Poker Flat Recordings keeps up its prodigious release schedule with another superb EP - this time by scene statesmen Gorge and Markus Homm. Gorge (aka Pit Waldmann) is the co-owner of 8bit Records, originally from Mannheim and has carved a singular niche for himself over the past 20-odd years. Similarly. Markus Homm has been deeply influential in developing the scene in his native Romania, and is now working alongside the Poker Flat regular Mihai Popoviciu.
With this EP Gorge and Markus Homm have merged their many talents and honed two tracks of depth and weight. 'Holos' is a tightly wound slice of superior tech house, textured and layered with lush chords and a thick lower end.
'Glint' also showcases the duo's mutual understanding of the dynamics of the dance floor - a slick groove is enhanced and expanded via subtle and effective melodic elements, including a pinch of acidic 303 sounds.

Pavel Iudin is back on Poker Flat Wax with a new the killer four-track EP pressed on green and white vinyl.
Inspired by an industrial, technoid vibe reminiscent of Iudin growing up in a city surround by metallurgical industry, the title track 'Framework' is a slinky, crafty burner, built around an irresistible groove. Iudin keeps the extras to a minimum, letting the balance of a few key elements become the track's strength.
'Echelon' works around a tightly woven drum sample before opening up with some beautiful Access Virus synth effects.
'Dummy' is an exercise in restrained deepness - the track has a submerged quality that could work on many dance floors.
Last up is 'Automotive' - another groove driven cut that uses a minimum of elements without ever feeling minimal - sign of a producer fully in control of his craft.
"Automotive', says Iudin "is in contrast with my other records. I used sounds that are not typical for myself and they led me to something new. Perhaps this is a continuation of my previous track Dubrawa. I was also inspired by the idea of the raw and dubby Wax Only series, using simple patterns and sounds."

The title track is a richly detailed production (unsurprisingly), featuring a hypnotic rhythms track and a beautifully realised vocal performance from Alexander Sjödin (Sailor & I).
The track that already became a highlight in Bieger's live-sets is also released here as a dub, providing DJs with two different versions.
'El Fuego' completes the release - a tough, pounding kick interacts with a deep, evolving bassline that snakes its way through the track, joined by acidic wiggles and dramatic stabs. An exercise in restraint and release that Bieger is fast becoming celebrated for.

The Berlin native Marco Resmann has put in a lifetime's worth of dedication to the house and techno scene, building a name for himself as a key player over the last 15 years while co-founding the ever-excellent Upon.You label. Returning to Poker Flat Recordings, he kicks off the new year in style with the Other Days EP.
The title track sees Resmann sculpting a muscular tech house workout for the floor. Tight percussion, a driving rhythm and killer synth pulses are the order of the day.
'Repro' keeps things cooking - an urgent, euphoric rhythm meets a filthy bassline and wonky melodies.
'Searching' rounds off the EP, a deeper cut but still with a razor sharp edge that will keep the dancers wide eyed throughout.

One of Cologne’s youngest and brightest electronic music stars on the rise, @timengelhardt didn't gatecrash the scene out of leftfield, but started his path to connoisseurship fairly early. Part of a diverse new breed of young producers that get their cues from all sorts of genres and listening situations, Tim still stands apart, having released his very first record when he was just 14 years old. However he has taken last year like a storm, you nearly can’t believe all the EPs and remixes he did drop! Here is just a small amount of labels he released on: Suara, Green, Upon.You, Einmusika, Syncopat, 3000 Grad and Ritter Butzke. Whilst working together with Artists like: Robert Babicz, Miguel Bastida, Joris Voorn and David Hasert, just to name a few.
For this year he is finally back on Poker Flat Recordings, with his remarkable debut album „Moments Of Truth“ (out: 05.05.2017)
