The sermon covers Daniel's 70th week (taken from Daniel 9) particularly in it's relation to Israel being judged in the Tribulation.
This class begins a study on the Judgment of Israel in the Tribulation. This particular study deals with the covenant that God made with the children of Israel after thier exodus from Egypt, and the terms of that covenant, and what God said He would do if Israel violated those terms. Admittedly, there is quite a bit of reading in this class, which generally makes for a "drier" and less "dynamic" mode of delivery, but the importance of seeing this foundational material calls for such consideration of the Scriptures.
This message was originally preached during our mid-week service on May 7th, 2025. This is the "re-preached" version as I personally felt a little rushed due to my abundance of notes and the pressure to get everything pressed in.

Such was the case with the woman of Samaria in John 4 as she tried to deal with Jesus Christ with a natural mindset and as a result failed to understand the spiritual implication of what He was saying. That was problem was eventually surmounted, but not until a particular issue was dealt with.
The early church is the pattern for what the church should be today. We must keep our focus.
While not infallible proof, one of the tell-tale indications of hearing problems in young children is found in problems with speech. Likewise, one of the oft found problems with our prayer life is that we're often not able to hear.
Both Herod and the wise men said they were looking for Jesus Christ, but only one of them actually were. Likewise, many say they are looking to be saved or make a profession, but in all actuality, it is merely a profession. This sermon seeks to point out distinctions between the two companies.

Discernment is a necessity to the Christian life, as is caution exercised from the standpoint of wisdom and sound judgment. A cautious attitude gained from having been formerly misled or erroneously instructed is not necessarily bitterness, but prudence.
The solution and answer for the sinner and the Christian are found in the same place- the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
As part of the Christian's armour laid out in Ephesians 6, the -helmet of salvation- is often explained to be the imputed righteousness of Christ. While there is no problem with such application, it misses the larger truth of the Christian's mind being set on the Rapture, which is the full experience of our salvation.
Cain and Abel both brought sacrifices. Abel's sacrifice was the blood of a Lamb, by which the Scripture says he obtained witness that he was righteous. The only way in this age a man can gain the witness that he himself is righteous is by the application of the blood sacrifice God provided in Jesus Christ.

A controversial subject to be sure, this short class explores what the bible says about the events Jesus experienced after the cross. The dilemma really stems from a question of interpretation and translation. Some believe that the reference in Acts is a reference to a containment cell for unbelievers, but we compare scripture with scripture and learn that the Hell of Acts 2-27 most definitely had flames and was a place of torment.

There is in the Bible a description of the life of a believer. Many times our lives come short of that and we live as we did before we were saved. This is what we call backsliding. When we were lost we did many ungodly things, but consider that as a lost person there were many righteous things that we omitted from our lives. When we as Christians omit the things of the Christian life, we are indeed back-slidden.
