Top 10-key rules for success
1.Serve others before/ahead of ourselves.
2.Have a long view. Be enthusiastic about making current sacrifices in exchange for long-term gains.
3.To create uncommon value, do the dirty, smelly, hard work that others prefer to avoid. And do the most difficult work first.
4.Challenge the status quo. Teams trend toward complacency over time; the antidote is to passionately earn our way every day
5.Expect success, internalize failure, but don’t celebrate either for long.
- A career lasts a long time; we learn along the way but attempt to avoid creating myths correlating efforts and results. We err when we believe that past successes give us a pass on new deal diligence or when we ignore the impact of luck and timing.
7.The most important thing in business is billing. We might believe that it is technical competence, customer service, supply chain management, pricing or otherwise, but we might not be correct.
8.In all things and in all relationships, be fair and require the same from others. It’s nice to be nice; be the servant we wish to have. Measure the value of relationships and jettison those that cost too much or that we don’t enjoy.
9.The most admirable professional attribute is listening well. Always be learning, risk to implement new knowledge and be hungry to be better at _____ (fill in your own blanks).
10.Being all in is optional, but choices are not without costs. The number of times we bet the farm is optional.

The Matriarch of the family, Barb Glockner, joins us for an audio-only interview because she's just too humble of a person to get in front of a camera...if that tells you anything.
Barb is not shy about her desire for "a small life". "Even Andy" she notes, had other plans that growing an enterprises that employees hundreds of local people. It's exactly that attitude of quiet service, humility, and anonymity that makes her such a powerhouse in the family. What she taught her children is that money, success, and influence should be a non-factor in how they treat people or choosing to do the right thing, and it shows in how they live & work today.

"We knew that there was some benefit to offering crossfit classes to this specific population. The research and the data suggests that high intensity exercise and team exercise has great benefit on the brain and healing.
The folks that we see in early recovery have issues with anxiety and sleep and self esteem...
and locally there is a tremendous amount of stigma... there's a lot of ignorance & lack of understanding about the fact that this is a health issue that requires a health care response, its not a moral failing that requires some kind of moral punishment.
What this partnership's done is it's allowed us to take folks going through treatment and integrate them into the community.
These guys are down there working out at the gym next to your boss, and that's really cool. These are people that otherwise wouldn't have a glimpse into that world and get to know these folks and you realize, well... that guy could be my brother...or she could be mom... he's not going to steal my purse. He's not a bad guy and he's not morally weak, actually, he's tougher than hell because he just beat me in that workout kind of thing... its the great equalizer. The iron doesn't care.
What we're doing is we're taking these folks and surrounding them with a community that cares about them, and we're incorporating the community into their healthcare.
...I just have never been a part of anything like that...
...I have a very special front row seat to the amount of love and compassion that's going into fighting this issue."

Jacob Tolliver is a local piano playing prodigy from West Portsmouth, Ohio.
Right out of high school, after a video he uploaded on youtube caught the attention of the right person, Jacob ended moving to Las Vegas to perform in the Million Dollar Quartet.
A far cry from Jacob’s original plan to attend The Ohio State University, he’s another perfect example of how far anyone in a small town can really go, if only we don’t downplay what we can accomplish because of where we’re from.
From Portsmouth, Ohio being the poster child of the opioid epidemic in 2015, to becoming the National Civic League's 2020 All-America City, I can’t help but feel our small town is brimming with exceptional small town people.
