Episode Description:
Vanessa Hudgens is one of my Disney queens! I didn't see any discussions of her iconic discography, so I reached out to a fellow stan and a podcast legend to help me record this episode. I had the honor of speaking with the radiant, wonderful podcasting/musical genius Mars of the 106 & Seoul: A Black Kpop Podcast, The Shinee Print: A Black Shawol Podcast, and Delete My Nudes: A Queer Podcast. They have a deep knowledge of pop culture and music, and I'm so glad they shared their perspective on the politics of her music career as well as fun facts about the samples and features of some of our favorite tracks. Listen to this episode, follow/subscribe, then go back and listen to Baby V's albums!

If you went to the Dallas concert (or any other stop of Kard's tour), let me know what you think! What were your favorite moments? What are your favorite songs? Who's your bias/biaswrecker? What song was Jiwoo singing that wasn't by that guy?! What songs did they perform for the encore? I want to know everything!

Episode Description:
Hey y'all I'm back with a new way of sharing episodes! I've decided that have at least one public and one Patreon episode each month. This will be my public episode for March, and in two week's time, I'll have a full Patreon episode that you can check out for just five dollars a month. For five dollars a month, you'll be able to access hidden episodes of Season 3 as well as the full episodes of Season 2. This will give me a chance to talk about a lot more topics. Speaking of which, for the upcoming Patreon I'll be reviewing the latest comebacks in 2022, including the album from one of the Girls Generation biases!
Anyway, in this episode, I'm going to introduce a new segment and talk about some Kpop events that have grinded my gears. I'll also share part of my discussion with Nat that didn't make it on to last month's episode due to time, but I thought it fit with this month's theme of casual sexism in Kpop. It's women's history month, so I'm ready to stand up for some newbies and my faves, and I can't wait to hear your opinion. Leave a comment on my YouTube channel, or feel free to talk to me on my Twitter and Instagram at @blkgirltalkspop (see the Linktree above). I'm so excited to bring to you the first episode of the THIRD season of the podcast! I'm honored to be joined by Nat, the amazing co-host of Not Your Average Netizens and Soju Chronicles. As a long-time member of Team Sats, the Saturdays' fandom, she's helping us get to know each of the girls and walking us through their four full-length albums as well as their EP Headlines, which was also their American debut. We also lightly discuss their predecessor Girls Aloud, but there's more where that came from...stay tuned.

My heart goes out to the families of those who were injured or lost their lives at the Astroworld concert. I pray that there will be healing for the individuals who have experienced irreversible devastation. This situation could have been prevented if there was greater consideration and attention to detail in the planning of the event, and I hope that public pressure will bring about the necessary safety measures to protect and prioritize human life.

Hey y'all! It's been a while, so I'm so grateful to you for coming back. This month will be another music haul! First, I'll bring back the segment Hear Me, Hear Me and introduce a new segment called Where Did the Black TV Shows Go. Then on my Patreon, I'll dive into my problems with One Tree Hill's Drama Queens podcast.
After that, I'll discuss the music I've bought! I'll be reviewing the first albums from the Black pop artist Lu Kala (Kah-luh) and the jazz artist Christie Dashiell (Duh-sheel), a former member of the a capella group Afro-Blue. On my Patreon, I'll discuss Meghan Trainor's second album Thank You and GWSN's (Go-won Sun-yuh's), or Girls in the Park's, mini-album The Other Side of the Moon.

Corrections Corner: I listened to the episode of Bachelor Happy Hour (link below) where Rachel addresses Rachel and Ivan's conversation. I'd recommend it! Rachel's much more muted than what I suggested lol. It starts at 20:23, and Rachel makes a great point about the multiple cultures that Tayshia represents and how she could have expanded upon her experience. I thought it was interesting that Rachel mentioned that black and brown leads will be pressured to have these conversations. EVERY LEAD needs to have the range, and we should be expecting this from EVERYBODY, especially white people, who have benefited from not addressing these issues.
Two episodes in one week?! I'm on a roll! I talk about some respectability queens before discussing my latest Kpop faves, Weki Meki. I'm giving a few POC Profiteers the side-eye, and I'm a little nervous about falling in love with these eight girls from Fantagio. Let me know what you think! Make sure you lower your volume, especially if you're wearing headphones. What is this podcast? Loud and emotional. What is this podcast not? Short and sweet. However, I'm back with a 2-hour long podcast about the Lifetime holiday movies Merry Liddle Christmas and Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding. They've got black love, Christmas magic, and family drama - so they're almost perfect! Sorry for the sniffling and audio problems in advance.

Hey y'all! This episode will the first in a series covering the Verzuz battle between the R&B legends Brandy and Monica. Between the age-old competition and the fresh awkward moments, Brandy and Monica give us great vocals, wonderful pearls of wisdom, and a great conversation about defining platonic relationships, especially the ones that are weirdly intimate but maybe really not?
