In this new lacrosse specific podcast, lacrosse player and lifetime fan of the game Justin Gill, talks with some of the best lacrosse players who have ever donned a Newtown Golden Eagles jersey plus others who hail from the Cattaraugus Territory on how they learned the game in the backyard and eventually reached the pinnacles of the lacrosse world. Justin, with his nearly 30 years of playing experience at the Junior B, Junior College/Division 3 level, Senior B, and Senior A level with the Six Nations Chiefs, uses his vast knowledge and insight of the game to hear the stories and lessons each lacrosse legend will bring to this podcast. So grab a chair, bring some water, and lets talk lacrosse from one player to another.

Our guest on this episode is a 1996 MILL World Champion with the Buffalo Bandits and a 2000 Presidents Cup Champion with the Newtown Golden Eagles. With a Sr career almost spanning 4 decades this Newtown legend has played a crucial role in net for many successful teams. We talk about his beginnings at the Newtown box, his professional career, and how it felt when he finally got the opportunity to play with his older brother JC at the Sr level. We talk about the significance of wearing #2 and winning the ultimate Sr B prize with his friends and family he grew up playing with since minor lacrosse.

Our guest on this episode was an All-American in high school and played an integral part on two Syracuse Womens lacrosse teams. She has an impressive International resume and has had quite the journey to get to where she is today. She was faced with 2 major decisions throughout her career that would shape the outcome but perservered and came out the other side more successful. She has been on the cover of major magazines and has been able to continue to blaze a path for the youger generations. We talk about the backyard games with her mom and dad and her introduction to organized lacrosse with Seneca Girls. We also touch on her experience in high school at Lake Shore as well as her college days in the Dome. We speak about her opportunity to medal with Team Canada and how much her family support has meant to her career.

Our guest on this episode electrified the lacrosse community with his performance during the Premier Lacrosse League's Championship series accumulating with the title, championship game mvp, attackman of the series, and the Golden Stick award for most goals scored. All while simultaniously capturing the hearts of many with his humbleness, soft spoken demeanor, and family first values. Our guest on this episode of The Backyard Lacrosse Podcast is a good friend of mine from back in the day, he is an All-American out of D2 New York Institute of Technology, and a former player in the National Lacrosse League with the Georgia Swarm. We go into how he learned the game at an early age and how his box lacrosse background vaulted him from high school to Junior College then ultimately achieving success at New York Tech all while fighting through 2 serious injuries. We touch on how he felt to have his name called in the NLL Entry Draft then going on to make the Georgia Swarm roster. We talk family and how much their support can help in tough times. We also cover what opportunities he is getting today teaching the game of lacrosse to the younger generation all while still staying ready for the next professional teams phone call.
