SMEs make up 99% of Singapore’s enterprises, employ two-thirds of the workforce and account for about half of Singapore’s GDP, according to a 2017 government note. SMEs are the engine behind our workforce, yet they are under-served in their corporate healthcare benefits – being unable to find budget-friendly basic insurance plans for employees. Traditionally, corporate insurance products typically only offer outpatient and inpatient insurance together as a costly bundle. Because of the price point, these are often not accessible or appealing to SME employers.
