V neděli 26. února 2023 se podařilo slovenskému ultraběžci Jozefu Rajchlovi něco neskutečného - po 51 dnech přeběhnul Austrálii z východního pobřeží na západní. Společně se svým kamarádem Lubošem Kršiakem, který Jožku doprovázel jako support autem, dokázali překonat skoro 4000km vzdálenost ze Sydney do Perthu. Jaké to je denně běžet kolem 100km v teplotách přesahujících 45'C? An inspiring Australian with an inspiring life story. Todd Philpott is a hand cyclist, weightlifter, and former professional trainer. The whole of his life Todd has been an athlete. After horrible motorbike accident in Sydney in 1992 he lost his right leg. His passion for sport gave him the power to fight the bad injury and he made it to championships even then. Todd has inspired and couched many people who went through similar lifechanging experience and motived them as being active is the main thing for the overall wellbeing. Príbeh vyhorenia zo šťastným koncom. V tejto episode Vám predstavíme Veroniku Janečkovú. Dáma, kterou v české a slovenské komunitě v Australii snad není potřeba představovat. Podílela se na přípravě nejdelšího repatriačního letu vůbec. Velkou měrou přispěla k tomu, aby se přes 300 Čechů a jiných národností mohlo dopravit v době coronavirové krize zpět domů ke svým rodinám. Se svým týmem dala celé akci lidský rozměr, a to i díky využití socialních sítí. Povídali jsme si o vyjednávání na mezinárodni úrovni, o lidské solidaritě a nakonec nám prozradila, kdo je pro ni Legendou. Marek Balicki je paramedik a dobrovolný hasič, který se před 2 a půl lety vypravil na cestu po světě. Za tu dobu navštívil přes 14 zemí, které objel převážně na skládacím kole, dopravním prostředkem se mu stala ale i vlastnoručně vyrobená loď. Petr Mlčák je mladý český hasič žijící v Austrálii, který se rozdhodl spolu s dalšími hasiči pomoci v oblasti zasažené letošními ničivými lesními požáry. Poslechněte si jeho příběh, jak se vydali pomoci do Cobarga, města na jihovýchodním pobřeží Austrálie, jež prošlo v noci na Nový rok 2020 doslova peklem. Ve 4 h ráno udeřil blesk zhruba 50 km od města, vznítil se požár, který se kvůli silnému větru do hodiny dostal do samotného Cobarga. Město takřka celé padlo popelem. Nyní na místě funguje nezisková organizace BlazeAid (https://blazeaid.com.au/) vítající každé ruce, které se chtějí přidat a pomoci lidem v této oblasti zničené přírodní katastrofou. Přemýšleli jste někdy nad tím, jaké to je žít na plachetnici? A co kdyby byla v Austrálii a byla docela minimalistická? Martin Vytáček alias Márvin odjíždí poslední čtyři roky na zimu z Čech do australské Sydney, aby tu prožil zdejší léto na vlnách Tichého oceánu. Lucie a Pavel Novákovi jsou český pár, který žije pátým rokem v buši v austraských Modrých horách v objektu, který se nazývá "Six Foot Track Eco Lodge (http://sixfoottrackecolodge.com). Oblast, kde se Eco Lodge nachází, je původní aboridžinskou buší s množstvím zvířat, eukalyptů, kapradin, potoků a skal. Co je přivedlo na tohle krásné, ale na žití náročné místo? Jak se vyrovnávají s každoročními požárz buše, které jsou běžnou součástí Austrálie? Jak je zasáhla letošní intenzivní vlna požárů, kdy oheň byl skoro až u nich? S naším projektem Legend Element jsme se vypravili přiložit ruku k revitalizaci strmých svahů zničených buldozery, které vytvořili hluboké předěly, aby zabránily šíření lesního požáru. Vznikly tak poměrně rozsáhlé obnažené plochy náchylné na erozi, kdy bude trvat desítky let, než se znovu zalesní. [ Moderuje: Markáta Melounová ]
