Today, I brought back my best friend, Taryn, to talk about the creative self and how important it is to have an outlet in your life. Creativity has always been a big part of our relationship. We met in Los Angeles years ago while pursuing singing and songwriting. To this day we both prioritize our creativity even when it’s been hard to. I felt especially impressed to talk about the importance of stories and claiming our experience by living in them (as inspired by Stephanie Sellers) and I'm more committed now than ever to living a creative life.

Today, I want to talk about ambition. Right now, I’m in the middle of my own reckoning with it. If you’re feeling the same way, then this episode is for you.
We’re beginning to dismantle what ambition means and how it shows up. It’s not us that’s the problem but the environment. I don’t want to feel like I have to contort, trim, or lessen who I am to fit an idea the world presents to me. So I’m opting out. Demolishing ideas and beliefs to rebuild one brick at a time.
My question becomes….does ambition have a place in my life if it’s not the hustle and grind way? Let’s talk about this.

If you're unsure about wanting children and how to make that decision, this episode is for you. As a driven and creative woman, I was frightened by the idea of motherhood. In this episode, I'll share what almost made me reject the idea of having children, how I eventually realized I wanted them, and the most surprising parts of motherhood.

Motherhood. Entrepreneurship. Often, women are unsure if they can do both. Or if they even want both. Growing up, I believed motherhood meant losing yourself. And becoming invisible to the world. Boy, was I wrong. With a little girl now of my own, my idea of what women are capable of expanded.
That’s why I love this conversation with Hayley Clark, founder of Honey Mark. As a mama of 4 and successful business owner I had to talk to her about being a woman, mother, and dreamer.
Having 3 kids in 2.5 years was a big challenge that later became a huge inspiration for Hayley's swimsuit collection. After years of designing and many miracles, Hayley launched her company, Honey Mark.
As soon as Honey Mark launched, it caught like wildfire and has since helped tens of thousands of women find the perfect swimsuit that hits the sweet spot of cute and comfortable coverage. The journey in balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship was life-changing and she hopes to inspire moms out there to continue to be their authentic selves and pursue their dreams.

Today, I'm expanding on one of our most popular daily emails this year. It's about the ego's tendency to police the universe, as explained by Marianne Williamson in A Return To Love.
Criticism elicits defensiveness and doesn't inspire change. If we choose compassion instead that elicits a healed and open response. The context we put people in matters.

I’m so glad to bring back our minisodes and today, I wanted to touch on how we can be a magnet of goodness in our lives. We can lose our magnetism when we sink into negative energy and allow it to consume our whole being. When we prioritize slowing down and leaning into the famine, really focusing on being that magnet, everything will shift and change. Life will become easier and more joyful, I promise you.

As Brene Brown calls it, we're switching to a pause-cast instead of a podcast. And focusing on bringing you a daily email to nurture you every morning.
What that means is episodes will drop as we’re inspired. After taking a two-month pause in November and December I realized how inspired I felt giving space to thoughts and topics. How more insightful our content became when it could breathe.
Right now our cadence forces us to work on strict deadlines and like our job is cranking things out. That’s not the energy we want to bring you at TGS. We want to be that space that nurtures you, that encourages you to give space to the spiritual and creative aspects of your soul, let your own musings and inspiration breathe.
Creative, still energy is the most powerful there is. If there's only one email you sign up for this month sign up for ours now. Its purpose is to nurture and ground you every morning. You'll also get first access to new blog posts and episodes as they drop. You won't regret it.

Things are getting pretty busy in The Good Space so in the meantime, we are returning to one of my favorite solo episodes from 2020. We're going to talk about creating an energetic shield for protection from the influence of energy around you.
If you're an empath, someone who is sensitive to the emotions of other people, or your environment, oftentimes you can feel like you’re taking in so much and either get overwhelmed, feel down, or constantly drained when you’re around people.
We’re going to talk about how you can create a personal energy shield to protect where your energy goes and the kind you receive. Consider this the secret superpower you never knew you could have.

THIS WEEK’S INTENTION
I allow my energy to expand and rise to such high levels it converts lower energies around me. A warm, bright light surrounds me everywhere I go energizing and supporting me and those I love.
DO THIS TODAY
Make a list of where you may have leakages to your energy. Whether it’s a draining relationship or an addiction to your phone. Make the list and commit to releasing at least one thing from your life today.
THIS WEEK’S WRITING PROMPT
At the top of a blank page write “When I allow myself to sink to a lower energy why does that happen? What in me needs to heal or be brought to my attention?” then write freely, without judgment, to see what comes out.

NEW MINI-EPISODE EVERY THURSDAY
Intuition is top of mind for a lot of people right now. After two years of working, sleeping, and living in the same space, there's a craving for boundaries. Today, I answer a question from one of our listeners who said she questions everything in life including her ability to hear intuition. I hope my answers will plant seeds for you. TLDR: the more time you spend understanding and being with your creative and intuitive self, the more you’ll know when it’s speaking to you versus your intellect.

I had an inspiring lunch with a friend, who’s in her mid-twenties where she shared her biggest goal and her mapped out a plan to achieve it. Which made me realize how sacred most people are of boldly owning what they want. A lot of that fear comes from self-doubt and caring about what other people think. Listen to hear my thoughts on owning what you want and feel inspired to do the same!

What happens when a child has emotionally immature parents? How do you recognize it and heal yourself? This episode is inspired fully by Lindsay C. Gibson’s book Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents. Understanding what an emotionally immature parent looks like gives you the power to judge for yourself the level of relationship you can have with them. Or anyone really.
After this episode, you’ll have the ability to better create boundaries with ease and focus on living from a true, authentic space. Rather than spending tons of time and energy on a parent who won’t change.
Jenica from The Good Space community messaged me after reading it saying she thought it would be a great topic to speak on. She was without a doubt inspired to share it. Thank you Jenica because the book changed my life and I’m grateful for that and for you.

Today, I’m excited to chat about the chaotic creative process with Rachel Jepsen. Rachel is a nonfiction editor, writer, and dog owner living in the Midwest. We talk about how embracing chaos is fuel for creative work. Also, about self-compassion and how writing is a spiritual practice. She’s the executive editor at Every, a digital subscription publication focused on entrepreneurship, productivity, internet culture, technology, leadership, and more. If you want to have your creative spirit rejuvenated and re-lit then this episode is for you!
We talk about…
[3:52] Rachel on writing the chaotic good and getting creative through a place of chaos
[7:24] How Rachel gets started in writing through randomness
[12:00] How writing can help us become more compassionate for ourselves and for others
[15:48] How to approach journaling as a mind-expanding agent to help us
[21:27] Intentionality of the physical practice of writing
[27:48] Rachel on how writing is a practice and a process
[32:56] Writing as a spiritual practice and access to play
[37:04] The communal aspect of creativity and world-building
[39:45] Rachel's reading recommendations
QUOTES
“I think that there's so much to know about how journaling can help us become more compassionate, not just for ourselves, but for other people, because of the way that it sort of lays out the first draft of consciousness of ideation.” - Rachel
“Chaos isn't only necessary to create anything. Harnessing chaos is possible in our ultimate creative state. Self-editing is part of the creative process but the initial idea, the first spark of truth that ignites a new piece of writing and fuels, the remainder of the process, is born out of chaos, just like the universe.” - Rachel

“You make sense. Every single part of you makes sense and if you make sense, it means you are not broken and if you’re not broken, it means healing is possible. Your system knows how to heal. It just needs to be shown the way and that’s what this work does.” - Sarah

In today’s episode, I want to talk specifically about negative thinking and a way to stop them from consuming your day. It involves a tool that fits within the CBT model and was created by therapist Laura Denke. It helps you manage the overwhelm and retrain the way your brain thinks.
Download this free Negative Thoughts Worksheet for digital and printable versions of the exercise explained in this episode. You can also use a notebook and pen if that’s accessible to you.
This is different from many tools we’ve taught in the past. Negative thoughts happen within. Other people can’t make you stop or start them or hear them unless you choose to share. Negative thoughts are consistently there. They guide the way someone views and acts in the world. Affirmations are great tools that help us think new thoughts. But they often don’t get to the root cause of negative thoughts. Listen to learn more about this tool. I hope it helps!

Today I want to share a breakthrough I had with processing intense emotional pain when normally I shut down. I hope that if you struggle with tolerating or processing emotional pain or painful feelings that it can give you something to try for yourself and maybe help you, too.
What I'm about to share is the first time I caught myself at the beginning of that emotional spiral and cycle. I lovingly nurtured myself through it and allowed the moment to process and then leave my body. The goal wasn't to stop or resist the emotions. The point this time was to feel everything but guide it through in a healthy, loving, supportive way.

Today, we’re chatting with Jules Evans about why New Age Spirituality tends to make people vulnerable to conspiracy thinking, which is a topic I discussed previously in episode 59. We discuss why that happens, the shadow side of spirituality, and how to stay grounded while still getting the benefits a spiritual life offers.
Jules is the author of books such as Philosophy For Life And Other Dangerous Situations and The Art of Losing Control: A Philosopher's Search for Ecstatic Experience. He’s also an honorary research fellow at the Centre for the History of the Emotions at Queen Mary, University of London. He researches the history of ideas and how they can help us flourish today. His research has explored everything from the revival of Stoicism in modern life, to the cultural history of ecstatic experiences.
We talk about…
[2:20] What inspired Jules Evans' work
[4:03] Jules' trauma and how stoicism also helped examine his beliefs
[7:03] Jules' journey through various philosophies and religions
[13:57] What is conspirituality?
[23:23] The deinstitutionalization of spirituality and conspiracy thinking
[28:40] Tendencies of the shadow side of our culture
[32:38] Balancing the Socratic and ecstatic while looking at the flaws of beliefs
[36:09] The power of love and kindness in spirituality
[37:50] The best way to read Jules’ books
[39:36] Jules' thought about spirituality moving forward
QUOTES
“The heart of spirituality and not knowing more than someone else, it’s just being kind. That’s the basics.” - Jules
“Usually, we are unconscious and unaware of the beliefs and the opinions we hold and that’s why we get stuck in prisons so we can use all kinds of methods to examine our beliefs.” - Jules
THIS WEEK’S INTENTION
I radiate with kindness no matter where I am or who I’m with. The energy around me rises with my presence.
WRITING PROMPT
What kind of person do you want to be ten or twenty years from now? In what ways do you see yourself serving your family or community? No pressure here. Even raising your energy and being a comforting presence in your everyday life can change other’s lives.

The term, conspirituality, entered my radar from a Los Angeles Times article about California’s yoga and wellness community having a QAnon problem which tripped my insatiable curiosity wire. Why would a community that represents connection, love, and acceptance adopt an ideology opposite to that? What’s the human behavior aspect behind that?
I want to talk about conspirituality as a foundational whole, not about specific ideologies that grow from it per se, and am sharing what I found. Most of this episode will dive into the human behavior aspect and at the end, I’ll share some action ideas. As a disclaimer: This article isn’t here to place shame or cause division.

Deep work is what it takes to produce streams of articles, books, or coming up with new ideas. Yet our world very much rewards shallow, aka less valuable, work. Things like attending meetings, answering emails, attending more meetings, posting on social media, and more. Today I want to talk about the social anxiety a lot of people may be feeling right now as the world starts to open up more. I compiled some tips for coping with social anxiety post-covid. After a year and a half of socializing with Netflix or virtually over Zoom it can feel like a shock to the system being in person again. It can also feel like there’s pressure to push ourselves into too much socialization. It’s important to acknowledge and accept the experiences and emotions that have resulted. We must learn to listen to what our bodies tell us and give ourselves the grace or nudge we need to heal. We have a great opportunity to practice listening, empathy, and self-soothing.

For the last month, I’ve been working 40+ hours for a big copywriting client while also keeping up with the weekly podcast and emails. I’m not gonna lie that at times, I feel overloaded. If you’re feeling like this too where life can feel heavy and you’re not sure when you’ll come up for air please know you’re not alone.
I’m not going to tell you to buckle up and press the gas pedal. Many of us have been conditioned to believe the only way to survive in the world is by adopting this fast-paced, constant doing mentality. What if I told you you’re more likely to succeed and thrive if you did nothing more? That allowing time for boredom holds more value than almost anything else you can do in the day. That is the permission slip I want to give you in this episode. Prioritize doing nothing and don’t feel like every second needs to be productive or active.

Studies show that most women suffer from lower self-esteem for at least 3 years after having kids. The word “Mom” tends to define women instead of becoming a role that they play. Heather Steinker started the podcast, Chaos n’ Cookies, which ranked #80 in Parenting on the USA charts. Her aim is to keep moms from crumbling and help them find their sweet spot. Heather is a certified coach for a premier virtual fitness and nutrition program and has a background in marketing. Whether that’s starting a new business, going back to school, or getting healthier. If you want to learn how to approach your to-do list without stress and find the balance between your role as a parent and YOU as a creative, ambitious doer then this episode is for you.
We talk about…
QUOTES
“When you're seeing your list slowly get crossed off and you're feeling productive. I got five of the seven things done ain’t too bad. I can move those to tomorrow... That's a lot. And I get to go spend time with my kids and my family. So it's just kind of changing that mindset up as I got it done” - Heather
“If you don't take the time to slow down or take the time with your family or be very visual with it, you'll get there and you'll miss the journey. Or you'll get reminded of all the things you missed, and then you'll regret it, and then it just doesn't get as fulfilling.” - Heather
THIS WEEK’S INTENTION
I embrace my identity as a divine spirit and use this powerful source within to play the roles in my life with excellence.

I’m going through a season of discovery and a few listeners in The Good Space community told me they are, too. After focusing hard on growth this last year, I started recognizing the conditioning and stories I’ve been sold about the life I’m “supposed” to live. How trusting yourself is more powerful than any expert’s opinion. I decided I needed to pause and let myself listen within for what’s right and remove any outside noise.
This episode is meant to get you thinking more about what you’ve been conditioned to believe and what kind of life you would love if there were no limits, rules, or judgment. Just a blank slate with no knowledge of any limit. I also hope you leave inspired to learn to trust yourself more. And with that, I wanted to leave you with 5 common ways you may be sabotaging our ability to trust ourselves.

Today’s conversation with Mike Cameron is one you won’t want to miss. He’s a CEO, a TEDx speaker, author, and father, who teaches men to become more emotionally connected. His work started after a powerful yet tragic experience: his partner was killed by an ex-boyfriend. Mike used this heartbreaking moment to turn this tragedy around and accept the calling to help men become more emotionally connected. This episode is very much for men who crave emotional connection but aren't sure where to start but ALSO for the women who have men in their lives. If you have a husband, brother, or son and you want to understand them better or communicate better, this episode is for you.
We talk about…
QUOTES
I'm all about getting to the root problem... [not] how do we build a better restraining order? I mean, that's like putting a bandaid on a ruptured juggler... a better question is, how do we prevent men from getting to that point in the first place? - Mike
Practice the pause. - Mike
I want to create an army of emotionally connected men. - Mike

Why do we struggle with resistance? It’s the number one thing that stops us from manifesting and living the unlived life within us. Look no further for the answer. I've researched and compiled info for this episode and will share what I found. Resistance not only affects our well-being on a physical and emotional level but on a creative one, too.
It's a self-protection mechanism that activates when a change happens. Michelle Rees says that "resistance can feel like an internal struggle between two parts of ourselves." Tony Fahkry says, "Emotional resistance implies the avoidance of feelings and unconscious emotions hidden under the surface. It relates to facing the true nature of oneself."
So what's a consistent way we can dissipate and work through resistance when we notice it's happening? Listen to hear a story that illustrates resistance and learn the 6 Rs of Working Through Resistance.

Today, we’re going to speak to Spanish American writer and creative, Cris Ramos Greene. She writes about travel, relationships and Miami culture which has been published on Thought Catalog, the BuzzFeed community, and Modern Brown Girl. After working for several Miami-based advertising agencies, she switched gears and forged a career in Miami's dynamic art world. She's a perfect example of someone who's tapped into her creativity. We’ll hear about how she started writing her own book, Embrace That Girl, and how she became the author of her own life.

It was really powerful to look back to my 20s. And look at everything that happened and how I had viewed them as mistakes. As missteps as embarrassing even. And look at it with a sense of empowerment and know that I am thriving, because of those things, not in spite of those things. - Cris
I think the creative process is really spiritual and I think that when we're creating. I think any artist will tell you this, no matter the discipline. We're touching on something that is otherworldly, that is divine, just the way that ideas work, how inspiration works, how one day you sit down and just everything flows out of you... - Cris
Be the author. You are so much more powerful than you know. - Cris

NEW EPISODE EVERY TUESDAY
What is a creative life? This episode will share four myths about creativity that may be stopping you from living a creative life. Elizabeth Gilbert says, “A creative life is an amplified life. It’s a bigger life, a happier life, an expanded life, and a hell of a lot more interesting life.”
This may sound great but for many seems like a distant reality. Maybe even an impossibility. In The War of Art, Steven Pressfield says, “Most of us have two lives. The life we live, and the unlived life within us. Between the two stands Resistance.” I’ll talk about this resistance and hopefully inspire you to pick up that pen, those ballet shoes, or whatever is your favorite way to be creative.

Today we're speaking to Kristina Aran, a mental health counselor, a disability rights advocate, a career coach, writer, and entrepreneur. She's the founder of a vegan, non-toxic, cruelty-free skincare line called ATARA skincare. Kristina immigrated to the United States from the former USSR at the age of 16. She was always fascinated with the study of the human mind and behavior. She pursued her studies in psychology and got a master's degree in mental health counseling from NYU. Kristina stresses the importance of committing to self-care, healing, and moving forward, mentally, through this time of COVID-19.
We talk about…
QUOTES
I think we have to come to terms or more like acceptance, that this is just a new way of life… how do I make this new way of life work for me. - Kristina
If you don't take care of yourself, and something, God forbid, happens to you, how are you going to continue taking care of other things, when you are the one crumbling? - Kristina
Peace is so important to find that equanimity, you know, in the middle of the chaos that's happening, it's a skill. And it's an acquired skill, I think it's something that takes probably for some people a lifetime to acquire and to master you know, and it's also part of self-care, a huge part of it, because mental health is not just feelings, your emotions, and you know, your behavior, mental health, everything that you allow to affect you. - Kristina
THIS WEEK’S INTENTION
I intend to inhabit a feeling of peace at all times and allow it to radiate through every experience I have.

Warning: this episode is meant to convince you to throw out any mindset you have around productivity or multitasking that involves managing your time and getting as much done as possible. Listener discretion is advised.
There's a physical phenomenon that happens when you switch tasks. Multitasking doesn't allow you to fully use the power of your brain. My hope is you'll see the harm multitasking causes and shift from the idea that you manage your time to own your time. Let’s shift that paradigm. I want you to feel peace and live a life as simple and authentic as possible and this is going to help you get closer to doing that.

This episode was originally supposed to be a solo one but after speaking with a few friends, I realized this question of honesty was being felt by the collective. So I brought my good friend Emily Spang on the show to get real and to dig into the question of “Am I being honest with myself?” We address resistance, stillness, and what happens when you finally identify your own truth.
We talk about...
QUOTES
“One thing I started to realize is that as you’re going through life and you’re trying to figure out what you want... if you’re coming up with a lot of resistance…they are big signs from the universe that no, you probably shouldn’t go down that road.” - Emily Spang
“Identify what is your actual truth because I think a lot of people take on other peoples’ truths and they are living this life and doing these things that are like, ‘Wait a second why am I doing this. The isn’t even the thing that I want to do. This somehow has been engrained in me to do this and I don’t even like it.” - Emily Spang

We are in a new year and I am so excited to bring back Dr. Amanda Tobe. She took me through this wonderful exercise about finding your personal compass and now we want you to find this for yourselves as well. The number one question I’m asked is “How do I know what to focus on?”. Or “How can I simplify my life more and feel more peace?” In February, The Good Space is hosting an event with Dr. Amanda Tobe to help you create your own personal compass which will make clear what to say no to, what feels right to say yes to, and how to be truly intentional.
She talks about...

“We place judgment on certain words and don’t give ourselves permission to claim certain words for ourselves and I think powerful was one we talk about” - Dr. Tobe
“Sometimes the things we are most afraid to take on are the things that we know we need to do or the things that are sometimes best for us.” - Dr. Tobe

NEW EPISODE EVERY TUESDAY
Manifesting and the stories that go with it fascinate and inspire a lot of people. It’s the reason why it’s one of the most successful topics on The Good Space’s site. Listening to manifesting stories not only teaches us how the concept works in actual life but inspires us to feel hope for our own lives.
In this episode, I’m sharing manifesting stories I’ve experienced, some from my team, and from listeners. A few will be read in the author’s own voices, instead of mine, which will be fun. I hope hearing these stories brings you peace and inspiration.

NEW EPISODE EVE
Friends. We made it. We’re heading towards the end of the year and today’s episode is going to help you make the transition as smooth and inspiring as possible. I took myself through the process I’m going to show you before recording this and will share some of my answers as examples for each step.
And what I hope we can do after this life-altering year is to give it greater meaning. A higher meaning that’s helpful and purposeful. Every incident we’ve experienced is a chance to go deeper, more authentic, to check in with how we’re living our lives, and to make changes as needed.
Many times, it’s not the situation that causes our life to feel a certain way but the meaning we give to it. That’s one of the most powerful lessons I’ve learned this year. I hope today’s exercise can help you create the closure you need and give you the peace to look forward to. Rituals and transitions give us a way to process better and when we take them away it’s harder to really feel connected to the moments in our lives.

NEW EPISODE EVERY TUESDAY
With everything that’s happened in 2020 I’m sure you’ve heard terms like “energetic shift” being thrown around or that’s it’s important to get “vibrationally aligned”. But what does that really mean?
After the Covid-19 (aka Coronavirus) scare began, you probably felt the collective energy change around you. Like it or not we all create energy and take it in from objects and people alike. Today, I’m hoping to shed some light on this foundational energetic concept and hope this episode brings you the clarity you need to start having an energetic practice that makes you feel more fulfilled.

Today I want to talk about a method I’ve learned recently that’s helped me progress on the path towards spiritual freedom and emotional healing. Since most of us aren’t taught how to process emotions, we can find ourselves holding onto past experiences and getting them stuck in our bodies. I’ve since learned that I’m not defined by my thoughts or emotions. You and I have a choice and can choose the emotional experiences we have. The first step is recognizing when you’re living in a trance or an illusioned state of being.

If you struggle with perfectionism then this episode is for you. Perfectionism is a topic I’ve wanted to discuss with you for a while. It’s also one I’ve felt nervous to tackle because I’ve struggled so much with it. It’s a true obstacle you may not even realize affects you as much as it does. My hope is that by putting perfectionism out in the open you’ll be able to put a label on it in your life. Then feel inspired to put into practice a progress mindset instead.

So I wanted to share things I'm afraid to tell you. Lately, I’ve been on a big self-acceptance journey and feel this is the natural next step for me. I'm working to change the stories that have blocked me. This is my way of showing myself that by putting these fears and shameful feelings out there I no longer need to feel afraid. I can still be loved and worthy even when I feel these things.

How To Embrace Diversity And Include Others Better with Andraea Lavant
In conversations of spirituality, we often talk about manifesting and how we are 100% responsible for our outcomes. It’s also important, however, to call out the fact that not everyone is given the same resources or an equal opportunity to have the best outcome for their life. In order to be truly expansive in our spirituality, we must acknowledge and accept that there are differences within all of us, but that we’re all capable of openly inviting differences into our lives.
She talks about…
Having a support system and also being a supportive friend. [8:11]
Allowing trust to guide you through uncomfortable conversations and situations. [10:35]
Broadening the scope by which diversity and inclusion are discussed. [16:56]
Including different voices and perspectives in all spaces and conversations. [19:42]
Openly inviting different people, experiences, and knowledge into your life. [23:23]
Using social media as a resource to expand your own space and explore other voices. [26:55]
Acknowledging people’s differences and giving them the space to speak for themselves. [30:39]
Being more proactive with inclusivity and being more accommodating to others. [40:19]
QUOTES
“Until it hits you close, we often don’t address it. So I think that is why the diversity narrative is so narrow.”
“Different perspectives really make us better. If you think about the people that you’ve gotten to know that are different from you, and how that has expanded every aspect of who you are, and not only for you but for other people.”
“I think it’s looking at who is already at your table and inviting more people. Inviting the people that look different.
WEEKLY AFFIRMATION
I am open and accepting of my truest self and therefore am inclusive of every soul I meet. I embrace them with love and openness.

NEW EPISODE EVERY TUESDAY
Many people struggle to love themselves when they’re in a relationship. They become so consumed with the other person they forget how to feel like themselves again. However, truly loving someone else happens only when you know how to love yourself. Today, I’m interviewing Laura Denke, a licensed marriage and family therapist, on the importance of positive self-talk and compassion when trying to foster long-lasting relationships.
She talks about...
How negative internal thoughts can often lead to relationship problems. [4:52]
Learning positive self-talk and being kind to yourself. [8:45]
Recognizing good thoughts and questioning bad thoughts. [10:21]
Being your own source of love. [14:14]
Being aware of and getting out of abusive relationships. [18:54]
How clear and effective communication lead to long-lasting relationships. [21:11]
Practices to maintain your sense of self in relationships. [23:16]
Viewing relationships as a mutual partnership. [25:09]
Knowing yourself and your own values when getting to know another person. [30:27]
The importance of being a giver and being with someone who is a giver as well. [35:08]
QUOTES
“I had done the best I could. My parents knew it, so I knew it, so I could have compassion on myself...That became a marvelous paradigm for my life, of not criticizing myself because I did the best I could.”
“Another reason that I can give myself positive self-talk is because I’m here to learn and grow, and every day is a learning and growing experience.”
“It’s about making mutual goals together...Destination-dating is learning about a person’s personality and what kind of partner they would be.”
WEEKLY AFFIRMATION
I feel an expansive, warm, never-ending love for myself. I allow myself to be open in close relationships because my trust lies in the foundation of God and the universe. And through that powerful energy, I am always safe and whole, regardless of how others deal with their own wounds.

How did you see yourself before other people’s expectations influenced you? Who did you want to be? Whether it is because of external or internal pressures, we all have had curiosities that we never gave ourselves the permission to follow. In this episode, Kimberly Spencer guides us through how she learned to listen to her intuition and live to be true to herself.
She talks about...
QUOTES
“The foundation of manifestation is living truthfully under imaginary circumstances and imagining your world better than what your past conditioning has allowed you to have.”
“Faith is imagining—imagining a greater world, a greater reality for yourself until it comes true and acting as if it is already coming true with the certainty that you are experiencing it now in the moment.”
“It really is allowing and trusting your gut, and trusting that deep-seated knowing and remembering who you are and who you always have been.”
“There is a way and a process of being able to feel and release negative emotions, and then allow them to reveal the lessons or the incongruences that need to be corrected to bring things back into alignment.”
“I felt shame then for feeling my emotions, and what shame does is, shame loves secrets...Eventually, you put on enough shame, and it shrouds that genius that always was, and we accept it.”
“That’s where shame lives. It’s in those spaces of those things that we did in our past that we are not proud of. When you have that acceptance, when you can accept the fact that that happened, whatever it was...how do you live on from that moment? What do you make that moment mean for you?”
WEEKLY AFFIRMATION
“I am giving myself permission to be authentic—no show, no manipulation. I am showing up fully present and embracing the emotions and each moment.”

Do you have ambitions that you know spark joy within you, but the thought of pursuing them scares you to your core? Today, I’m interviewing Lia Valencia Key about how she overcame the struggles of her upbringing and allowed her fears and doubts to empower her rather than stop her from following what truly brings her joy.
She talks about...
QUOTES
“Leading means: lead your life. Choose your destiny outside of where you are. Dream bigger than where you are, and in that there is the light.”
“That’s pure joy. When you can step outside of your challenges and push towards what you desire, that’s peace and joy.”
“My mindset is checking myself every moment through my actions. Thoughts and actions align and create something, and so I’m always checking.”
“When you can create something, and give some life to the world, it’s just the most challenging thing, but it’s also the most magnificent thing to give and receive energy.”

Do you notice fear interfering with your relationships and wellbeing? Today, I’m interviewing Dr. Jody Carrington about how connecting with those around you, and improving your relationships with others, can improve the relationship you have with yourself. If you are able to hold space within yourself to be empathetic towards others, it becomes much easier to be empathetic towards your own fears.
She talks about...
Aligning yourself with the things that you are passionate about. [4:15]
Recognizing your fears and staying in your space bravely. [6:41]
Searching for what brings you joy and gratitude. [13:34]
Strengthening the bonds you have with your communities. [14:18]
Being truthful to yourself about what truly resonates with you, and what doesn’t. [16:33]
Slowing down, allowing stillness in your life, and just “being”. [18:01]
The importance of face-to-face interactions when fostering interpersonal relationships. [20:44]
Asserting boundaries within your relationships, but also holding space for others. [26:44]
How your relationships can help you ground and regulate your emotions. [34:45]
QUOTES
“Fear of success is the fear of responsibility.”
“The definition of doing something, and being brave, is doing something where you can’t predict the outcome. That’s what brave is.”
“The best leaders on the planet have the capacity to excavate the unsaid...We’re so inclined to fix. And to get it. And to offer strategies and solutions and suggestions, and what we don’t do very well is sit with the hard stuff.”
“We are wired to do hard things. Whatever you have on your plate right now, you are wired for it. You only survive those hard things so much better when you remember this: we are wired for connection.”
WEEKLY AFFIRMATION
I feel safe within the space of myself. I courageously, and playfully, follow my curiosities and embrace what feels good to me.

What does it mean to have true, authentic power? It’s not the same kind of power that politics, economies, or societies use. In this fascinating episode, we're talking about the difference between external power and authentic power, how each may manifest in your life, and how to start using this knowledge practically. If you can learn to view power as something that’s manifested within, then you allow yourself to learn and grow from your environment, rather than feel limited and threatened by it.

One of my favorite conversations to have with ambitious yet overwhelmed women is about the difference between time management and time ownership. Most people don’t realize that not knowing the difference is one of the biggest reasons they’re drowning in their life and work.
It’s a simple yet powerful mindset shift that once made will change how you spend your time. The first step is realizing the difference between time managing and time owning, then wanting to become a person who owns their time by making that part of your identity, which then snowballs into doing the action necessary to match it.
