In 1965, a psychologist named Bruce Tuckman identified a 4 stage model of group development.

The 4 stages that were identified are:

Forming: โ€จThe first stage is Forming, and the primary focus in this stage is on the people. This includes defining roles, building relationships, creating structure and developing group norms.

Storming: โ€จAs time goes on, conflicts eventually arise and teams transition into the Storming stage. This is when frustration and disagreements about roles, goals, and responsibilities begin to surface.

Norming: โ€จDuring the Norming stage, team members resolve their differences and begin to shift their energy toward the teamโ€™s goals. Members start to feel like they are part of a team and can take pleasure from the increased group cohesion.

Performing: โ€จIn the Performing stage, processes, structures, and relationships work without friction and the team makes significant progress towards its goals.

In this episode we discuss how to end your meetings with intention.

TL;DR: Never assume that everyone is aligned and knows what to do next

  • Confirm key decisions, next steps, and owners before you leave
  • Document and communicate outcomes for reference
  • Get feedback and iterate after the meeting

In this episode we discuss 3 ways that you can use Mentimeter to increase engagement during remote meetings, workshops, and presentations.

I like using Menti because you can see results in real time, and itโ€™s a great way to create a space for people to be open and share anonymously. And... You can actually get A LOT done with a free account. =-)

In this episode we talk about how to take a proactive approach to planning in a VUCA world.

VUCA, is a military acronym that stands for Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity. Itโ€™s an excellent way to view the complexity of the world around us. And like Mike Tyson said, โ€œeveryone has a plan, until they get punched in the mouth.โ€ But seriouslyโ€ฆ
