The family is seen and known to be the most important institution in nation building. While the fathers are not sidelined in raising children, on this episode, we are focusing on mothers. In this episode, we will be answering questions such as:

We can’t continue like this!
We have come to a point as a nation where we should change. Things should be better, and can be better if we decide to change. The path to change is a tough one, but one in which we must get to sooner than later. This change is not just about the people in leadership, it is about we the people. Truly, it is what we the people allows that happens in leadership.For example, if a relative assumes a leadership position, and his family relatives and associates do not make or expect unusual demands of such person, that sends a very clear signal to the leader not to go overboard or abuse the office to please anyone. While we expect leaders who are clear-minded, and would do the right things against all pressure, their leadership will be a lot better if the people around them are meritorious in mind. We the people must get back to a meritorious way of living, and that can only happen as we imbibe sound character.
To rebuild our nation, we must live lives of honour. The dirt of decadence that we see around us today needs a mass action for sound character. We need to get everyone to imbibe and display honour.
We must desire to honour ourselves. We don’t need everybody to start, we only need ourselves.
Honour is infectious. You, start it, and you will see everybody replicating it.
We must raise a nation of sound character. We must start the process of rebuilding the nation.
“A good name is better than silver and gold”. Just where has this golden counsel disappeared to? The soul of Nigeria is begging to be free from the shame of corruption that has besieged her. Where has living to have a good name disappeared to? We have emerged into a world of moral bankruptcy that seems to desire riches rather than good names. Great riches chosen at the expense of a good name will end up as poverty. We must educate our world that a good name is still more desirable than riches. Sound Character is the component for a good name. We must make good names appealing again, and let the young ones know that a good name is still more honourable than riches.
Why is the adjective ‘true’ added to success? This is because a lot of things have been attributed as success which truly are not; coupled with the fact that we have emerged into a social media, or better put, “instant media” world. And suddenly, we can’t wait any more. Everything must happen “now!”. Every young person is now concerned with the “end” at the expense of the “means.” Get-rich quick; fame even at the expense of shame; living large and lavish have now become the pursuit of most young people. We need a mass action to change this mindset. We need a mass action for sound character. Any success devoid of sound character is at best a failure.
Nothing just happens. One of the key principles of geology is that “the past is the key to the future”. To understand today, we must look at the past; and to understand the future, we must look at what we do today. What you do today is your history, imagine it laced with sound character!
50 years will never come en-bloc, it is a moment at a time. When we watch what we do every time and align it to sound character, we will have a desirable nation. Let us all take up this challenge personally, because each one of us make up the nation.
No opposition party is stronger than sound character!
Most parts of the world that had not embraced remote working before the COVID-19 pandemic have suddenly realized it is now a good option. We now have the new tag – WFH: Work from Home.
It is, indeed, so exciting to see traffic time taken out of our daily work life. The thrill of sitting on your bed or at your balcony or outside in the garden and work; is, indeed, new. This, however, calls for a high level of trust. HR should trust the staff while the staff should show themselves trustworthy. WFH requires sound character to build the needed trustworthiness.
Work is first and foremost a trust. It is you staying true to what you have been assigned to do. Work, no matter the type, is what reveals your essence. The way you do it speaks volume about your character. The way you do your work when no one is watching is another true test of character. Your work should inspire you, it should come from your heart.
When work is done with a heart of sound character, it sparks with excellence.You must do your job like it’s your work. When a task is your work, you get it done to the best quality without a supervisor.
Dear teenagers, it is time to be self-aware, so you can evolve from this life stage with the right results. It starts with self-perception (knowing your strengths & weaknesses), self-expression (communicate clearly so people get what you are saying), interpersonal relationship (get along very well with family and friends), decision-making (make good choices and quickly too) and stress management (let pressure bring out the best in you). Parents should be patient with their teenagers to support them to build these life skills.
As you come to self-awareness, be patient with yourself and answer this question “What is my assignment on earth?” There are tons of resources on this, find them and dig deep so you can find your purpose. Living a deliberate life should start in your teenage years. Living a life of purpose is not just for adults, it starts in your teenage years.
Fatherhood is one of the greatest privileges ever. The privilege of having a wife and both of you working together, to raise children, is one of the most influential tasks as far as Nation-building is concerned.
Misplaced priorities make a lot of fathers focus on their economic status at the expense of their character status. They do whatever it takes to live up to a defined economic status at the expense of role-modelling sound character.
Great children are products of love-filled environments. Fathers need to be deliberate about raising great followers from whom great leaders will emerge for ournation”.
This is a call for the young ones to put on your light and let it shine.
You need to understand that the process is more important than the success, i.e. the road to success is more important than success itself.
Embrace Sound Character!
