Let's talk about how the Bible approaches community decision-making and how men calling themselves pastors in a certain small, rotten, circle are all parroting the same propaganda against women voting.
I discuss the actual flaws with the 19th amendment, and how men in Dale Partridge (and the people he's doing his best to ingratiate himself to) are using this discussion as an opportunity to manipulate their following.
In the video I analyze, Dale claims to believe the Biblical model of household voting, while blatantly contradicting himself. We can only reasonably conclude his clickbait video was either solely meant to get clicks with inflammatory attacks, or agitate already mentally unstable young men against women.
I also dive a little into Dale's controversy-ridden past and consider if a pastor really should be acting this way.

The debate around the 19th Amendment has exploded, with many so-called conservative Christians arguing that women should not be allowed to vote. But what if their "masculine" solution is actually rooted in a hatred of masculine responsibility, and the very same sin that Adam committed toward Eve?
In this video, I break down the profound error at the heart of the "no women voting" movement. We'll explore why men who demand authority while refusing to take responsibility for the sins of the women they are responsible for are not masculine—they are effeminate. The solution isn't more effeminacy and feminism though more hatred of true femininity.
The solution is gladly accepting sacrificial responsibility.

Whoever controls the dictionary controls you. And if you lose the meaning of major beliefs or values, you lose the beliefs and values themselves. It's massively important to not only call ourselves the right thing, but it's equally important to be able to articulate what those right things are.
If we can't do that, we lose our anchor to reality itself and we'll be pulled around wherever the culture wants to take us. Which is never anywhere good.
In this episode I discuss how we should think about, and be able to define, the components of our worldview, and I give 3 major examples that should be important for Christian Conservatives.

Russell Moore recently was on a podcast on Christianity Today where he commented on the CNN Doug Wilson interview, saying that people he's encountered who are into "Doug Wilson stuff" are losers.
He's been met with an appropriate amount of criticism and mockery for his hasty insult. But he is noticing a real problem. Moore isn't the person this criticism should be coming from though (splinters and logs), and his own theology is so twisted up, he doesn't know exactly to who to point the finger at.

There has been a growing radical movement pretending to be Christian and Right Wing that's been growing under our noses, and it's becoming more obvious every day. Continuing our series on the manipulation of language, I'm looking at the intentional twisting of the word slander. This has been on my list for months to talk about.
More and more, (shockingly, even in the Christian sphere) people are calling any public criticism “slander”—not because it’s false, but because it’s uncomfortable.

We learned a lot in recent years about the limits of authority of the civil government. But a lot of people have completely failed to carry that over into other spheres, and instead believe that while governments are very limited, husbands evidently have boundless authority in their homes. The Bible's call to submit to the government does not give the government unlimited authority over anything they want. Similarly, the Bible's call for wives to submit to their husbands doesn't actually give husbands unlimited authority either.
So how do we draw the line? I specifically discuss the claim that authorities should always be obeyed unless they call us to sin, and why it's false. As well as some pastors who seem to be enabling tyranny and creating weak Christians, and more.

The newly released Antioch Declaration is causing waves on the internet.
The Antioch Declaration is a statement made by a group of respected Christian pastors and leaders, urging resistance against contemporary racial ideologies that they view as incompatible with the gospel. It addresses concerns over secular narratives, identity politics, and the rise of new cultural ideologies that they believe threaten biblical teachings. The declaration emphasizes the need to uphold Christian truth in the face of societal and political shifts, calling for unity under the authority of Scripture and opposing antisemitism, scapegoating, and secularism's influence in the Church.
In this episode we read through the Declaration and discuss each point, and the possible controversies that may arise from it. We also discuss the potential disagreements that will arise and the kinds of people who will likely disagree.
Spoiler alert - when people get upset at calling actual racism bad, they're probably actually racists.

Critical Race Theory and this "new" ideology smearing across social media recently are two sides of the same coin. Those of us who know how to spot unbiblical nonsense like CRT should be well tuned to resist this newest attack on Christianity, disguising itself as patriotism and love for neighbor. Just like the Left called vaccines loving your neighbor, and DEI loving your neighbor, and "reproductive rights" is loving your neighbor, this ideology on the "Right" is gaslighting believers into believing hating your neighbor is loving them. How long until it's on the doorsteps of your churches, and slithering its way into you pulpits just like CRT did? We should crush this nonsense now while we still can. Don't allow more churches to divide and crumble exactly like so many did over the past few years over the exact same stuff.

It's enormously important to remember the battles we fought and how it shaped us and our theology. Especially the ones in recent memory. It's even more important to apply what we learned from those battles to our lives today and not fall into the same ideology that shaped our enemies. There's a ditch on both sides of the road and we shouldn't run so fast away from one that we fall into the other one.

Doesn't God's word have to get filtered through something? It could be us individually, or the culture, the church, a prophet, etc. according to most religions. Harrison Butker said a lot of great things in his speech. Got got a lot wrong too. But it’s honestly great seeing the Left straw man and attack basic obvious truths. Harrison never said that women can’t have jobs or shouldn’t have careers. He merely said that being a homemaker is an incredibly valuable profession. Which is true.
💥 Here’s why this is blowing up 💥 If a theologian gave this speech to this Catholic school, the Left wouldn’t bat an eye. But my theory about why this is blowing up, is because football (and sports in general) is 100% an idol for secular America. We don’t like it when our sacred spaces are profaned. And when truth sets foot near the sacred space of football, the claws come out.
If only Christians were so vehement about keeping sin out of our own sacred spaces.

Divine Simplicity is a doctrine of God that's been turned into a Frankenstein's monster of theology stitched together with pagan philosophy and forced back into the Bible. In this episode I discuss the difference between evidentialism, which I wholeheartedly embraced when I was younger, and presuppositional appologetics, which I'm coming to love in recent years.
These two options aren't only arbitrary approaches to apologetics, but reveal deeper theological truths. Does evidence prove God? Or do we all have an innate knowledge of God like Scripture says? In reality, a consistent Christian must be presuppositional, and we can do this while still studying the evidence that exists for various theological truths.

In exegetical expository preaching, or preaching from the text to explain the meaning of the text, there are two main views on application. One view is that we should stick only to what the text says and avoid application. The other view is that we should feel free to carry the text to new places and apply it to the lives of the congregation. Often, we Christians can find ourselves having more loyalty to Christian teachers, pastors, churches, and organizations, than we do to God. We think we're honoring God above all when we've fallen into honoring something else above all. The way we do this is often hard to spot, especially in ourselves, but also in others. A good sign that something is twisted is our reaction to when the teachers we respect come under attack. I give examples and talk about how to properly order our loyalties.

In this follow up to the events in the previous episode, a prolific professor at Midwestern Seminary doubles down on CRT by "repudiating" the bad parts, refusing to explain what those are, and not denying CRT outright. This exposes a deep problem of a love of the culture more than the Word of God. If we apply this line of reasoning to any other bad ideology we'd immediately recognize how subversive the tactic is and frightening it is that people like this are teaching the next generation of pastors.

We can all agree that racism is bad. Not just racism on one side of the social spectrum, but on all sides. So let's hold those accountable who say they hate racism and then go on to call everyone of a certain race racist. The hypocrisy couldn't be more obvious to everyone but them. In other words, they deny critical race theory only in words, but their actions speak far louder.
What's worse, the organizations doing this include Christian organizations, churches, schools, and seminaries. This episode focuses in on the things going on in the seminaries who consider themselves the most "conservative."

There's an issue with our perception of missionaries and missions work in the West. It seems to have been a slow decline, not necessarily in the desire of people to be missionaries, but in the spiritual condition of America and the increasing need for faithful Christians to be missionaries to our own cities.
Much of short term missions and long term missions have both different and overlapping problems, but a Christian who wants to spend their time and resources traveling across the world to share the Gospel when the spiritual condition of our nations are collapsing out from under us reveals a theological hole.
In this episode I talk about my own experience as someone who has taken short term mission trips and has lived in another country for missions work, and share the experiences of people I know, and discuss the Biblical solution to these problems and the right way we ought to look at the necessity of missions work and bringing the Gospel to the ends of the earth.

The whole West has fallen into basing reality on their subjective feelings. Christians have been doing this for a long time. Basing our beliefs on our feelings doesn't only create the idea that there are a billion and one genders, but it also destroys our faith. What's worse, it can even make us feel like we're close to God and doing exactly the right thing. But when Christians seek feeling God over knowing the truth of His Word, we can even validate other religions.
Knowing God has nothing to do with our feelings. Feelings are secondary to the knowledge of God. Feelings aren't bad things. They make our relationship with God enjoyable. But if you know God, you can have access to those feelings. But if you seek to feel God alone, you can't possibly know Him, so you lose both the salvation and the feelings. Seek the first and you get both. Seek the second and you lose both.

Hopefully it's obvious to faithful Christians that our nation is falling away from God and has been for a long time. And now we're reaping what we've sown as a nation. One of the ways the church is reaping our increasing unfaithfulness is in the form of wokeness. Though that's not the only problem with churches. Even conservative churches can crumble under terrible leadership, an utter lack of willingness to confront sin, and a softness that leaves their members with a vague and weak theology that won't save.
The root of every issue is the same. Unfaithfulness to Scripture. An unwillingness to follow God's Word, either intentionally or ignorantly. The solution to this is a cultural return to loving the Word of God. Think about what a church community should really be. We're family right? Aren't we as Christians brothers and sisters in the greatest family who's father is the creator of the universe? If that's the case, how come someone can walk in a church and no one says anything to them outside of a "Hi" at the door and a "Thanks for coming" on the way out. How come we aren't living life together in tight-knit communities where we actually act like we care about each other, spending time with each other often, filling each other's needs, and discipling and praying for each other like a real family should? The obvious answer is that we're failing tremendously at actually treating our brothers and sisters like brothers and sisters. A church without a solid community isn't simply something to say "oh well" at. Community isn't a bonus if a church has it but still fine if it doesn't. A church without a Christian community is doing something terribly wrong and that points back to serious flaws in their theology and teaching. We must fix this problem in our churches and in our own lives.

I've noticed professing Christians admonish other Christians, myself included, by saying "Yeah, but you're not Jesus" when a faithful Christian tries to argue for faithfully imitating Christ. Watch out for this happening. There's no reason any professing Christian should ever say this to anyone unless they're trying to walk on water. It is simply an attack by those who hate the Word of God.

We're doubling up on episodes this week with a story of a censored and deplatformed health conference my wife and I volunteered at. This week we explore a local vaccine and mask mandate protest and interview some of the protestors, asking them questions about the purpose of the freedom rally and their motivations behind participating. Ed Litton's back in the news for lying to cover up all the old lies. Big surprise. Let's examine his claims and see if he really has super powers like he said, or if he is just trying to make himself look good. In the end, the only real solution for Ed is to repent and resign (since it can pretty easily be concluded that he's not qualified for pastoring due to the inability to create and preach his own sermons) and for the rest of the SBC to likewise repent, remove their evil leaders, and find some faithful ones.

While our country used to be proudly known as a Christian nation, currently it's no shock that it's now often labeled post-Christian. But not only is our society post Christian, but I argue it's flat out anti-Christian. Christian values now have no place in the public square. Merely affirming the most basic of Christian doctrines in some countries can get you fined, fired, thrown in jail, attacked, or worse.

Of course as Christians we need to affirm that the Bible is the Word of God and therefore true. We also must recognize that each and every passage has a meaning that we can learn. But sometimes we get that meaning wrong. Each and every one of us is guilty of this in some way or another. So how do we treat our own understanding of the Bible as true while recognizing the possibility that we're getting something wrong?

Most Christians would say that we ought to obviously follow our conscience in areas where the Bible doesn't give us specific instruction. Conscience has a serious place in our behavior. But let's see how quickly Christians abandon this Biblical view whenever it forces them to allow people freedom to make choices they don't like.

Looking back at the past year, we can judge very easily where the loyalties of certain Christians lie between God and man. Obviously we want Christians and churches to be loyal to God above all, but looking back at the actions of many churches through the pandemic will make very clear if their loyalty actually lies with God first or with men first.

Many states and cities, including my own, are dissolving the strict masking mandates, and as a result, loads of people are relieved to finally be allowed to take their masks off. But there's a serious problem in this.
The problem is in the unbelievable hypocrisy of taking your masks off when the thing going around right now is just as dangerous as it always was - not much. Exactly the same arguments apply right now to wearing masks as they did a week ago, 6 months ago, and a year ago.
This is even worse in churches, because it reveals who they really serve. A church who ceases their masking requirements merely because someone tweeted something earlier today, this shows that they are not primarily beholden to the Word of God, to their elders, or to the voice of the congregation, but to an old man sitting in a big chair in the white house who's lucky when he can barely form a coherent thought. These churches don't primarily follow God. They follow their Lord Government.
Steven Furtick is the lead pastor of Elevation church, the very same church that is the home of Elevation Worship. This episode and the next will analyze Furtick's preaching and answer if Christians should be listening to him. The following episode will discuss the ramifications of the teaching on their worship music and answer the question if Christians should even be listening to the music they produce or playing it in their churches.

The Gospel Coalition contains some good content. But it also contains lots and lots of bad content, including the article we discuss in this episode. If your church regularly allows people behind the pulpit who preach that Scripture shouldn't be taken seriously, that the Bible shouldn't be followed, and that we should disregard loving God, that would speak pretty poorly to the condition of the church. Well the Gospel Coalition allows this to happen all the time with articles like these, and wraps them articles up in a deceptive warm cuddly blanket that looks an awful lot like good exegesis but turns out being bad hermeneutics and arrongance. This is the Gospel Coalition.

Logic is an important study that everyone should have at least a basic knowledge of. This includes fallacies. Fallacy simply means a mistake in reasoning. Fallacies, when we can see them, can help us see when someone is saying something that isn't true. This leads to people properly avoiding these mistakes.
However, people can also incorrectly call something a fallacy that isn't. One of the most common examples of this is the fallacy known as ad hominem. Ad hominem usually refers to "name calling," or making a statement about the person arguing instead of the argument. However, we see all over the Bible making direct and often offensive claims about people, and sometimes even calling them names. However, they do this while also attacking the argument they're up against. This should tell us that name calling isn't always a fallacy, and can potentially be used appropriately to accentuate a point. When we argue biblically, we should be ready to defend ourselves from claims that we're just "name calling" when we are really pointing out truth.

The real thing causing all of the chaos in our world around these events is a perversion of justice, making people use things like this for their own ideological and political gain. With many places in the world continuing to lock down churches, prevent worship, and even jail pastors for being faithful to God's Word, Christians need to understand that righteous disobedience is necessary in times like these.
In fact, there's a long tradition in Christianity of faithful men and women resisting tyranny in Godly ways. This is the standard. It is the expectation. Giving into evil rulers in spite of God's Word is not Christian. This must be corrected in our modern spineless Christian culture.

We as Christians need to start testing what our Pastors say with Scripture. Cody gives an example of a very unbiblical message from a preacher he heard over the weekend and compares his version of repentance, and many other people-pleasing preachers, to the Bible's actual definition of repentance.

Instead, we read it like a bunch of verses and skip around and rarely read the verses in context with the passage, chapter, book, or even in context with the overarching narrative of Scripture. This happens simply because this is how Christians are taught to read the bible by their pastors. If pastors know that the Bible is a story and should be read like a story instead of segmented verses, why don't they teach that way?

How do you read the bible? Odds are, even if you're a Christian, you don't. But if you do, you probably read the same handful of books over and over, probably the Gospels. Or perhaps you open to a random page and try to pull something out that applies to your life. If any of that is true for you, then you couldn't
be more wrong. Let's talk about the way that God intends the Bible to be read and understood.
In this episode, we discuss the overarching narrative of scripture and how to articulate it, the doctrine of inspiration, and ways that Christians fail at reading the bible. It's important to understand what scripture is so we can value it and consume it the way that God intends. It's also important to be able to reflect on our failures in reading Scripture so that we can learn better from it and be able to align ourselves more with the lives that God wants us to live.

What does the word pastor mean? In this episode we look at the biblical definition of pastor and compare that to our modern Christian understanding and see what doesn't fit. In fact, many pastors aren't pastors at all, and that may end up being a serious problem for your church, but also for the faith and spiritual well being of the individuals in your church.
We see Christians filling churches every Sunday who lack fundamental understanding of their faith and who aren't being properly fed and cared for. This is due to many churches' poor leadership, which is ultimately due to our poor understanding of the requirements of church leaders and pastors. We need to start caring for other Christians more and taking initiative in our own faiths as well to make sure we are cared for. Pastoring is a hugely important thing in our faith and a necessary part of the body of Christ, and we need to understand properly what that means so we can be stronger Christians.

Feelings, emotions, and our own desires and inclinations play a large role in our faiths. Probably a much larger role than we’re aware of. We want to feel God. We want to feel like God is real and that he loves us and that Jesus really lives, died, and came back to life. But what about when we don’t feel those things?
In this episode, we discuss western Christians’ tendency to emphasize individualism and it’s impact on our faith. We also talk about our culture’s perception as of a couple of God’s characteristics, imminence and transcendence, and how that relates to the place of feelings in our faith as well.
It turns out that our culture generally takes an opposite perspective on the importance of feelings in faith than the Bible. Let’s fix that.

Faith requires challenges. We need to inoculate ourselves as Christians against challenges the world will throw at us by educating ourselves. We should know how to explain good reasons for why God exists, why the Bible is reliable, and why Jesus really came back to life after he died.
