Sara and I cover topics that you may have observed in your life as a transracial adoptee and we share our own experiences and opinions with one another so we can find a better light to banana life!

My goal is to address the struggles and traumas that Asian transracial adoptees face due to the culture they surround themselves with and help those that may be having these internal or societal struggles. In today's episode me and my co-pilot are discussing racism in America against Asians and how we can do better for our community and for our race. We touch on different perspectives when it comes to racism and what different kinds of influences that provoke poor behavior towards us as transracial adoptees..
In today's episode Sara and Allie discuss the feeling of not belonging the identity crises that (Asian) transracial adoptees face. We talk about the term "othering" and why it does more harm than good when it comes to identifying a group. We also discuss two main cultures that influence Asian transracial adoptee behaviors when it comes to feeling like there isn't a group to fit in.
In today's episode of Banana Life, Sara and Allie speak up about why connecting to culture is vital to a transracial adoptee's identity and share ways that more adoptees can keep ties with their racial history and traditions so they can be able to embrace it and be proud of who they really are and where they're from.
