MCM London Comic Con 2017: Manu Bennett round table (November 2017)
Tripwire EIC Joel Meadows was lucky enough to be present for the very entertaining (and revelation-filled) round table with ARROW star Manu Bennett, as he talked about the evolution of the small screen iteration of Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke, how his character grows in the latest season with the relationship between Slade and his son, meeting the original creators of the character at comic conventions, and what fans can expect from Slade and the show coming up.

One of the premier British creators working in comics today, Kieron Gillen has had an enviable career (alongside his artist partner-in-crime Jamie McKelvie): bypassing the traditional path through UK comics and landing their first projects with American publishers, most notably PHONOGRAM with Image Comics.
As Image celebrate their 25th Anniversary in 2017, Tripwire Magazine EIC Joel Meadows talks to Kieron about his thoughts on the impact of the publisher, not only on his own career but on the comics landscape in general.
Kieron also reflects on the early days of PHONOGRAM ahead of a new retrospective release and also on the latest developments of editors such as Karen Berger and Shelly Bond, both now setting up creator-led imprints (at IDW Publishing and Dark Horse Comics respectively) and how Image led for such imprints to become established.

At this years New York Comic Con, Tripwire Magazine's EIC Joel Meadows took part in a round table with cast and crew of the upcoming chapter in the Planet Of The Apes franchise, WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES: star Andy Serkis (Caesar), Matt Reeves (director), Peter Chermin (producer).
This latest installment sees the conflict between the surviving humans and the burgeoning apes civilization reaching breaking point, with Caesar faced with both sides ready to annihilate the other. With production stresses, story pressures and the need to fulfill the audiences expectations to up the ante, the filmmakers talk here about the drive to present their own stories whilst living up to the legacy of the original films.
NYCC 2016: A Conversation with Adam West (05/10/2016)
On the first day of New York Comic Con 2016, Tripwire Editor-In-Chief Joel Meadows was lucky enough to participate in a round table conversation with a true legend of the Dark Knight mythos: the actor that played the titular hero in the camp 1960's Batman TV series, Adam West.
During the conversation - being held as part of the promotion for the new DC Animated Adventure CAPED CRUSADERS - West talks about the differences between approaching the character after all these years, about the process of voice recording his contribution to this 'new/old' version of the Batman character, and about what he feels makes his campier iteration endure through the decades.
Surgeon X is a new and bold story exploring the moral and ethical fringes of modern science and medicine: written by documentary maker (and first-time comics author) Sara Kenney, and initially funded by the Wellcome Institute, the six-part comic series sets to challenge what the boundaries of a person's desire to do good in the landscape of an antibiotic apocalypse - by any means necessary.
Here, Sara talks to Tripwire Magazine's Joel Meadows about the conception of the comic, the genesis of its production from an web series to a full-blown publication by Image Comics, and her working relationships with acclaimed artist John Watkiss and esteemed editor Karen Berger, who returns to comics for this very project.

Laurence Campbell is a British comic artist who started his career working on Caliber’s Negative Burn anthology and then got noticed by 2000AD. At 2000AD, he collaborated with future big name Rob Williams. His work there led to working for Marvel, where he teamed up with Williams once again and also with fellow British writer Peter Milligan. He is currently one of the regular artists on Dark Horse’s BPRD series, which span out of Mike Mignola’s Hellboy book, with writers Mignola and John Arcudi. His unique old-school storytelling and dynamic page composition has given him a loyal following. Tripwire editor-in-chief spoke to him in this exclusive interview.
