting Strong Woman Do Bong Soo and the angsty Rain or Shine. We'll also talk about Stephanie's favorite songs of 2021, do our last series of 'Who Would Yous' provided by Xe, and then find out... who exactly is our second lead soulmate! We all thought this was going to be our last episode, but after looking at the schedule, Stephanie decided to squeeze in an extra one before the end of the year! This episode is a 'what we're watching' episode, finishing up Medical Examiner: Dr Qin, movie night with SaraG and Park Seo Joon in Divine Fury, and binging the new drama Happiness! After, it's time to figure out what dramas to watch over the Christmas holiday!
The original idea that the discussion of this episode would be about all the shows coming up in December, but after the realization that this is our last episode about upcoming shows.... we should probably broaden that to shows in December and the exciting ones that have been announced for 2022!
In this thanksgiving themed episode, we're taking our best dog bud, Lucy, along on a walk to our favorite area in order to talk the very important news, the decision to shut down Kchat Jjigae. Well, talk about it after a lot of waffling. Its hard! Then in order to shake all those weird emotions off, let's talk about allll the things that Stephanie watched while away. Including being THAT person on a plane, laughing to Going Seventeen and jumping while watching the special episode of the zombie series, Kingdom: Ashin of the North.

(And Stephanie may still be recovering…) This year she decided to record the popular Secret Lives of Kpop Fans Over 30 panel for those of you who were not able to be there to hear it! Alright, so we just wanted to announce after a lot of thought, we’ve decided to give the weekly format of the podcast a try. From here on out, until we hear or decide otherwise, we’re splitting the podcast into two parts. Yes, the podcast will (dear lord, hopefully) be shorter, for those of you who love the podcast (and thank, thank, thank you) never fear! Teeeechnically this means you’ll be getting more kchat for your buck—as we’re aiming for about an hour per episode. Since we’ll be recording it all at once, the format will go like this, part one will be what we’re watching and a short topic and then part 1.5 will be topics. Why are we doing this? Well, we’ve noticed that our episodes are getting longer with less topics. (Apparently, Cherry and I can get our chat on.) So, in this podcast we’re going to be talking about what we’re watching, mourn Junsu’s new relationship status (or maybe that’s just Stephanie), get cranky over BTS (again, probably just Stephanie), plan a new bonus episode on a movie we both watched and love and want to spoil the crap out of with friends, and then realize just how many dramas we’re both currently watching which features a dead fiancé’s heart. Holy Gdragon, this is the second week in a row we’ve managed to keep the podcast under a manageable level. I’m so proud! This week, we talk about how Cherry and Amber tricked Stephanie into either watching terrible dramas, or not watching dramas at all. In this very special episode of the Kchat Jjigae Podcast, we’re joined by friends Xe and Molly In Kdramaland, where we will talk about, and squeee over, the Thai drama Love Sick: The Series. We’ll be talking season 1, what’s out so far of season 2, and the web book. If you’ve read the book and watched the drama—come and listen. If you haven’t—well you may want to watch first and then come back, as not only is it a super cute drama, but we are going to spoil the s*#t out of it.
This episode is an experiment, so it’s different from the episodes we usually put out. Cherry and I have wanted to do this for a while, take a single drama or movie and talk about it at length (i.e. rip it apart, look at the pieces, and then reassemble). The format is a lot looser than usual, and as a result, I decided to not edit as I usually do, leaving the conversation almost as is. Listening again for the edit, I noticed we do have our fangirl glasses on, so it’s a lot of “I love it!” and “They are so adorable!” but we managed to get some more interesting bits in there as well.
