The Legacy Diaries started as an idea to add a new interview segment to the blog she shares with her husband. Buuuuuut aint nobody got time to be transposing hour plus long interviews! Soooo...due to her own love of podcasts + the belief that sometimes the story is better by literally being told she started her own. Through her interviews with mostly moms of color who are showing up and showing out in business while also showing up for themselves and their families, she hopes to inspire a new generation of women that they too can have it all by creating a life they love on their terms.

That's how many minutes have passed this year up until 8:30 pm tonight. Those minutes may have looked far different than what we originally planned. But we still have 180,720 minutes left in the year. What will you do next?
With the pandemic and the fight for equality and justice for black lives and people of color and the announcement of Kamala Harris as VP running mate of Joe Biden, you know these internet streets about to get to whole new level of dirty. Your emotional and mental well being can't take another hit.

Ya'll...consistency, consistency, consistency. You hear all the time but haven't quite figured out how to do it...consistently. Le sigh...I had to...
But seriously I take a closer at look something that has been elusive to me for years plus how I plan to tackle it.

Number 1: I'm sorry for all the noise in the background. I didn't realize I was moving around so much.
Number 2: Death is a sensitive and often avoided conversation for many. But like T'Challah "We don't do that here." We're talking about it because too many of us don't have plans for what to do about it when it happens and we leave our families SOL.
Number: Please like, subscribe and share. I love what I do and hope you do too.

The title speaks for itself but I'm talking more to myself than anything else. But if it speaks to you, we're doing the work together!

Let the fangirling commence! I've wanted to interview Dami well before there was even a thought of a podcast. She is such a genuine and humble person who serves others through the work as a luxury designer of wedding and other special event invitation suites, gifts and crystal clutches. No matter where your vision lies, she executes it with the highest quality as if she was designing for the Lord himself! She does all of this while mothering twin boys and being the wife of a fellow creative who is luxury menswear designer. During our conversation, she definitely dropped some jewels that can be used in both life and business.

This week I have my first guest and I'm uber excited! Amber Snow, a top tier Beachbody coach details her start in the business and how she's managed to grow far beyond what most people think of multi-level marketing. She is truly passionate about changing lives and leaving the world the better. Often she uses herself as an example of reclaiming your health, body and mind while not following what seems to be the norm of fad diets, quick weight loss schemes or powering through even if you're not okay. She also has a life coaching business that started because of her relationship with her grandmother. Did I mention that she does all of this while being a wife and mother to a sweet 18-month babe? Before you start to compare your journey to hers, understand that Amber doesn't do all the things without her tribe AND occasionally making it work whenever necessary. She is just the first of many examples of creating the blueprint for the life you love.
New year, new goals and new things to achieve. But...not without a plan and some inspiration.
Thanksgiving is this week and we all know the usual family pics with captions giving thanks are about to hit your social media feed. While many will say that they are grateful, do they truly mean it?
I take a look at my own life to see if my words have rang true or if I've been giving lip service.

Hey y'all! This week I'm joined by a mom that's the type of mom friend everyone should have. Between the blue hair, tattoo sleeve and a style reminiscent of Denise Huxtable, I just knew we had to be friends.
But more than that, she is an award winning blogger, speaker, amazing seamstress, social media expert and homeschooling mama of three while building her forever with the love of her life.
While she may be living the dream, at times she still suffers from "Imposter Syndrome" even though her hard work has gotten her to where she is today. Listen as she shares what made it click for her that she is all that and more plus, her right to birth her way, the legacy for her wee ones, finding her lane and then some.

Hey ya'll! This week I'm joined by a long time friend who I lovingly refer to as "King K" because she is making her mark in the corporate world. Over her 10 year career she has climbed the ranks to obtain the position of regional account director for a company that I think most of us are very familiar. Being a firm believer in woman empowerment, she does her best to leave no woman behind. While her job is demanding and allows room for play (she was in FRANCE this summer ya'll for work and a little pleasure) self care is definitely not a forgotten aspect of her lifestyle.
As always, don't forget to like, share and leave a review. All the love is appreciated as well as helping to spread the message around.

This week I'm joined by Kamilah Campbell of The Pink Locket. She is an amazing artisan whose handcrafted works of metal are designed to "make a woman feel great" about herself. Her pieces of jewelry are not only on my birthday wish list but have been seen on TV sitcoms and been a part of a FEW pre-OSCAR and MTV Movie Awards gifting suites. While her corporate job demands her attention during the day, it is in the evening hours she devotes to her business with goals of making it full time. We discuss her business, how she decompresses and her most recent turn on a game show.
Sit back, kick your feet up and take a listen! And as always, don't forget to like, subscribe and leave a review. Thanks ya'll!!

Though we've never met in real life, talking to Alaina is like speaking with an old friend. Her story of infertility to motherhood then divorce and single motherhood while building a business she loves is nothing short of inspiring. While she doesn't deny her hard work, she knows her faith in God is what has carried her through the bad times and the good.
We laugh our way through this episode sharing our mommy moments while trying to finish before our sweet babes awake from nap time.
Take a listen and enjoy the show!!

Ladies, momming is hard. Dang hard! But you don't have to do it all if dad is willing and fully capable of fulfilling his role as a father. As much as moms like to claim the title of superhero, unfortunately last I checked we were all human which means we need rest. Shoot even some superheros needed to be recharged. You are priority. And guess what? That is more than OK!!

There's no true topic today but more so an honest moment. I'm an emotional mess but I'm working through it.
Be well everyone.
