The focus for this year is Resilient Together. Learning Resilient love for one another and to a broken world! To be Resilient Together we must first focus on what it takes to be deeply Rooted beneath The Surface together. We want strong Resilient roots that connect, so we must Let God's Light In beneath the surface. We get out of the world, but rarely do we get the world out of us. The darkness in us hides the things that lead to actions which destroy relationships. In this intro message we want to stir passion to go after the darkness which only seeks after self gratification and transform it to light of self sacrificial love.

Our Prayer for 2024 is Together! Join us as we hear a prophetic word of calling to expand in love to those far from God. We must pray promise over problem!

We are not born with Joy. We cannot self-manufacture joy. Joy a choice, to get close to the source of joy to experience it! We want to Rediscover the Heart of joy: What is the foundation of Joy? & How do we sustain joy?

One of the great promises included in Messiah’s coming was that of world peace. Ironically, it seems to be the most unattainable at times. In fact, there are several wars taking place at this very moment as well as the threat of even more breaking out. In spite of that, Scripture encourages us to believe that ultimately, the Kingdom of God will advance, and world peace will be realized. So how does this work out?

Advent means “to come”. We remember God’s coming to us in Jesus. Looking back to the first coming to inform us in our waiting of His second coming. In this season of waiting, we bring to the surface our longings. The ache that our life & world is not as it should be. Over the next 4 weeks we will highlight the 4 felt experiences Jesus brought, Hope, Peace, Joy, Love. How do we renewal our hope in this season of longing?

Have you ever thought about how your words impact your promises? Take courage was the repeating words of God to Joshua as they looked to enter God’s promise. The reason being something else had taken hold of them to prevent the promise, “Complaining”. We don’t often think of complaining as a sin. Yet it was the repetition of this action which held Israel in the desert. To be clear we are not talking about sharing your pains in looking for help. But complaining that has a tone of whining. The critical spirit, nothing will be ever good enough, murmuring. How do we become people of courage to take God's promise land in our lives?

Right now, you are a result of what you have allowed to cultivate in your life. We never cease acting like a sponge which absorbs all types of information. The skills you have focused on, the habits you live in, the memories you meditate on & future expectations you live by. All producing fruits for your benefit & hinderance in life. God has a desire of fruit He wants to produce in you! What is it and how can we produce it?

To be a people of renewal is to be rooted, seeking the flourishment of our worlds. Throughout history Christian men & women have rooted themselves in an area. Engaging culture with the gospel story of renewal through justice, serving, education etc. To be rooted for renewal in our lives we must have scared roots in a secular soil. So how does this happen?

The Story you live in is the story you will live out. Story drives how we see the world. Ask yourself what is God’s story? What is God doing right now? We may think just saving souls! Framed by the story we are sinful people in need of salvation. That is only part of the story, there is a story before & after that. What is the story we should be living for? How do we do that?

Life in this broken world provides many opportunities for pain. Our pain comes from many sources which can be reduced to the following: family generational patterns, death and loss, hurtful words, lack of affirmation, shame and embarrassment, unfulfilled expectations, physical abuse, sexual abuse, abandonment, neglect, and spiritual abuse. Satan’s hatred for us is based primarily on the fact that mankind was created to bear the image of our Creator God. He does not want us to know who we really are and to reflect the image of God on this earth. Jesus affirms we will have trouble in this world, yet He has overcome it! What does healing of the heart look like?

(Apologies for the sound issues for the first 8mins)The great ache of our age, thou more connected than ever, is to have someone physically present. Emotional health is not just about your own self peace but being compelled to have skin in the game for another. In this message we look at how our emotions can become the containers for compassion. We also take time to talk about the launch of our new prayer room!

“You cannot be spiritually mature while remaining emotionally immature” – Pete Scazzero. Emotional discipleship has often been the missing piece to seeing holistic growth in Christians. 2 views have opposed this. Emotions are bad (unable to control, shame attached to sharing of emotions) so avoid & work it out in your head. Or today’s message, “follow your feelings”. We are told the truest thing about you is your feelings, so let them lead. Rather than avoid we embrace. Experiencing instability and being continually overwhelmed. Neither extreme is helpful.

As we focus on growing in Wholeness, how did Jesus live with Emotions?

Our will is something that we seem to give little thought to. We are so used to just doing what we want to in our day-to-day lives that we seldom think about the need for wholeness in our will. In this teaching from Pastor Craig we look at the gift the will is and how we are to focus it.

We process about 70,000 thoughts a day! 45,000 being negative. There is a war on your mind! In the book “Coddling of the American mind” the point is made that there is an ever-increasing protection from challenging or different thinking, creating fragile minds. A Loving mind is no longer stronger together, but instead remove, cancel, escape different thinking. What does it mean to have a mind of love?

We all carry a desire for change. To want better for our bodies, relationships, spiritual walks etc. It’s easy to be filled with shame! “I am not where I should be; Why can’t I overcome this problem; Why can’t I be more like (fill in the blank)”. The reality is personal growth takes time and a whole-body alignment of mind, body & spirit.

But change is possible through His power, Our Action, The Vision

Celebration is focus before it’s a feeling. Every day we get to choose how we are going to see the world and our situation. Finding a reason to celebrate or to laugh is not always easy, life if full of suffering and pain. Searching out reasons to party therefore is a choice. A practice.

I Need Others. Others Need Me.

Many of us want guidance from God… for ourselves. We pray and wait for an answer, wanting God to show us in a dream, vision, or prophetic word. God does talk to us this way, but He also guides corporately through the body of Christ.

Why is the practice of guidance in community so needed for us?

Confession of sin has been a controversial topic for generations though the Scriptures are quite clear on its function. The word “confession” comes from the Greek language and literally means, “to say the same thing.” Confession is simply agreeing with what God says about something or someone.

There are two ways in which confession is practiced. The first, and the most obvious, is that of confessing our sins to God. Most believers instinctively know to do that, likely because our salvation journey begins with our confessing our sins and confessing that Jesus is Lord. From that moment on, believers will sense the conviction of the Holy Spirit when they stumble and will feel the need to ask God’s forgiveness for the specific way they have acted, thought, or spoken.

The second, and more controversial practice in confession, is that of confessing our sins to one another. For obvious reasons, this is more difficult because while we confess to God in secret, involving others gets a bit scary. Yet scripture makes it clear in James 5 that confessing to one another is directly connected to receiving God’s healing. If we are to live in full obedience to the Lord, we must get past our discomfort and give place to this important practice. When we discover and practice some practical ways to do this, the Body of Christ will be released into a new level of freedom and joy.

Worship is a human thing. Attention is the beginning of worship! We give attention to what is meaningful, what feels good, what gives us purpose. We then build habits around these values. Habits change us. What we give our attention to changes us! The practice of worship is to acknowledge we have been giving our attention/worship to different values. But now we come to realign our worship to the one who matters. The One we want to be like. But do we really know the goal of worship?

Life is moving along at warp speed. Many had hoped that the increase in our ability to communicate via social media would help us to slow the pace down. It has done the opposite! We never see Jesus nervous and rushed, even in the midst of His demanding ministry. This is partly due to the fact that He took the necessary time for silence and solitude. We examine the WHY and give some practical advice on HOW to participate in this practice which has become uncommon in modern Christianity.

Many people like the idea of taking time to rest but find it very difficult in the busyness of life. There's always something to do, fix, progress, or improve. What if resting & delighting in God was more important, better & easier than you think!

We cannot decide what we want, so we want it all! We overbook, overcommit, overspend, in a hope we will find peace in it all. Yet anxiety continues to rise in our nation.

How can Jesus' call to Simplicity (A single-hearted focus on God & His Kingdom) bring us freedom from a culture of consumption?

Freedom isn’t the ability to do whatever you want. That’s slavery. Freedom is the ability to live in the Spirit and want what the Spirit wants. Why is the practice of Fasting so vital for this action?

Meditation in Scripture is a vital part of a disciplines of the Christian life. Sadly, it has become a lost practice among many believers. Today we look the how & why of Scripture Meditation.

Our first focus of practice is prayer. Talking to God is the most fundamental action to our spiritual walk and shaping of our inward being, yet is it something we fully live into?

Dallas Willard said this, "We intend what is right, but we avoid the life that would make it a reality."

This message "Power of Practice" helps set up the journey for the coming weeks, as we look at the importance of practice that helps us to follow Jesus together.

Following Jesus starts in this most unlikely place… YOUR DESIRES. Jesus’ first red letter words in the Gospel of John are “What do you want?” Jesus knows we are desire driven beings. It is the vehicle which empowers change. Yet many suppress them in attempt to manage the unfilled & unknown desires. Jesus wants to reshape your desires to become your true self in Christ. But how?

The Holy Spirit is the "called alongside" one. The Helper/Advocate. But what is His first action of the one who comes along side us?

Another death, another abuse, another racial discrimination, another overdose, another war, another lie. As we witness these things, there is a feeling that wells up. “I want to escape.”The Story of Heaven has been used this way. Earth is a bad place but one day we will get to go to the good place… just hold on. But what if just living for a one-day experience is causing you to be spiritually anemic? That faith has become boring because you reduce it down to fire insurance. Is this really what heaven is all about? Does Jesus hold this view of heaven?

Jubilee: The Reset Button

The subject of Sabbath rest has it’s beginning in the first pages of Scripture as the days of creation unfold and God rested on the 7th day. The practice is then commanded by God and carried on in the children of Israel, holding a prominent place in Leviticus. The writer then spends the last few chapters (25-27) expanding the idea of Sabbath by introducing the Sabbath Year and the Jubilee, which was an unusual celebration that is amazing in its scope. Debts were forgiven, prisoners set free, and the entire economic structure was reset. It could be called a “divine reset button” that took place every 50 years. Israel’s failure to honor the Sabbaths brought devastation to them as a nation. As with most of the Old Testament, these things were “shadows” of what was to come. Jesus brought about the true fulfillment. This message explores the Sabbath Year and the Year of Jubilee, showing how Jesus Himself fulfilled them in His saving work.

Perhaps our greatest temptation today is to fall into the trap of thinking that we earn God’s approval by our works. We live in a day when performance-based Christianity dominates the spiritual landscape. Sabbath humbles us. When God invites us to Sabbath rest, He is asking us to stop striving and to rest in what Christ has already done for us. This message will challenge you to enter into the rest that Jesus provided.

In the final section of Leviticus God looks to reform our lives. The next up is time. Time is the most valuable resource we have! How we use it says a lot about us. What does God have mind for it?

We are all born with desires, a fire that drives us. From the first moment we enter the world, we come crying & longing for comfort that never stops! Desires are a gift from God that must be focused. But how? Why do we need them really?

Every day we are faced with unimaginable human devastation to one another. It’s more than just bad upbringing or cultural evil shaping minds. We have a condition which is distorting us. Sin is our root issue. We explore the center of Leviticus, the center of the Torah, the heart of God! What is sin? How do we deal with it?

We are rocking out in the most strange part of Leviticus. The Purity Laws! Food, Birth, Skin Diseases, Mold, and Sex! What do these all mean? Does it hold meaning for me today?

Our worlds feel like a fight to be chosen. To be seen, affirmed & loved. We hustle, we maintain the right appearance, living an exhausting walk of self-promotion. What does Holy Love have to say about this?

For any relationship to flourish there must be materials brought to burn. These materials are time, energy, giving of abilities, etc. Relationships die when offerings are not made, when we don’t give of ourselves. This is the same with God and issue we find in our spiritual walk when we don't give fully of who we are. Is there anything burning in your life? What stops us burning?

One of the most beautiful expressions in humanity is sacrificial love! God gave it all for us and has come close. The 5 offerings which bring us close to God have a theme of surrender! This physical action of sacrifice is not what God desires but an obedient and surrendered heart. What does this mean for us as followers of Jesus?

The current achievement culture is obsessed with what we can do. The self-help, self-made which breeds self-reliance! I can pay it, earn it, get it! But this is counter to the Gospel. There is a gift that draws us near outside of ourselves! Join us as we jump back into Leviticus!

In our season of coming back to “The First Love”, a chance for us to reignite our passion for God. Our inspiration comes from the most miss understood love story, the book of Leviticus (yes you read that right). THE LONGING FOR PEACE

In our world today, we still see nations against nations, people against people, natural disasters, sickness, and diseases that feel very far from peace.

Peace could be summarized as the absence of interruption, conflict, and disruption – the absence of anything other than pure tranquility. But God's vision for peace is so much more.

God is love. Love is not something that He has, rather love is who He is! So what does that mean for us in the longings of life?

As we celebrate the Arrivals of Jesus in advent. We look to what it means to wait well for His coming Kingdom. What does it means too long in hope?

It was a joy to have guest speaker Eric Ferguson with us! He gave a timely word to our church and finished our series on Generosity. Do we trust in our resources, or do we trust in the source of our resources? Generosity is not a hard thing it's a heart thing. How can we live out living in the source?

Seeking first is a God given desire because God is interested in your “First”. Scripture has a lot to say about freely prioritizing God above all other things. The reality is, God wants your heart! Not what He wants from you… but for you! So how do we shift the heart with action, to be part of the generous Kingdom?

There are many treasures of material wealth that we think will define, elevate, or give worth to us. Jesus points to us these treasures will waste away but there is another treasure which will not. Where our treasure is so will our heart also be! What are the right treasures? How do we shift our heart to them?

What is it within us that fears there is not enough? What drives us to hoard? One of the trade marks of the Kingdom is "it is more blessed to give than receive."

How do we reconcile our own brokenness and live in the way of the Kingdom?

What is your quiet time producing in you? The conversion in Solitude is where real encounters with God can occur but does it cause us to re-enter to self love or greater love of others? We look at the life of Jesus and how His life in solitude produces feeding for many.

What are you doing here? When you finally find space to be alone, removing distractions, the needs of the to do list. We find deeper questions come to the surface. For many the self-reflection questions are either too deep or scary to process. But what if instead of running, we held our feelings? Naming them to change them, which would lead us to a deeper knowing of God & ourselves.

The Rich young ruler teaches that not everyones who's lives say they love God, are fully devoted to Him. How do we develop a desire of full obedience?

We can hear God! The heart of the Father is always to be in community with us! How do we hear God and why is it so hard?

There is an agenda for your soul… A noise so prolonged, words so endless… We don’t even notice its pull shaping our being. We need a counter cultural way that stops us from being distracted into oblivion. Over the next few weeks we will be looking at the importance of Silence & Solitude to form us into a truer way of love.

“There is a difference between forming ourselves and being formed, the issue is control.” We kick off our vision series reminding ourselves was it means to be a transforming people.

We have many doors of wants but there is one door that fulfills your deepest desires. Jesus' call to pray "Your Kingdom Come" is not just a nice invitation but a door way of life which brings life and life to the full. How do we keep our hands to this door?

Jesus had an uncanny ability to turn enemies into guests and guests into family. One of the great challenges we face in the US is the ever-increasing divided ideology. Many of us losing relationships as our culture is quicker than ever to disregard, divide, and demonize one another. We need to remind ourselves of the Jesus who welcomed the outsider which is transformed lives.

To experience healthy relationships and real belonging we must navigate difficult conversations. The issue is we have all been mentored by family & culture on how to do conflict. This has led for us to either choosing false peace or fighting dirty. To be children of His kingdom we must become peacemakers, so how?

We all like to think we are self-aware people. How we feel and how we are received by others. Studies show up to 15% of people are self-aware. That’s a lot of unaware people. Being self-aware is an important part of belonging! To be able to love others well and know how we fit in community. The reality is there are hurdles to this journey of self-discovery which hinders the progression of true self.

Great to have an update on the School of Hope Mission in Dominican Republic. Cherilyn also brought a great word! We can be faced with many challenges but what is priority? Jesus calls us to a challenge which puts all other challenges in their place. The challenge of Servanthood. The Kingdom of heaven defines one who serves as great, if we want to imitate Jesus we must serve.

Community is one of the greatest containers for growth in the life of the believer. To belong is to be devoted to practice over preference. Preference feels like mind reading, where practice means engaging and gaining clarity. This is honoring to another. So how do we walk this out?

We all have a backpack of responsibilities in relationships and work. These responsibilities easily turn from a manageable backpack to an overwhelming burden. We fear being a burden yet to bear another's burden is a key foundation to seeing the Kingdom realized and discovery of our true selves. So how do we walk this out?

We are faced with an ever-increasing issue of loneliness in this culture. We experience welcoming, hospitality, agreement on values, yet we barely know or like each other…The church is in danger of becoming a lonely crowd. Why is this happening and what does it mean to belong?

It is strange that while the Bible has so much to say about spiritual conflict, so many Christians and entire denominations want to ignore it altogether. We need to have an understanding of how the demonic realm gains entrance in our lives and what we can do about it. Christians are not immune to this. It is possible to be positionally in Christ yet have areas of our hearts that are occupied by the enemy. Thankfully, we have been given all of the tools that we need to live in freedom.

Celebrate lives changed with us as we hear and experience God's transformative work!

Healing is not just individual work, it takes a community. In today's message as we learn to relax into Jesus healing authority. What does that look like in community?

Prophecy as said by Wayne Grudem is “Speaking what God spontaneously brings to mind”. Through the Spirit we have been given the mind of Christ in which God speaks through. Today we got to hear from different voices on what that looks like and how.

In our first practice of the Holy Spirit we look at the gift of tongues. The most misunderstood gift a "private language of love". What is it and how does it aid my life? Is it essential?

We all hunger for something yet hear the cry “But I still haven’t found what I’m looking for.” Billy Graham once said, “The most desperate need of the nation today is that men and women who profess Jesus be filled with the Spirit. Our infinite hunger is only filled with a life in the Spirit.

Spiritual life is not a demand but a desire, how do we live this out?

As we wake up, we breathe in content, words, images, the news of the day. Out of that breath, we breathe word and action into our worlds. Yet with all our breath our worlds can feel like a deflated balloon. Something that looked good but now is a shadow of what it once was. We need a life of a Spirit empowered breath!

Mother's Day can be a lonely day for many, even those who are mothers. If you are motherless, childless, or a Mom struggling to make it, the day might make you feel like a misfit. This message is encouragement for all who struggle in this space.

All of us can relate to the phrase "Unfinished Projects" because most of us see them in front of us on a regular basis. Our spiritual walks are the same, yet we have a gift in the Holy Spirit who slowly brings together our greatest project "Christ Likeness".

As we continue to know the Holy Spirit through scripture's metaphors we see more His role in our lives and the life to live.

The unexpected comes into our world and like the disciples on resurrection Sunday, we can ask where is Jesus? This is not what I had planned. But what if the disillusionment is in fact a gift of revealing the illusion we lived under. What if the unexpected Resurrection is a journey we must all take in "Trusting Beyond Knowing"?

As we continue to understand who the Holy Spirit is, we look at the metaphor of water. Water in the first page of the Bible is seen as chaos yet God transforms it to hold new life. Who is the Holy Spirit in this and how does it apply to us?

To walk in the Spirit, is to experience the fruits of the Spirit. This is our greatest joy and challenge, to walk and hear Him. In this message we look at how interruptions can be a gift to experiencing the fruits of the Spirit.

We are dying to truly live, yet we die to the wrong things to truly live. We are dying to experience life, yet die giving of ourselves to the wrong things. So what should we be dying to? In Matt 10:26-42 Jesus lays out a Kingdom way of living.

"And you will hated for my name's sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved". As Jesus prepares His disciples for Kingdom work, He explains you will be persecuted because of me. Why does this happen? How do we walk faithfully?

Matt 10:9-15 - Jesus’ teaching of going into the world is more than just good evangelism. It teaches us how to walk in the world. It teaches us the power of the Simplicity of Heart, to center on one thing in a world that tries to divide our souls. So how does this happen?

“Loneliness is the leprosy of the modern world – Mother Teresa” Thou we are more connected than ever, the feeling of disconnection, of isolation is the real pandemic issue. For Jesus community is non-optional in following Him. Not laying out a list of rules but an invitation of relationship, “come follow me.” What are the road blocks to this? How do we live a Kingdom Culture of community?

What does it mean to Reign in the Kingdom of God? Many in the gospels missed it and today we still struggle with this same question.

There is an ever growing battle of Kingdom's, between God and our own kingdom. Jesus calls us to the good news of His Kingdom by Repenting and Believing. But what does that mean? What does that look like?

As Christians we are called to be bringers of the good news, yet we witness in a nation in decline of faith… From 2000-2020 45%, now to 25% actively follow Jesus…There is a connection between the decision-making good news we give, and the absent passion of following Jesus we see. I believe we have a good news problem. Do we know what Jesus calls the good news?

It’s not always “major” sin or forsaking our faith that takes us away from our First Love. It’s often much more subtle things that draw us away. If we ask God to make us aware of those things, and are intentional to contend against them, we can return, and remain, in that place of First Love.

The idea of being on the fence about a certain topic may not have huge consequences for us in our every day lives. We may be weighing options, trying to see both sides or still gathering the facts. When Jesus says you are neither cold nor hot, but lukewarm Christians, there are big consequences! Like, making him want to vomit. That is a pretty clear picture, he doesn’t want us on the fence with our faith, He is looking for pure devotions to Him.

We all have a battle of Will's. The battle of Willful (my independence) vs Willing (my surrender). Learning to assert our will is a normal development. The one who can resist the temptation, disciplined and driven in all challenges is praised. Yet when self-will is over played, we become rigid, missing out on the fullness of life we are called to. We want love without sacrifice– without the risk and expense of the surrender of self-control and determination. God cannot accept such a bargain. True love is found in surrender.

We all face the constant challenge of growing past our love for Jesus…

With just absorbing information and failing to create space to experience His real love. We are in danger of leaving our first love. What causes this to happen? How do we recapture our first love?

TRUE KING: The 3rd gift from the wise men was “Gold” representing the Kingship of Jesus. Looking back through the story of Matt 2:1-12 we see a tale of 2 kings. If you were the Wisemen, who would you call King? How do we find the true King? What is the gift of gold we can give our world?

In this series we look at the gift that Jesus is to us and the gift we can be to others. Myrrh represents the character of Jesus as a suffering servant. What does this mean for us and why should we live this out?

In this series we look at the gift that Jesus is to us and the gift we can be to others. Frankincense is a gift which shows Jesus as the high priest. The role of a priest was to represent a people to God, to reconcile others to Him. What does that mean for you and me? What does that mean for our world?

In John 10:10 Jesus promised to give abundant life to those who believe in Him. Sadly, many trust Jesus as Savior but go right back to their familiar way of living. This message is a reminder that the Christian life is more than mere existence. We are called to live in such a way that the world will be drawn to Jesus, who is the source of our life.

Thankfulness is bed rock to our culture and we as people desire to be more thankful, yet many of us have 𝗜𝗙’𝘀 & 𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗡’𝗦 in life which prevent this. But is t𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 a 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵, 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝘀 actually 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄.

Forgiveness for us all brings a story to mind… stories of rejection, abuse, cheated on, lied to, failed on… We know the words of Jesus to forgive, but in our hearts we ask the same question as Peter, “How many times". You wouldn't understand my pain Jesus... How can I find beauty in forgiveness?

Matt 7:24-27 - Have you ever stopped to think, “𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗺 𝗜 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗼𝗻?” We are creatures who love to build structures. We structure our days, our homes with purpose for success and pleasure. But what happens when the storms come? What foundations do you find? How can we build to last?

RIVERS IN THE DESERT – ISAIAH 43:16-21 This well-known passage is a promise of living water to flow in dry, baron hearts and systems of the world! But have you ever thought what causes these deserts in the first place? To know this brings more purpose for a need of a river.

What does it mean for us to be Point View Church? Transforming people. 2 Cor 3:18 we are transformed by the Spirit into Gods image, step by step. But we have a knowing, doing gap... We know what we should do, yet it rarely materializes. Your loves/desires are the bridge to move from knowing to doing... so how do we order our loves to be a bridge to the transformation we long to see?

There is always something you can’t see influencing what you can see. Paul in his final section of the letter to the Ephesians calls them to stand against not people, but the dark powers of this world with Spiritual warfare. Paul lays out what we are fighting and how we fight it.

In this section of Ephesians (6:1-9), Paul addresses healthy relationships. He begins earlier (5:21) by introducing the principle of mutual submission, then addressing how it works in marriage. Our text deals with how it works in parent/child relationships as well as with slave/master relationships. Mutual submission means that both parties are responsible to love and serve the other.

Marriage is a covenant: a permanent and personal binding commitment you make to another person. Not just declaring present love but forever love. In this section of Paul's letter we see him lay out guard rails of submission to another for flourishment. Enjoy this panel discussion as we look at what it means and how we live it out.

In this challenging yet life giving message, Pastor Jonny navigates the issues of bad imitations of God's love. We experience good and bad imitations everyday. We can tell a bad imitations on how it is made, its cheap, it breaks, and it's unfulfilling. Yet we still consume it... We need a better why to lead us to the good imitations in life.

"Loving you is a losing game" This is a counter message to what we hear today. The world says follow your heart, you do you, follow your truth. You can be whatever you want. We have moved from an age of limits to an age without limits yet we see anxiety and depression rise as people do not know who or what to be… we are slaves to our own freedom of self love. Unity – Eph 3:1-13 – A question that does not seem relevant yet is an answer to the cultural moment we face in our country. How and why did Gentiles and Jews come together? Today the stats show, the Christian faith is the most diverse religious group in the whole world and there are reasons for it. As we explore Eph 2:11-22 we come to Paul's main theme for the identity in Christ, unity. Join us as we understand what occurred between a divided people group and what it means for us today.

We continued our series through Ephesians as Paul reveals the truth of who we are in Christ. Once walking zombies now alive and made new, masterpieces created for good works! But so often our shame in life denies these realities. Be encouraged by this message from Jon Mayak!

As people who are called in Christ to unite heaven on earth, Paul launches into a prayer which is no ordinary shopping list prayer but a template for transformation in our lives and world!

Paul starts out “for this reason” all the identity language “in Christ”, shown in previous verses is to be our platform as we approach our heavenly Father in prayer. From what bases do you pray? We so often struggle in our faith from external forces but what most drives this is we forget who we are. We are sons and daughters… never forget who you are in Christ when you pray.

Paul continues I never cease to pray for you even thou the reports sound good. A heart of transformative prayer is to be one that never ceases to pray through the good and bad. But what is interesting is what Paul prays for, “ Spirit of wisdom, knowledge of Him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened.” Not I pray that your difficult circumstances be taken away but you experience Him, deeply knowing Him through your circumstances. What if you shifted your prayer to this, God I want to know you more through this difficulty?

Paul wants you to have a deep knowing in 3 areas, Hope, Inheritance & Power. As Christians we are take on a posture of hope, that my present circumstances do not define me. In Jesus, resurrection shows us that there is life in death. Therefore I pray for my hope to be in Christ alone.

Inheritance - not my inheritance or gain but God’s inheritance. As treasured possessions chosen by Him, we are to be vehicles of His blessing to the world.

Finally power! Paul wants to awaken you to a source of power you have in Jesus, which he quickly defines. Same Spirit that conquered the grave lives in you! Taking the dead broken things of the world and bringing it to life, while also having power over the spiritual darkness of this world. This sounds like being a present agent of transformation in this age!

Your words are powerful! How can you today pray for yourself and others this way?

Coming back to Eph 1:3-10 we looked at the identity of being chosen by the Father. But why were we chosen in Christ?

The World would say, from your activity comes your identity. Identity in performance, I am what I do. In possessions, I am what I have. In pleasures, I am what I want. In popularity, I am what others think of me. The danger in all of these identities is they can be taken away. Then what happens? Who will you be? Why does our identity "In Christ" matter?

We all are shaped by the story we believe. This story guides our beliefs, sets our expectations for what is possible. But is the story you follow the true one for fullness of life? We kicked off our new series "All Things New" as we journey through Ephesians this summer. Paul's letter is a manifesto, blue print to a truer story for Christian life. As you face yourself do you experience joy? Do you see yourself as God would see you, with joy? As we end this series, joy is the desired outcome, doing the work of going beneath the surface, healing the past, learning to be vulnerable, grieving. The result is a greater joy in the Lord. Yet so many things still steal our joy. We are connected to the most joyful being in the universe yet sadly this is not what the church is known for. Looking at Philippians 4:4-9 how can we live a correct & joyful life?

You cannot trust what you do not rest in... We have all sorts of trust issues, leading us to self reliance, busyness, which in turn causes a hardness of heart. Psalm 95 states in this hard heart we cannot enter Gods rest. What is Gods rest? Why is it important for our lives?

An unknown author wrote, “History is crowded with men who would be gods, but only one God who would be man.” Incarnation is a central doctrine of our faith. The way that He chose to save us was to become one of us in the person of Jesus Christ. One of His names is Immanuel meaning, “With us is God.” WITH is the key word. Everything that He does FOR us is aimed at being WITH us. So how does this impact how we are too love others?

We all experience grief & loss, from a world wide pandemic, the different transitions of life, loss of a friend, marriage or work... We are reminded of the fallen state of this world more often than we would like. Yet we do not do the work, which could bring an expansion of self & love for another. Instead we control our environment, or see it as an inconvenience to get over. How can we approach grief and loss to see it as a treasure?

Part 3 Facing Yourself – We all have an image we want people to see, confident, successful, loving, reliable etc. Our emotions are driven by the success of these appearances but what happens when it comes into question? How do you respond? Would you ever consider boasting in weakness? Why is that so important?

We are all a byproduct of our generational past. We slip into patterns of our parents good and bad. Exodus 20:5-6 God speaks to this issue we face. Generational sin can be passed down and have continued consequences which wrecks havoc in our worlds, yet his heart is too bless. How do we break the past?

Your true self is made up of five aspects – Physical, Spiritual, Intellectual, social & emotional… With one breath, God made us human. Yet, somehow, today we slice out the emotional portion. Pete Scazzero says "emotional health and spiritual maturity are inseparable. It is not possible to be spiritually mature while remaining emotionally immature.” Come join us on this journey of discovery and healing as we allow the transformation of Jesus to enrich our lives, to transform our worlds.

We have heard these words "It is finished", the very foundation of our faith, over and over again. The danger we face is becoming familiar with these words. But do we truly know what was finished? Do we rest in this finished work?

There are many things the cross holds, our sin, our suffering, have you ever thought about loneliness? Jesus spoke these words "my God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" The cross has an answer for your loneliness.

As we finished out our series "Called Out Ones" the purpose of the church, we looked at the call of Jesus for us to be Peacemakers. Matthew 5:9 “blessed are the peace makers for they shall be called children of God.” What does peace look like for us as Christians in a cultural moment more divided than ever?

The church must recapture its need for the presence of God. We are His temple!

One of the common images given in scripture for the church is “The Bride” (Eph 5:25-32, Rev 19:7-9). In each of these passages we see the desire of God to purify His bride (the church). Jesus taught in Matthew 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God”. We have all sorts of baggage with this word “Pure”. Feelings of shame, not qualified, unobtainable and the world out of all the characteristics of a Christian life, hates this one the most… Why? Todays message we look at what is purity and how do we live it out?

We kicked off our new series "Called Out Ones" this past Sunday. When Jesus first used the word "Church" in Matthew 16:18, He used the greek word Ekklesia meaning "called out ones". God is renovating the Church in this season and it is so important for us to look at its foundations. So what does it mean for the Church to be called out ones?

We all have a cynic inside of us… We never dreamt or planned it, yet we feel this jaded; keep the world at arms length mentality. It looks attractive, tough not having many hopes, wise claiming to see peoples motives and an activist raging against the systems of the world. But this self controlled shield is only a cover up to the deep trauma’s of life. Losing our anti bodies of hope to offer the world… How can the practice of celebration reverse this mindset?

In an age of contempt for another which is found to be a normal view, we must create a beautiful resistance of honor. Pastor Craig lays the issues which breed contempt, while encouraging us in a life of honor.

The teaching that brought Rome to its knees was “love your enemy” because this is the love God showed us. While we were yet sinners Christ loved us… Hate has become a description for anything that disagrees with me, while love has been reduced to what makes me feel good. Jesus calls us to a type of love which is proactive and dismantles the enemy. Today we look at how we become most like our Heavenly Father.

We live in a growing culture of exclusion... of Us & Them. We are more connected than ever in a world that has radically changed in spiritual & moral value. We long to be a culture that transforms our world, but how? In looking at the life of Jesus, we see He walked the near & far into the kingdom one meal at a time… This message looks at the power of Hospitality which must resist fear.

Baptism is the shadow of the reality of what happened to us when we met Christ. It’s an awakening to the identity of the work already done. As we celebrate Baptism Sunday we are reminded of the victory of new life in us.

Part 4 of our Beautiful Resistance series. Comfort is the great enemy of the soul. The challenge we face as Christians is living in apathy, lacking in interest or having no concern for our spiritual lives. It is not that we don’t have good intentions to be followers of Jesus! Yet these intentions often do not manifest into meaningful action. Much like a man with a dull axe trying to cut down a tree. How can we shift from ideas, to power for change?

Part 3 of our series entitled “Beautiful Resistance”. We are filled with desires, which are great motivators but when at the steering wheel of life, we fall into chaos. “We can’t get no satisfaction” because we have infinite desires in finite bodies. Jesus lays out a way of rest which is counter culture to our world of consuming, where we find satisfaction and flourishment.

Part 2 of Beautiful Resistance - this week’s theme was “worship must resist idolatry”. We are all designed to give worth-ship, for something to have our heart. The great contention in our lives is where will it be placed. We think of idols as statues and other mythical objects yet idolatry is very much alive in western culture. How do we resist in a world that is pulling for our worship?

We kicked off our new series "Beautiful Resistance". "This needs to be stronger than that..." The world is trying to disciple the church. It has a story it wants you to believe, it has practices it wants you follow, in which all end in emptiness… How do we as followers of Jesus practice a beautiful resistance?

To be constant in life we need to be grounded in something that is constant. To be consistent we need tools that our consistent and environments which can breed consistency. We find in life that what we thought was constant is not... and we are shaken... what can we build upon that is constant?

When a light shines on an object it helps bring clarity to what it is. We can shine light on good or bad things. It matters on what we illuminate as often we shine light on our actions rather than the root of our identity.

Pastor Craig continued our series on what it means that the light has come. Like the children of Israel we can put our confidence in so many different things but the light calls us to lean into His ways.

This Sunday we kicked off our new series "The Light Has Come" - in a season of trial and darkness we need reminded of a big God and the true reality of what the birth of Jesus brought. The light has come but what is it calling us too?

We finished up our series for now "A People Empowered" this past Sunday! Being witnesses to Jerusalem, your Jerusalem, your Home. We see in Acts 2:42:47 the actions of the disciples who have been filled with the Spirit have compassion for their home. We look at 3 things that we see from Acts passage that cultivates compassion.

We are empowered with a witness that overcomes and transforms this world! But quite often we our witnesses to an age of cynicism and Cancel Culture which looks to pull down another, see only the negative, question everything… and so we lose the wonder.

To be an effective witnesses we must cultivate the wonder of God to bare witness of a truer and better story! Isaiah 43:10-12 passage gives us 4 principles to follow in cultivating wonder to witness.

We see in the book of Acts followers of Jesus voices were empowered when filled with the Spirit! Our voices are the most power weapon given to us. Our voices are given authority by assignment. As we focus on the assignment given to us, authority is given to empower our voices.

The power we receive with the Holy Spirit, is a power to see signs, wonders, and miracles, but it is also power to transform us. When we stir the Holy Spirit in us, we are changed. The power gives us the strength that to walk out every day and be who the world around us needs. We already have all that we need, but we must be stirred up regularly.

Acts 1:8 is our scripture verse for this series "A People Empowered". It says we will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon us. The Holy Spirit is a long awaited gift and more than ever the church needs to show that power to the world! One of the first steps to acting in power is how do you receive it? How do you receive a gift?

We are faced on daily bases by community killers - Busyness, Isolation, Fear & Shame, Inward Focus. There is power in community that can transform us and our world, John looks how we overcome community killers and the fruit we will see in community.

Suffering is an integral part to our transformation into Christ Likeness (Rom 8:17, Roman 8:28-29 1 Peter 6:7) which is a far cry from the western narrative of the only pursuit of happiness. Equally we were never called to suffer alone. How do we let suffering do its work to see us thrive?

In these chaotic moments of life where the world seems to fall apart, our identity as Christians comes alive. We are the living hope for this world! Will you act in it or move with the world?

Have you ever felt a wrestling inside yourself of who am I? Or am I who I am meant to be? Most of us feel this battle of inside of us, a battle of false self & true self. Looking at the story of Peter we see Jesus desires in community for us to discover our authentic selves. Enjoy this message as Pastor Jonny pulls out Jesus heart for an authentic community.

Ground zero to Following Jesus In Community is, what is Jesus' view of community? What does he think its suppose to be? Jesus was not only offensive in His teaching but also by who he called community, family...

What was so radical about it and why should it matter to us?

Pastor Craig finished up our series looking at Matt 5:38-48 - Retribution and loving your neighbor in the gap.

As we continue our teaching from the sermon on the mount we look at the passage of Matt 5:33-37 on Oaths. How does this teaching guide us in the gap? What does this mean for us as followers of Jesus?

As we continue our "IN THE GAP" series we read through Matthew 5:27-32 and Jesus' response to Objects and Oppressions.

Religion says keep your outward actions right but as follower of Jesus calls to a heart change beneath the surface. We look at Anger in Matthew 5:21-26 and how Jesus calls us to live.

We have started a new series "In The Gap". A life as a Christian is to stand in the gap to see a shift of Gods Kingdom in our worlds. How to do we stand in the gap and thrive? What posture do we take? This past Sunday we looked a Joy in the gap

We are warned about gaps in life, don't fall down the gap, you will get hurt in the gap. As we experience an ever growing gap in our nation God speaks of a different story, He is looking for followers to stand in the gap. What does it mean to stand in the gap? How do we stand in the gap?

Reading from the passage John 14:1-6 Pastor Craig leans into the true meaning of Gods place for you.

As we continue our series of "Your Place" we looked at a place we live through out our whole lives, called "The Waiting Place". Looking through the lens of Genesis 8 with the story of Noah we looked at the importance of waiting and what it produces.

"Place" is important to our belonging but what if we are rooted in the wrong place? We are called to an intimate space with the Father and so building value in this place is primary to our walk.

We have kicked off a new series called "Your Place". We feel in this season God is preparing hearts to get in place. Kara shared a great word on how we disqualify ourselves from our place. You are vital to your place.

On Father's day we are reminded of the need for Father in this cultural moment. Today we leaned into the desire of our Heavenly Father, to love your neighbor as yourself.

In this difficult season God is doing a deep work in us, thou uncomfortable there is a purpose in mind. Pastor Craig spoke this purpose, to the Refiner's fire.

This past Sunday we celebrated Pentecost Sunday from our homes online. Pentecost (50th day) or feast of weeks was a day where the children of Israel would offer up their first fruits. The birthing of the church on Pentecost where the Holy Spirit was poured out, was Gods first fruit of the new covenant. What was the result of this first fruit? Drawing close to God, being a child of God means we invite our heavenly Father's discipline. We looked at Hebrews 12:5-11 as we understood what it meant for a Father's discipline in our life and what it produces.

Jon Mayak preached an awesome message on understanding our God in the storm.

More than ever we need reminded of the character traits of the motherhood of God who embodies words of love to us.

To have hope in the unknown is an incredibly transformative tool but we have lived in a culture of planning, certainty and have had no need for it.

God is calling us again to have hope in Him. To look at selves and see where are Hope is. To have Hope in grief and see new life come forth.

We continued our series of Grave to Gardens with the topic thirst. Thirst can feel like a grave moment, feeling lack and need with no fulfillment. But the thirst can lead us to living water, into garden life. We must not get confused with resource thou when we need the source.

The question we have in this moment of the Coronavirus is - do we and will we have enough? And while most aren’t sure what is ‘enough,’ the fear is that we don’t have it and so our minds wandering towards how to get it. We hoard in a moment creating excess of things in our lives. The cross tells a counter cultural message... Deny and GIVE.

Often we feel the noises of the world drown out the voice of God but actually our hearts disconnected are the root causes. As we practice a rhythm of Silence and solitude we see transformation of our emotions, idols and gain direction from God.

Opportunities are always in front of us and we can choose to see a wall or a door. In our world we love to see! We celebrate when we see a truth we will even fake it to just fit in. We create frame works that help us see but often these same frame works cause us to be blind. Jesus in John 9 teaches us what it means to see and the trust it forms.

This past Sunday we finished up our series "Leave for the 99" hearing from different experiences and perspectives on the power of the invitation. We looked at how it changed lives and how we can create space for the invitation.

As Christians we are called on mission to this world, to leave for the 99 lost sheep. We continued in John 4 - Woman of Samaria - Seeing Jesus prophesy into her situation which propelled her into new life and purpose. This world is longing for words of life and we have been given that gift through the Holy Spirit. What would our worlds look if we spoke words of life into it?

Catch up on this past Sunday's message from Pastor Jonny in part 2 of our series "Leave for the 99". This week we looked at the power of your story! As we leave home to lead home we need to be better story tellers, not story sellers. Telling a new story to this broken world.

Our direction this year is look into our value of being Outward Focused as a church. We started a new series, "Leaving for the 99" in part 1 - talking about leaving home to lead people home. Jesus in John 4 left his home land for the one Samariatan woman who was an outcast. What does it look like to leave home to lead home, how do we do it?

We took a Sunday to talk Vision for 2020. The importance of a name we declare over ourselves and our situations can not overstated. As part of Vision 2020 we shared our potential new church name and focus for the year.

This past Sunday we closed out "Our First Love series with a message “Our Confession” Why is it so important in our lives and keep our first love alive?

This past Sunday Pastor Craig spoke on "Pure Devotion" as we continued "Our First Love Series" sharing from 1 Cor 11:1-15. Our pure devotion must be singular focused.

Opposite of Faith is not disbelief its certainty. When all we search for is clarity in relationships with God and one another things get weird. Trust causes first love to explode in our lives, but more often we want to control our futures which suffocates our first love. What is God calling us to trust Him for? What does trust cause in my life?

Cultivating a first love means we must contend against a fear. Fear of being hurt from past experiences, fear of not being good enough, fear of punishment. We love to quote 1 John 4:18 - perfect/completed love casts out fear! But this verse is the final time John uses the phrase "Perfect Love" in which he mentions it 4 times. John is wanting to take us on a journey of what perfect/completed love looks like and it is more than just a declaration of truth, it is a demonstration through our lives.

Rev 2 the church of Ephesus had abandoned their first love. In response God would remove His light, His presence if they did not change. The refining light of God is important part to our love with Him. God is challenging us to wake up and receive his illuminating love over our lives. To Remember our brokenness and need of Him, to Repent, turn back to Him and Return back to our action of first love.

Peace has a Pace. You cannot love well or be at peace when you are physically in a hurry. Are we putting spiritual practices in place to slow our physical body to be loved by God and love others well?

No one likes conflict but we are called to be Peace Makers in the ministry of reconciliation. In this episode we look at what heart attitudes we need to take when in conflict with another.

We try to create fake peace in our worlds through control, filling of things or espace. The Prince of Peace came to bring "Peace with God" so we could experience "Peace of God" in our walks. What does that look like? Enjoy this message from Pastor Jonny

This past Sunday Pastor Craig started our "Prince of Peace" Christmas series. Isaiah's prophecy of the Prince of Peace is one of the most powerful promises in all of Scripture. This message tracks further back to Genesis where we discover the name "Shiloh" and its significance in the Messianic prophecies.

This past Sunday we kicked off our new series "Our Values".

As the transition of leadership has taken place, Pastor Jonny sets out the vision and values of the church looking at Part 1 - Spirit Led.

This is the first and most important value to us:

This past Sunday we continued with our transition as we honored the elders and welcomed the new leadership team. We also spoke and prayed into the prophecies of the house for the us to dare to dream again!

This past Saturday we took time to honor and thank Pastors Craig & Wendy for the years of service, as we prepared for the transition of leadership.

The “Chief Shepherd” has provided for the local church through the ministry of pastors. Part one of this two-part series examines the responsibility of the sheep toward the shepherd. While church history is full of tragic tales of the shepherd/sheep relationship, simple obedience to Scripture can bring peace and stability to the local church.

This past Sunday Pastor Craig spoke from Philippians 3. “Beware of Dogs” is a phrase that is common to us but has its origin in the Bible. Paul warns the Philippian church that there is a danger lurking among their members. The danger involved the purity of the gospel message that was being defiled by false teachers. This message explores the danger in Philippi and reveals the same danger that threatens the church in every age.

We continued our teaching series on Paul’s letter to the Philippians this past Sunday. One the most important themes in Paul's letters to the church is unity. In Chapter 2 we see the kind of life we are called to as followers of Jesus, that holds together unity and interest of others.

Pastor Jonny begins our series on Paul’s letter to the Philippians by taking us through chapter 1. The lens we see life through determines everything in life. Paul makes this big statement, "to live is Christ to die is gain" which sets us through a powerful way of living.

It was so great being together this past Sunday!!! We took time to stop hit the pause button and review the 7 principles of Emotionally Healthy Spirituality that has been a really life changing series. Hear from different peoples experiences of the messages and how they were impacted. Enjoy!

This pain is as old as the Garden. One tree was forbidden, a limit to us. A lie from the snake to say your missing out and ever since we have this issue of wanting to be God. All places, All powerful and All knowing. Thyere is peace is knowing your design and limits.

This past Sunday Pastor Jonny continued our series of Emotionally Healthy Spirituality with a look at "Living In Brokenness & Vulnerability. We either flee, fight or hide our brokenness. But God is calling us to open up and live lives of vulnerability. This is the place where change comes as we get honest with our seleves. Jesus is looking for Judah's.

This past Sunday Pastor Craig continued our series of Emotionally Healthy Spirituality with part 2 - Break The Power Of The Past - Putting the past in proper perspective is a necessary part of our spiritual growth. Many Christians are stifled because they refuse to deal with their past. So how do we deal with this thing that we carry?

This past Sunday Pastor Jonny kicked off a new series "Emotionally Healthy Spirituality" - Part 1 - Looking Beneath The Surface". To be a Spiritually whole person we must learn to explore the depths of our emotions and allow the work of our heavenly Father through it.

This past Sunday Pastor Craig spoke a messgae on "American Idols". The worship of idols is not limited to Third World Countries that are in bondage to pagan religions. Idolatry is alive and well in America, including in the church. This message reveals the danger of idolatry and provides tools to evaluate our own lives to identify any idols that we may be serving.

This past Sunday Pastor Jonny spoke on the importance of words of a Father. Our Heavenly Father's words ignite and expand in us while also refining and defining us. This great reminder of balance is important for us as physical and spiritual Father's. Words are important!

This past Sunday Pastor Craig gave an amazing message on the good news of the Kingdom. We often can live in the space of personal good news of the gospel, but it is good news for whole world, to transform people, place and culture! Enjoy!

This past Sunday Pastor Craig continued through DNA statement as a church. An important element of our DNA statement has to do with experiencing truth and love. This message deals with the need to balance truth and love in order to effectively represent Jesus to a broken world.

This past Sunday Jon Mayak shared on Citizens & Strangers. As the story of God's kingdom started long ago and continues, we find ourselves living as both citizens and strangers. We live in the "already but not yet", all while knowing something is on the horizon - God's perfect kingdom. A kingdom that is not of this world.

This Sunday Pastor Jonny looked at what it is for Covenant Life to be an Experiential Church. We are a reformed, charismatic body of people and being Spirit Led is a high value for us. So who is the Holy Spirit and what ignites Him in our lives?

When we face pressure from our culture to compromise, do what's right before God and trust him with the results! When everyone bows. Stand!
