In this HUGE episode we spoke to Jessica Biesiekierski all about her career pathway, as well as her research into the gut-brain axis. This was such a great conversation and definitely opened our eyes to the many available opportunities within nutrition research. A huge thank you to Jess for joining us, and if anyone is curious to find out more about her research, you can find the details of the article discussed in this episode below:

Hey everyone, we apologise for the delay with the release of the next episode, obviously things have been a bit crazy! But to make up for the delay we've got an extra juicy episode for you! We start this episode with a chat about what protein is, the roles it plays in the body and where you can source it from.

As well as this, we have a fabulous guest speaker, Gina Trakman, who gives us all an insight into the world of sports nutrition! She chats to us about her career path and gives us some advice for beginning our own journeys into the fields of nutrition and dietetics. Gina is a practicing dietitian with additional qualifications in sports nutrition and is also a part of the academic teaching staff at La Trobe University! The interview portion begins at 9:05 (if you're feeling like a protein pro already).

Also, please bear in mind that none of this content is intended as dietary advice, but rather a launching pad for you to begin thinking about your own food choices and how they relate to your health.  Always make sure to get in touch with a qualified health professional if you have any specific concerns about your diet.
