In an advancing world of technology, some will choose to embrace the past and present, instead of the future. I am dedicated to bringing this form of nostalgia into the world of game music.

Trying to get myself to use SoundCloud more for the sake of keeping engagement of my work going...This was first shared to Newgrounds two years ago, but happy to announce it will finally be released as part of a mod for the game Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, coming June 11 (the game's 5th anniversary)!Ratchet and Clank © Insomniac Games
Rearrangement of VGM for a close friend's birthday the other day. Took the liberty of extrapolating the base composition as it was originally pretty short. Hope everyone enjoys!Original composition © Barry "Epoch" Topping
A track from a follow-up to what will likely now be known as "Waveforms V1": more experimentation with original retrowave compositions sequenced based on sounds generated from various vintage synthesizers. Some are software-based emulations, others are sequenced and recorded from the real hardware. This piece was made using various samples from the E-mu Emax samplers
Patreon request made using entirely with custom Wavestation VST sounds.Original composition © Yutaka Minobe and Tatsuyuki Maeda
A Patreon request for a good friend spelled it out to me: the planned publish date of this upload is the 20th anniversary of the popular mid 2000s sci-fi shooter game known as Halo 2.This arrangement does try to capture the original atmosphere, while trying to avoid the original synthesizers and samples used. In this case, everything heard is two instances of the korg wavestate native VST, with a crowd sample sampled from my 01R/W to top it off.Original composition © Martin "Ytram" O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori
New music to upload here at last, and original game music at that. Entirely composed using two sounds from the Roland JD-990 synthesizer for an entry for Yaz Jam 5, hosted by the Icehouse Collective.Hope everyone enjoys!https://theicehousecollective.weebly.com/
Original synthwave at long last. Technically commissioned by someone on Ko-Fi, but all the same, enjoy! All tuned sounds were courtesy of the Martinic AX73 VST!Artwork © Noc_Loft on Twitter/X
Old cover arrangement I made three years ago, but realized I didn't publish here. Now with cover art, and in time for this year's 909 Day.Original © Real Life
Had some inspiration to work on another video game rearrangement, this time, using only a single recording of a multitimbral synthesizer, in this case, the X5DR.

A cover version of music from a newer game I recently discovered and enjoyed. I was tempted to resort to my usual retro synth twist, but I decided in the end it would take away from the original intended mood, so I settled for a compromise by using various 90s ROMpler sounds for this arrangement.
Shoutout to Karolina Twardosz and Lukasz Mikołajczyk for the fun game this composition is from, which can be bought on Steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/904750/Zniw_Adventure/
Additional shoutout to Denis Comtese, who made the original compositions, which can be listened to here on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-995184273/sets/zniw-adventure-ost
This was a simple drone piece intended for a Scream Jam 2020 entry by JJ Barcelo that, sadly, wasn’t able to be finished in time.

Finally back with an original tune! This Halloween-themed music is a gift for a longtime client and friend (YarkWark on Twitter): a theme for a spooky variant of one of her characters.

Another redone cover version, requested by @ramtin-foxthree.

Anyone who follows my music from long ago might remember a prior cover version I made as a bonus track for my Prison of the Mind album. Decided to redo it last month, and admittedly only just remembered to share it here.
Artwork is new, at least. Shoutout to NocLoft on Twitter for her willingness to draw a take of the Floodland album cover using characters of mine: https://twitter.com/noc_loft

A close friend of mine convinced me to do a cover of somewhat-modern FNAF music.

After finding out I'm eligible for SoundCloud Premier, I was officially convinced to revisit this place. This was uploaded to YouTube a while back. Expect there to be a backlog of dated uploads here, that in mind.

Motivated to experiment a little more with the Korg Wavestation VST in light of its recent update: everything except a subtle M1 piano/choir sound and the drums are courtesy of the Wavestation.

In order to prepare for more horror-tinged work for a gamedev, I decided to rearrange music from a game I discovered recently by Sierra: Shivers. To challenge myself, all sounds and samples were created in 1985 or earlier, meaning a good chunk of Synclavier, Fairlight, and Emulator.

Gift music for someone on Twitter. Meant to share earlier, but didn't get around to it until now.
After some time, I think now is a good time to begin giving previews of one of my big projects the past year: an upcoming game being developed by CowCat Games. It's not the whole piece, and that's simply because the game isn't officially out, yet.
More information about the project and its developer can be found on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/COWCATGames

Something Halloween-themed: a darker version of another character theme I had written for Yark Wark.

Finally, some new ORIGINAL music I can publicly share! This was commissioned by Yark Wark. While more music for her Team Prototype story idea, this was experimental for me in that I was told to make a hybrid between thrash and electronica, for the purposes of making it sound plausible as an instrumental from a futuristic rock band. Naturally, I couldn't resist use of samples of the Metallica Black album kit for the thrash themes, that said.
Pictured is art by her of one of the band members.

A short cover of the music for Freedom Planet 2 as a gift for a good friend of mine who recently hit 5000 followers on Twitter. Check her out here:

Unusual music for me, I know, but I suppose it's good to experiment: a metal-tinged recreation of the theme for MotorCity, as requested by a good friend of mine, with additional extensions based very loosely on the source material.
MotorCity © Disney
Unusual music to rearrange for me: the slightly jazzy twist aside, it's from a really obscure fangame very few are likely to remember based on the Myst games. And of course, couldn't resist an even more dated twist with the use of an electric grand and a LinnDrum. Also my first experiment with Logic Pro's humanizing functions, so hopefully it sounds marginally more natural insofar as the notes.

Ended up deciding to do more TMNT game cover music to keep my creative block at bay.

More game jam music, this time, for a submission for Adventure Jam 2019 called "Numen: The Path of the Gods". Tried to make a more ethnic sound with this project than usual.

A late birthday present for Yark Wark, who also made the image for this track. Also an experiment with 90s techno style music.
All instruments except for the drum loop were from RolandCloud VST's.
A demo piece written for an upcoming game developed by CowCat Games. The project itself hasn't officially been announced yet, but the developer and I felt it best to upload this as a teaser.

First video upload of the new year may as well be a submission I made for a compilation that came out a week or two ago: a cover tribute to the Donkey Kong Country games, titled Treetop Tunes and distributed by Pixel Mixers.

Decided to try making original music for myself, for a change, even if just to get original ideas flowing. The first of a few "drabbles", if you will. While this particular composition is done, critiques are still welcomed for how to make future works sound better.

Anyone here familiar with this game? It was a 1994 game that effectively introduced me to game modding thanks to its included level editor.
Regardless, this cover version features a near perfect recreation of the famous Emulator II Liquid Stack using FM8 and samples of the Fairlight Series III.
