A weekly deep dive into the strange world of professional boxing. Hosted by @BoxrecGrey and @TimBoxeo on Twitter.
This week I explore the top ten most vulnerable world champions in 2024 and discuss the ESPN+ Verona show and Jake Paul/Amanda Serrano Puerto Rico show on DAZN!
The least important boxing podcast is back to talk boxing in 2024!
It's a solo rambling session as I chat about Boxingscene getting purcashed by a substance rehab center tycoon, break down BoxingNews's 50 Most Powerful People list, and preview all the goodies for the weekend. Hell yeah, I'm back for the 500th time.
The UnProf Boxing Pod is back at it again. I talk about my New Hampshire boxing adventure, BLK Prime drama, as well as preview the Top Rank show this weekend as well as talk about women's boxing and the DAZN Saturday card with special guest, Lo Hanshaw (@lohanshaw). Yes, I finally suckered a woman into guesting on this pod.

It's been six months, sorry. But we're back and ready to talk boxing.
This week, we talk about 1/7 PBC show and go off on Iole & Copp.

Another long layoff, but I am back here to discuss the topic that has been brewing in the pit of Boxing Twitter - did DAZN ring announcer lie/embellish his recent motorcycle accident. I do a reading of a pair of articles by Thomas Hauser and Chris Mannix along with discussing some research from boxing Twitter members that seems to contradict some claims. Strange stuff, but this is boxing, isn't it?
The Col Bob podcast I did previously and is referenced in the show is available to listen here: https://unprofessionalboxingpod.libsyn.com/episode-84-col-bob-mowing-down-the-haters-in-a-200000-corvette
Please give me a follow on Twitter (@BoxrecGrey) and feel free to DM me any information on this situation.
I am currently on the road doing commentary for Friday's Boxing Boston Promotions event! I did an hour-longish chat with my friend and promoter Pete Czymbor. We cover a bunch of topics, including putting on shows during the pandemic, Fred Durst, Olympic gymnastics, and our love of the Cape Cod Melody Tent!

Hi there. It's been a bit of time since I last recorded. Let's talk about Canelo, New Hampshire boxing, Ryan Garcia, Fig-Nery, and Triller in 30 minutes or less. Good to be back.
This week, I give my thoughts on Canelo's quest to become a true Florida Man and sit down with Serhii Bohachuk, who will be fighting Brandon Adams this Thursday on Ring City!
We're back at it again to preview two fight cards this weekend. We preview Brian Carlos Castano vs. Patrick Teixeira, Joe Smith vs. Maxim Vlasov, and JoJo Diaz vs. Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov.
There's plenty of bareknuckle and Jose Canseco talk as well, don't you worry.

This week we dive into the season finale of the podcast with returning guest Corey Erdman (@corey_erdman) and reflect on GGG, Canelo, preview Garcia-Campbell, and talk about our weird finds on Ebay and why we love bareknuckle fighting.
I also kick off the show discussing a certain elephant in the room that has been hanging out on Boxing Twitter for the last few days.

Happy 2021.
I'm back for the 30th time, boozed up, and ranting about COVID denial, GGG, Canelo, Zurdo, WBC title fights in the Congo, and Boots Enis. Last week of big boxing in 2020, so let's give this a rip.

We are BACK at it again, with a new computer and lease on life. We got Carlos Toro (@CarlosToroMedia) popping in to discuss why last week was the dumbest week in 2020 boxing. We talk about Canelo's quest for a December fight, the WBC trying to make a new weight class, Crawford/Brook and much more!
By the way - I'm doing a digital giveaway for the movie CHICKFIGHT. Go to my pinned tweet now (@BoxrecGrey) to enter for a chance to win a copy of the newly released. #ChickFightMovie
Info about the film: "Streaming now on Redbox On Demand: Malin Akerman, Bella Thorne and Alec Baldwin star in the hilarious, hard-hitting comedy CHICK FIGHT. Hello all, apologies for going dark for several weeks.
My computer died and probably many of my files as well. Boo. But this is a big weekend of boxing so I put together a raw ass episode of myself talking for 45 minutes, nonstop, about this weekend's DAZN, PBC, and ESPN+ cards. I miss audio editing already.
Thank you for your patience. Hopefully properly edited episodes return soon.
Back at it again previewing the biggest boxing card in some time since COVID. Charlos, Josh Taylor, WBSS cruiserweight final ... everything you need to know in under 30 minutes!
I'm back, I've been slacking and I'm here to spend the next thirty minutes telling you about Canelo suing DAZN and how boxing is definitely totally back in the Fall.
Staple guest of the (un)Professional Boxing Podcast, Marquis Johns (@weaksauceradio) joins to talk about the upcoming PBC and Top Rank cards on Saturday as well as his thoughts on the future of DAZN, Oscar De La Hoya's comeback, and Jeff Horn vs. Tim Tszyu. Plus, my cat meows a lot and demands dinner.

After a hiatus that involved a move to New Jersey, we are back at it again. A classic solo episode where I sweat, ramble, and discuss and grade each PBC Showtime/Fox card for the Fall. 45 minutes of chaos.
It's a quick one this week, and my heart is ready to talk about boxing running in the COVID era, Top Rank cards falling apart, and Jeff Horn vs. Tim Tszyu. Not my best work, but certainly my drunkest.
This week, we have a first-time guest, as Carlos Toro (@CarlosToro360) of Fightful stops by to review the recent fights Top Rank has promoted on ESPN, as well as preview the returns of Golden Boy and Matchroom USA to the boxing world during the times of COVID, as well as speculate on PBC's next steps. This is your guide to everything boxing in July.
Apologies everyone for the recent hiatus, we are back with PART TWO of the Mark Gastineau boxing career deep dive. In this episode, we explore the brains behind the operation, promoter Rick Parker, and Gastineau's infamous boxing debut against pro wrestler Derrick "Starfire" Dukes. Add in Mark's messy divorce and multiple arrests, and you get a trainwreck of a pro debut.
LISTEN TO PART ONE: https://unprofessionalboxingpod.libsyn.com/episode-66-the-mark-gastineau-boxing-career-deep-dive-part-1-a-series-of-life-poor-choices
I need to get my mind off the bad shit going on, so I drank a bunch of hard seltzer and reviewed the upcoming Top Rank boxing schedule in June! We're drunk! We're back!
This week, Marquis Johns (@weaksauceradio) stops by to talk about the boxing that is rumored to be returning to the United States in June. We also talk about the Boxing Twitter drama from last week including MTK and Ammo Williams sparring footage being uploaded.
Part 2 of the Mark Gastineau deep dive coming out next week!
Multiple affairs. Unpaid child support. Fixed fights. Cocaine. Murder.
This will be one of the the wildest boxing stories you'll ever hear.
This is the story of Mark Gastineau, a former NFL superstar who in a financial predicament, turns to professional boxing in a get-rich-quick scheme to work his way to a 12-0 professional record for a million dollar fight against George Foreman. However, in boxing, like life, little actually goes to plan.
In Part 1, we explore Mark Gastineau's background in the NFL and his relationships, and explore the choices he made that forced him to get into a boxing ring and try to be a professional.

Still no boxing back, so we're still a wrestling podcast! To celebrate the release of The Dark Side of the Ring's upcoming episode about UWF and Herb Abrams, Grey and Chris cover their last show, an infamous 1994 pay per view that took place in front of 600 people at the MGM Grand.
It's a total shitshow and we can't wait for you to hear about it.
I guess COVID is turning this into a wrestling podcast now? Chris from the @BadWresPodcast stops by to chat about the WWE releases that took place earleir this week, who is likely to be back on TV soon and who will end up on Tommy Dreamer-promoted shows. Hear me, fear me.
Still no boxing, but plenty of social distancing. Peter Cyzmbor stops by to talk about his boxing event still scheduled to take place on June 5th, the boxing scene dealing with COVID, our favorite Wrestlemania's when we were kids, Tiger King, and our favorite New England towns!
It's a wrestling-centric this week, as boxing continues to be on hold! Chris from the Bad Wrestling Podcast stops in to talk about the insanity that was UWF wrestling in 1990. We review the first two episodes of this doomed venture, funded by a cocaine-addicted Herb Abrams. If you're a fan of Dr. Death Steve Willaims, Paul Orndorff, Hair Club for Men, or just the 1990s in general, this should be a good one.
In the first of what I'd imagine will be many strange (un)Professional Boxing Podcasts, I sit down with Corey Erdman (@corey_erdman) and talk about the effect coronavirus is having on the boxing community. We then lighten up the mood talking about heavyweights that may/may not have fulfilled their full potential, including: Ike Ibeabuchi, Joe Mesi, Kirk Johnson, and Audley Harrison.
A quick episode this week, but @RapaczBoxing stops by to chat about this Friday's Shobox card and the potential issues coronavirus could cause for boxing.
As usual, we recap and preview everything in boxing in under 40 minutes. We discuss the return of Roman Gonzalez, Mikey Garcia's hopes and dreams at welterweight, and the PBC Heavyweight Explosion this weekend.
This week, we talk about why Tyson Fury was able to defeat Deontay Wilder - what I do I think about the heavy costume excuse? Will Mikey look good at welterweight? Does Roman Gonzalez have another title run in him? TUNE IN TO FIND OUT THANK YOU.
This week I chat Wilder-Fury II with Marquis Johns (@weaksauceradio) and discuss which culture Fury will appropriate this time and the future of Ryan Garcia. Plus, we celebrate Wardlow Wednesday!
This week I try to move on from my King Tug depression and try to fathom the Kingry Valentine's Day card. Plus, the mailbag returns and I answer your tweets!
Apologies for the late episode this week, your host had to deal with an illness due to too much epic win boxing to process. We talk Jake Paul, The Gibber, boxing on Christian network television, and Grey gives his betting picks for this weekend's PBC and DAZN cards. And Jeff Horn news, too.
This week your host has given himself to God to celebrate the premiere of Boxing on the Impact Network (check your local listings) to get hyped over the comebacks of Austin Trout and Alonzo Butler. There's DAZN Superbowl card and PBC on FS1 talk as well, but BOXING ON THE IMPACT NETWORK has taken over my soul.
This week I sit down with Peter Czymbor (@BostonProBoxing) to talk about his upcoming January 31st card in Windham, NH and his 10 New England boxers to watch in 2020. In addition, I preview/review all the fight action.
Get tickets to the upcoming Boston Boxing show here: http://www.bostonboxingpromotions.com/tickets/
We kick off SEASON 2 of the (un)Professional Boxing Podcast with a recap of everything happening in the boxing world in under 40 minutes. Jamie Mongoya, Claressa Shields, JRock Williams, and plenty more!
The (un)Professional Boxing Podcast returns January 15th!
LISTEN TO THIS TRAILER AND GET HYPED
We wrap up Season 1 of the (un)Professional Boxing Podcast with a Julio Cesar Chavez Jr recap and rant. Marquis Johns (@weaksauceradio) then stops by to wrap up 2019 in boxing and preview the PBC card this weekend.
Thank you for the support this year - I did 52 podcast episodes (well 51, counting one that didn't make it).
SEASON TWO RETURNS ON JANUARY 15TH.
It's the 50th episode of the (un)Professional Boxing podcast, and what better way to celebrate to catch up with Corey Erdman (@corey_erdman) and talk about all the weird boxing merchandise we found on Ebay. Also, some Jeff Horn victory talk. Oh hell yeah.
This week I serve you up a half hour recap of the Saudi heavyweights, Charlo-Hoganmania, and the important Tito Ortiz-Alberto Del Rio MMA war. There's talk about Crawford/Mean Machine and Commey-Lopez as well.
Next week is ep #50 so we got a longer episode planned oh hell yeah
After being sick for a few days, we're back with a 30 minute, stream-of-consciousness preview of Saudi Arabia weirdness and Charlo-Hogan talk. Plus my Boxing Hall of Fame inductee thoughts.
This week I sit down with Peter Czymbor to talk about his upcoming event taking place this Wednesday at the Castleton Banquet & Conference Center in Windham, New Hampshire. Peter is always very honest about how he puts his shows together, so this conversation is great for those who want to tap into the mind of a successful boxing club show promoter. For tickets, go to http://www.bostonboxingpromotions.com/tickets/.
This week, the (Un)Professional Boxing Podcast sells out and hands out podcast-branded titles to boxers in all 17 weight classes. We gotta stay one step ahead of these potential PBC belts. Who will be awarded The Golden Marianne title?
You know what this is going to be about. A 40 minute insane monologue about Jake Paul-KSI. I lose my mind talking about Youtube vloggers in this one.
It's another one man show episode again! 45 minutes of me talking about DAZN's weird choices, KSI vs. Logan Paul, and why 130lbs is the biggest wasteland division in all of boxing.
This week we're back with a longer episode and a guest! After an intro in which I talk about my new fascinating with people chugging liquids on Youtube, Marquis Johns (@weaksauceradio) swings by to preview an absurdly deep fight weekend. We talk about the very unwoke WWE Saudi Arabia show weirdness, Canelo moving up to 175, PBC and Top Rank shows that also exist on Saturday and plenty more!
This week I pat myself on the back for my very good Beterbiev-Nail prediction and sort through the intense Oscar De La Hoya accusations before taking us on a relaxing preview of Saturday's big boxing action - DAZN, ESPN+, Showtime .... I got it covered baby.
Hello all - my apologies for a late episode this week. This is the closest I have come to not releasing an episode but the show must go on. The Patrick Day news has me pretty down, so I discuss fighter safety, my weird weekend watching DAZN in a B&B with 2G wireless, and the Nail-Beterbiev preview.
I'm at it alone this week, and I cover the highs and lows of the DAZN broadcast with GGG squeaking out a win. We devour all the boxing drama last week fed us as well, sucker punches, failed pee tests, all the good shit. And we talk Usyk too. Duh.
We celebrate episode 40 the only way this podcast can, by convincing a guest to come on last second because I am bad at planning. Through the cell phone sounds and coughs on my end, Corey Erdman provides the listeners with his Spence-Porter thoughts, the DAZN fall schedule analysis, GGG, bare knuckle boxing and good lord so much more!
This week I go it alone and recap the insanity that was Alfredo Angulo vs. Peter Quillin, the Shobox card and Ken Shamrock's weird bare knuckle card in North Dakota.
We also talk the Spence-Porter PPV and my desperate need for boner pill sponsorship money.
In this episode we're joined by @TTrambx from The Corner Guys Boxing Podcast to chat about Tyson Fury and his giant eye cuts, PBC using magic to make Alfredo Angulo rise from the grave, and what boxing fandom was like before Twitter and streaming became commonplace. And I explore Ryan Garcia-Avery Sparrow conspiracy theories. A big old banger of an episode!
Boxing is BACK BABY and Marquis Johns (@weaksauceradio) stops by once again to preview this weekend that is full of BIG NAMES .... and not great opponents. We chat about the futures of Tyson Fury, Kingry, Jamie Mongoya, Devin Haney, Amanda Serrano vs. Heather Hardy, and much more!
In what might be the biggest downer episode of the (un)Professional Boxing Podcast, your host tries to cope with the lackluster performances of Jeff Horn and the 6'7" Jr Middleweight and the boring weekend of boxing on the schedule.
Short, powerful, dramatic episode. This is boxing chatter at the highest level.
End Song: "Resignation of a Groomsmen's Speech" - Harrison Hartley
Corey Erdman (@corey_erdman) stops by with another visit to the (un)Professional Boxing Podcast to tell us tales of calling the Kovalev-Yarde fight for the ESPN+ international audience. We also chat Jeff Horn vs. The Part Time Male Stripper, the 6'8" Jr Middleweight, The Definitely 27 Year Old Cuban Heavyweight and I guess Lomachenko-Campbell as well. A wholesome conversation that features Corey cursing out The Undertaker! Tune in now.
I'm burned out from 900 miles of road travel over the weekend, but thankfully Beto Durán (@DuranSports) stops by to talk about the Golden Boy and Thompson Boxing cards taking place this week. Plenty of Vergil Ortiz and Ryan Garcia-Avery Sparrow chatter as well!
Finally, I wrap things up solo with previews of Kovlaev-Yarde, Shobox, and PBC on FS1.
A special, short bonus episode this week because I didn't really talk about the current boxing scene on the wrestling-centric podcast. I gush over Vergil Ortiz, hype up Tim Tszyu, have little hope for Saturday's ESPN+ card, and much more.
This week we're doing another special boxing/pro wrestling crossover with guest Chris (@Funkyassdg) from the @badwrespodcast! We discuss the many attempts that professional boxers have made to doing pro wrestling. Featuring Sugar Ray Leonard, Trevor Berbick, Leon Spinks, Floyd Mayweather, Ricky Hatton, Evander Holyfield, The Sandman and many more!
We'll be back with normal boxing talk later this week, promise.
@PeterCzymbor of @BostonBoxing comes back to do a live episode in the (un)Professional Boxing Podcast apartment to chat about his upcoming show taking place August 16th in Nashua, New Hampshire!
In addition, we chat about the New England boxing scene, cats, casino jingles, women's boxing needing 3 minute rounds, and so much more. It's a great conversation that truly captures what I want this podcast to be. And of course, plenty of fight preview/reviews as well.
Buy tickets to Peter's show here: http://www.bostonboxingpromotions.com/tickets/
Somehow we've made it 30 episodes in and guest Rian Scalia (@rian5ca) summed it up well in his own tweet about his appearance: "Going on the Unprofessional Boxing Podcast show soon to talk all the latest wacky boxing shit." Ladies on ski lifts, combat sports record keeping, Big Polish Baby talk and so much more.
We're back at it again with TWO TIME guest Jason Toufexis (@JasonToufexis) who stops by to talk about his career as a boxing poster designer. He does into great detail about what he believes makes a great poster, his inspirations, and some the do's and don'ts when it comes to making a promotional boxing poster.
We also recap Whyte-Rivas, Teofimo Lopez, and Pac-Thurman and preview the Tank Davis and Hooker-Ramirez unification bout this weekend.
This week I try to make sense of the Amir Khan-Billy Dib card that took place Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Marquis Johns (@weaksauceradio) then stops by as the guest this week to try to dissect the insane amount of boxing happening in July and gives his opinion on how the PBC/DAZN/ESPN production and presentation has been looking in 2019. We preview all the action this weekend, as well as Marquis giving us a glimpse into Keith Thurman's camp.
Look, I messed up the audio a bit on this one because I'm a buffoon so apologies, but you're getting a second episode this week because I love y'all so much.
Rob Brant co-promoters Greg Cohen and Cory Rapacz call in all the way from Japan to talk about Rob's upcoming fight with Ryota Murata and I preview the other international boxing action coming up this weekend.
The first of TWO podcast episodes this week, as there's an absurd amount of boxing happening. This episode covers all the action in the American boxing scene - in addition to ESPN/DAZN/PBC card previews, Chris Jay, Director of Communications of the Massachusetts-based Murphy's Boxing stops by to talk about their big card on UFC Fight Pass this Friday. Chris talks about his journey to working in the boxing industry, the history of Murphy's, and why this card on Friday is especially important to the promotion. A great, detailed interview that I think you'll enjoy!
Corey Erdman (@corey_erdman) stops by on this week's podcast to join me in reflecting on being in attendance for the DAZN Providence showcase. We chat about the future of Demetrius Andrade and Jermall Charlo, as well as discuss global warming, Marianne Williamson, the legendary Brandon Cook-Steven Butler brawl, the strange Amir Khan Saudi Arabia card, and so much more!
This week we sit down for an hour chat with Boxrec editor and journalist Juan Carlos Ortecho (@jcortecho) and we go deep into the issues that come up with record keeping, the insane Peruvian boxing scene, why some South American boxers who fight in the USA/UK are so terrible, and even chat about Tye Fields! We also preview the DAZN, ESPN, and Showtime cards this weekend. And don't worry, there's even a little bareknuckle boxing chatter.
Please support the show by following @BoxrecGrey on Twitter and leaving a nice review if you'd like.
I won't beat around the bush, I was jetlagged as hell and my brain was fried as I recorded this 45 minute sermon. I try to comprehend what was Tyson Fury vs. Tom Schwarz and preview the 700 small shows happening on Friday, yet only BAREKNUCKLE BOXING happening on Saturday. I feel like Artem Lobov's 50 facial cuts.
Part 2 of the Mickey Rourke professional boxing career deep dive. In this episode, we cover the rest of Mickey's fights and the slow decent into absurdity. There's lots of overseas fights and lots of questionable opponents. Learn which movie role he turned down to KO a 0-3 opponent and which former world champion allegedly played a key role in Mickey never boxing again, and finally we cover the insane exhibition match Mickey had in Russia in 2014.
I'm Europe for a few weeks in June and recording episodes well in advance, so we're taking a break from the typical show format of boxing previews/news/reviews and doing a deep dive instead. This week, I focus on the professional boxing career of professional actor Mickey Rourke. In Part 1, we focus on 1964-1992: Mickey's amateur boxing career, training with Freddie Roach and his first two professional boxing matches.
We celebrate 20 episodes with our first in-studio guest! @PeterCzymbor from @BostonProBoxing stops by to talk about his show on 5/31 in Windham, New Hampshire. We preview his card and get into the challenges and rewards of putting on a consistent club boxing series. If you're curious about the business side of boxing, this episode is a worthy listen. I also recap the three shows that took place on Saturday and preview the AJ-Andy Ruiz Jr card.
Just me again this week, I express regret for my terrible Wilder-Big Dom prediction while dealing with a neighbor trying to chainsaw a tree. Also some WBSS talk where I profess my love of Inoue and Josh Taylor. We got bare knuckle talk and plenty of fight previews as well.
The Unprofessional Boxing Podcast is solo this week with new corporate sponsorship! This week, we talk Williams-Hurd, Jack Swagger, Jeff Horn's future, WBSS, Deontay Wilder and so much more!
This week we're joined by Beto Durán (@DuranSports) who gives us his first-hand review of the Canelo-Jacobs card and his thoughts on Canelo's future, Vergil Ortiz Jr, the national anthem, Friday's Shobox card, and more! Plus previews of ESPN and PBC while my cat groans for more food in the background.
A longer episode this week, but I promise it's worth it! This week we're doing by Canadian boxing staple and boxing poster design master Jason Toufexis (@JasonToufexis). We recap the boxing weekend by venting our frustration over the Golden Boy stream and the Easter-Barthelemy fight, yet sending our respects to DAZN.
In addition, we preview the many Canadians in action this weekend (Artur Beterbiev, Steven Butler, and Erik Bazinyan) and Canelo-Jacobs, of course.
We also have an excellent Jeff Horn update and Jason tells us a tale of a riot that took place in the ring two years ago that featured a cooler full of drinks getting thrown.
This week I lose my mind trying to fathom Big Baby Miller's life choice. We grind up, tightly pack in a bowl, and smoke out the entire 4/20 boxing weekend with a preview of the huge DAZN card, World Boxing Super Series, and PBC on Showtime action. Plus, you guessed it, a Jeff Horn update!
It's just me this week on the podcast, and let's not beat around the bush - I've been drinking and I'm extremely fired up over a terrible weekend of boxing. Lomachenko, Showtime, PBC on FOX Sports 1, DAZN ... nothing is spared during this rant. After a few calm down beers, I preview a tightly rolled joint's worth of 4/20 weekend boxing (Crawford-Khan PPV, Danny Garcia's return, and even the White Rhino David Allen).
I'm joined this week by boxing expert and fellow podcaster @rian5ca. We chat about Gilberto Ramirez-Tommy Karpency, Ricardo Mayorga, Samuel Peter, and a guy in Peru who took a photo with the ring girls in between rounds of his fight. We got Jeff Horn talk and plus we talk Lomachenko too I guess.
My audio was messed up and Episode 12 is sadly gone forever. However, in the interest of getting content out for the masses, I present The first Unprofessional Boxing Podcast mini episode aka I ramble about the 2000 Olympics for a half hour. The curse is real folks, and I break down all the fighters from that never panned out.
A quick one this week without a guest, forgive me. I break down the PBC card in Maryland on Sunday, Kubrat Pulev's bloody performance on Saturday. In addition, I reminisce about how good Kassim Ouma once was and discuss what my cat's ring name would be if it were a boxer.
This week we're joined by Justyn Likes (@JustynLikes) from Combat Press. He was on press row this past weekend for all 17 fights on the Garcia-Spence PPV card and is here to tell the tale. If you've ever been curious about how good the PBC press row catering and toilets are, this is the episode for you. We preview the weekend's PBC and ESPN cards as well featuring the Peterson brothers and Kubrat Pulev, too.
Episode 9! No guest, but I don't feel like I'm dying and have plenty to preview as we have the Spence-Garcia PPV, a DAZN show in Philly, and even a ESPN+ show on Sunday. Listen to to see which celebrity is officially CANCELLED on the Unprofessional Boxing Podcast, an exclusive Jeff Horn scoop, and Paulie Malignaggi is doing bare knuckle boxing! No cats peeing this week, but my radiator sounds like shit and the overhead airplanes are non-stop!
I'm a bit under the weather this week so apologies in advance. Brian Dillon (@Bridilboxing) is our guest this week and he talks about the excellent club show in Hanover, Maryland this Friday he put together as the matchmaker.
We also recap Showtime, preview Bivol-Smith and Porter-Ugas, I talk about willing an amazing moment from UFC 235 into existence, and my opening monologue is interrupted by dogs and cats.
Likely the weirdest opening monologue to date. 30 minutes of boxing talk. 1 hour of Butterbean talk. Our longest, most ambitious episode to date features Chris (@funkyassdg) from the Bad Wrestling Podcast talking about Butterbean's two legendary matches in the WWF. Oh, and there's Brandon Rios-Humberto Soto, Jeff Horn, 43 year old heavyweight Luis Ortiz talk as well.
If you just want to skip the boxing and go straight to Butterbean - head to the 30 minute mark. Enjoy.
We're back with another episode. Not the most exciting week of boxing to recap and preview, but I marvel at PBC's 6'7" Jr Middleweight and complain about fights being kept off TV, Jeff Horn updates, reaction to the Tyson Fury news, and I tell you how excited I am about Brandon Rios vs. Humberto Soto.
This week we're joined by Cory Rapacz (@RapaczBoxing) to talk about Rob Brant, why they picked ESPN+ over DAZN, and preview this weekend's ESPN card. Recaps of Ruiz-Davis, DAZN and previews of PBC on FOX as well. I also talk about Jeff Horn's latest article and hand out the first Questionable South American Opponent of the Week award.
This week I deal with some low flying planes that screw with the audio as I attempt to recap the Kovalev-Alvarez card. Plus: previews of Gervonta Davis vs. Hugo Ruiz, Golden Boy's DAZN show, and Jose Ramirez vs. Jose Zepeda. Also, I get close to snapping talking about Jeff Horn and Anthony Yarde.
We're back at it again recapping the PBC on FOX and DAZN shows that took place on Saturday. Previews of Alvarez-Kovalev II, DAZN, and Shobox as well. More importantly, we talk about Jeff Horn, going to Tijuana to get easy wins, and Jack Swagger in the Bellator cage.
The Unprofessional Boxing Podcast is back at it again with episode 2. Recaps of the Pacquiao-Broner, DAZN, and ESPN+ cards with previews of Keith Thurman vs. Josesito Lopez and Jaime Munguia on DAZN. Plus, we talk Jeff Horn and I answer questions about Butterbean and Hungarian journeymen. My cat did not take a dump this time.
The Unprofessional Boxing Podcast is born with its pilot episode. Sorry for the weird mic stuff, we'll get it right next week. Recap of PBC on FS1 and Shobox with previews of the Pacquiao-Broner PPV, DAZN, and ESPN+ weekend shows. Plus, some talk about Prince Patel and my cat takes a dump during the recording.
