The Charles Mizrahi Show: Recent Episodes

Charles Mizrahi

I’m Charles Mizrahi.

I currently write Alpha Investor — one of America’s fastest-growing investment publications — and have had nearly 40 years of experience as a floor trader, hedge fund manager and money manager on Wall Street.

In fact, I was once named the No. 1 trader in the nation by Barron’s.

But the story of my rise through the ranks is about more than just success — it’s about achieving the American Dream.

You see, I didn’t grow up wealthy. But I did grow up with the belief that America was the greatest nation on earth — a land of freedom and opportunity.

And right now, I’m on a mission to prove that it still is. Although we’re constantly being told by the media that America’s best days are behind her … I know the opposite to be true.

That’s exactly why I started The Charles Mizrahi Show.

With this podcast, I want to help you — and as many other Americans as possible — rekindle the American Dream and realize that we, the people, have everything we need to get ourselves back on track.

Each episode features in-depth conversations with high-profile guests who share their own unique American Dream stories, and their views on the current state of our nation.

I’ll also share with you my passion for teaching everyday people how to prosper through America’s greatest wealth creator: the stock market.

Because I believe we all have a patriotic duty to give back to this country — which has done so much for us.

For 100 years, a metal hook held up wires and insulators along the Feather River Canyon, California. After a century's worth of wind, rain and snow wearing it down, it eventually broke in half.

When the live wire fell, it ignited the dry brush below, setting off a huge wildfire. The fire spread with a speed that was absolutely impossible to contain, killing more than 100 people. And the fire razed hundreds of thousands of acres of vineyards and forest.

In her latest book, California Burning: The Fall of Pacific Gas and Electric and What it Means for America’s Power Grid, author Katherine Blunt shared with me the high human cost of our energy grid.

Topics Discussed:

In the book, Katherine explores the decline of California’s largest utility company that led to countless wildfires — including the one that destroyed the town of Paradise — and the human cost of infrastructure failure.

There’s always time to buy quality businesses — one year, two years out.  In fact, probably the worst time to buy a stock is at the IPO. But that’s exactly when most retail investors buy them. Once you listen to my conversation with Dakin Campbell, you’ll never want to buy an IPO again. In fact, tech companies have wised up and avoid IPOs. In his latest book, “Going Public: How Silicon Valley Rebels Loosened Wall Street's Grip on the IPO and Sparked a Revolution,” you’ll see why the retail investor is the patsy. Eddie Antar turned a tiny Brooklyn store into the largest electronics retailer. In the 1970s and 1980s, his commercials were everywhere. “Crazy Eddie! His prices are insaaaaane!" They were even spoofed on Saturday Night Live. But Crazy Eddie’s success was a fraud from day one. In fact, before Enron, Madoff, and The Wolf of Wall Street, Antar's corruption was second to none.
