Piney Grove is a church that love the Lord Jesus Christ and the nations. We are a church that upholds the Word of the Lord and seeks to make the name of Jesus famous through out our community and the world. Hear Pastor Larry bring the word ever Sunday.
What does genuine repentance look like? In Hosea 6, God calls His wandering people to return to Him, but He desires more than temporary emotion, empty ritual, or outward religion. He desires our hearts.
In this message from Hosea 6:1–6, we see the call to return to the Lord, trust His restoring grace, press on to know Him, and depend on Him to sustain us when we are prone to wander. Through Hosea’s words and the picture of the prodigal son, we are reminded that God faithfully calls sinners home and desires steadfast love rather than empty sacrifice
In Hosea 5, Pastor Jason examines God's indictment against Israel's continual unfaithfulness, spiritual pride, and misplaced trust. Though God's people continued practicing religion, their hearts had drifted far from Him, deceiving themselves into believing all was well. Instead of turning to the Lord, they sought help and healing from the world, looking to human solutions for a problem that only God could fix. This passage is a timely reminder that God desires surrendered hearts, not empty rituals. As believers, we're called to examine our lives, reject self-reliance, and place our hope in Jesus Christ alone, the only One worthy of our trust, worship, and hope.
Today Pastor Jason walks through Hosea Chapter 4. In this chapter we see a courtroom scene is set as God brings His case against His people. The charge: there is no truth, no faithful love, and no knowledge of God in the land. In this message, we examine the danger of allowing culture to redefine truth, the devastating consequences of biblical ignorance, and the responsibility every believer has to know and proclaim the gospel faithfully. While Hosea delivers a stern warning against compromise and spiritual drift, it also reveals the grace of a God who lovingly restrains His people from destruction and continually calls them back to Himself. Discover why true freedom is found not in following the culture, but in pursuing the truth of God's Word.
Pastor Jason continues the study through Hosea with chapter 3, where the redemption of Gomer provides one of Old Testament's clearest pictures of the gospel. Through Hosea's pursuit, purchase, and restoration of his unfaithful wife, we see the greater love of Christ, who provided the way, purchased our redemption, is transforming us by His grace, and will one day complete His work in us.
In this message from Hosea 2, Pastor Jason Tate explores both the seriousness of sin and the greatness of God's grace. Discover how God's discipline is meant to restore, why every blessing should point us back to Him, and how He can transform even the deepest valleys of our lives into doors of hope.
Today Pastor Jason begins our new series through the book of Hosea by exploring God's faithfulness in the face of Israel's unfaithfulness. As Hosea 1 reminds us of the danger of spiritual drift, we also see the incredible hope of God's mercy and redemption through His promised Savior.
Today Pastor Jason preaches from Psalm 127, reminding us that God's plan is better than our own. As we celebrate Father's Day, we are challenged to trust the Lord, faithfully disciple the next generation, and steward the children He has entrusted to us.
On Graduate Sunday 2026, Pastor Jason Tate walks through Psalm 1 and its timeless call to be firmly rooted in God's Word. In a culture filled with competing voices, shifting values, and deceptive influences, believers are reminded that true blessing, stability, and purpose are found in delighting in and meditating on the truth of Scripture. Using the imagery of a tree planted by streams of water, this message challenges graduates—and every believer—to resist the draw of the world, stand firm in Christ, and build a life that glorifies God. Whether you are entering a new season of life or simply seeking to follow Christ more faithfully, this sermon offers both encouragement and a clear call to be rooted in the Word.
As the Witnesses series comes to a close, Pastor Jason examines the call of Christ to carry the gospel to the end of the earth. From our neighborhoods to the nations, believers are called to live on mission for the glory of God. This message culminates with a look at Revelation 7:9–12, where people from every tribe, tongue, and nation gather around God's throne in worship—the ultimate fulfillment of the church's missionary task.

Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to the house of Israel failed; everyone was fulfilled.” The book shows how God kept his covenant promise to give the land to Israel.” We are reminded of these promises through the person and work of Jesus. 1Co 1:9 God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Pastor Larry Stephens brings a message on the importance of finding those people of peace in our lives. A person of peace can be identified as the following, "Often the person of peace will have friends and relatives who are open to gospel witness and are welcoming to followers of Jesus. Finding them is but one ‘tool of the trade’ that assists us in locating those in whom God may be." The “person of peace” is the person who opens the way for the gospel to enter one’s social group or even their village. Who is that person in your life, on your job, in the neighbor.
Pastor Larry brings a message from the sermon series through the book of Acts. The Apostle Paul is onboard and Egyptian grain ship enroute to Rome. The screw is facing a typhonic type of storm, and if they do not lighted the load, they will no doubt shipwreck.
There are some glaring applications streaming for these passages. There are things we must throw overboard in our walk with the Lord to keep us from a Spiritual Shipwreck, particularly for the church.
Things to toss overboard:
The chief factor is compromise, Backbiting, gossip, and slander and even
entertaining such things, Constant relentless
complaining, Entitlement, Unrealistic expectations for leaders, People pleasing, The church trying to
look like the world, and The lack of discipleship and disciple making.
Things to Bring Aboard:
Meditation -Prayer, it helps us get our mind,
heart, and motives in a correct place lined up
with the Lord’s will.
Worship- Giving Glory to God by praying,
singing, and adoring Christ.

Application: "We must also be willing like Paul to confront false teaching and stand on truth. We confront false teaching with the expounded word of God, and a holistic understanding of the Bible. Why? Because many cultic churches use the Bible as their prooftext but don’t every expound upon it as a whole unit. They cherry pick verse to make their case. Next time you visit another church, take out a piece of paper and write down how many times the name Jesus is used in a way that forms a gospel picture. Write down if the Bible is used and unpacked. If the church teaches any other way to salvation than Jesus, stay away…or confront them."
Recorded 10/15/2023.
Pastor Larry G. Stephens brings a sermon of the providence of God.
"This is a narrative of God intervening and protecting His people. Until the work be done, God protects and provides."
"The church was praying hard for Peter. They had a prayer meeting for their brother in Christ. The Lord had certainly intervened again and free Peter from what would be certain death. This is a remarkable contrast. Herod proposes trail and death, but God disposes and arranges freedom; One could say, God sovereignly arranges liberation and true freedom. Another contrast, James was suddenly apprehended and taken off, but God provided a time for the church to pray for Peter. Where the enemy has come against to condemn, the Bible says in Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Even though this historical event happened in real time and brought to pass by God’s intervention, there is another true to consider. That while we were imprisoned by the stain of sin and death, Christ came to set the captive free. While we were dead in our trespasses, forever on the path of destruction and the consuming judgment of God almighty, He came to set the captive free. While we were on the way to the second death, the eternal judgment of God, He came to set the captive free. While we were chained to sin and despair, Jesus came to set the captive free by His vicarious death on the cross, His burial in the tomb of a rich man, and His glorious resurrection. By this glorious gospel, Jesus set the captive free and brings dead men and women to life. He has set the captive free and the chains of sin have fallen off, the gate of separation because of sin has been flung open by the risen Jesus, and we now can approach the Father boldly in the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit."
