There are some who don’t want to be thankful because the Europeans came to the North American continent and they equate that with the death of Native Americans. Some believers choose not to offer thanks on this day because they think it is a pagan holiday. In this episode we look at the history and evolution of Thanksgiving in the US.

There are some people in the world who seem to leave a path of destruction where ever they go. This isn’t always physical, they destroy marriages and relationships, they destroy work or school environments, they destroy any trust someone may have placed in them and they are capable of destroying objects as well. When we try to accomplish anything on our own, we may temporarily succeed but it can not last. But when we allow our Creator to use us for HIs glory whatever we do will last forever. On our own we fail, with Him we fin real success.

When we substitute our own ideas and concepts with the words of our Creator, we have replaced His intentions with our desires. What that really means is - to borrow a phrase, “Congratulations, you are now god.”
How many times when discussing Scripture has someone said, "But that's not what it means to me!" This phrase has the potential of beginning replacement theology because it replaces what the words of our Creator mean to Him with what we may WANT it to mean for us.
Most of us have said, “Of course I trust God.” But then when we are faced with real decisions, real life and real death decisions, who do we trust? the Doctor? or maybe the second or third opinion doctors? when we face life changing difficulties, who do we really trust? Who’s advise do we follow? another professional? a close friend? Let’s face it, too many of us find it just too hard to REALLY trust our Creator.

I try not to enter the debate about how to pronounce the name of our Creaotr, instead I examine why it is so important that WE understand our God has a real name and that god either with a capital G or a small g is simply a title. IPsalm 44 tells us that even if we get His name pronounced wrong it's OK. Knowing His name helps us understand all of who our God really is.
