The Roll Off!

The Roll Off Show is a Board Gaming Podcast in which we take two very games that share very similar traits and have them "Roll Off" against each other as one person sides for Game "A" and the other for Game "B".

We're not just a debate show (though that is the meat of our content), we also dive into reviewing what's hot in the gaming world as well as giving our opinions on some of the biggest topics going around the industry. So be sure to tag along with our two hosts Ethan and Brett as we enter the arena and prepare to Roll Off!

The Roll Off returns after a week due to some real life troubles, but never fear we're back and ready to Roll Off all the games!

In this episode we start off by talking about where we've been in the past week and then proceed to discuss some updates to the show including our recently addition to the Itunes podcast library as well as a few other things.

Then we get to the real meat of this weeks episode as we talk about how competitive play and TCGs drive us to always want to win and make us more aggressive in our games.

Finally, we wrap up the show with a different kind of Roll Off where we discuss whether established companies should be using the website Kickstarter for their upcoming games.

Its our very first episode of Roll Off, and in this series we take two games and have them "Roll Off" against each and boy do we start off with a bang.

Our hosts Ethan and Brett start of the series by giving a short intro about their gaming history and what inspired them to start this little serious and then the real show begins with our "What have we been doing?" segment.

Ethan then gives his recap on Gen Con 2012 with what was hot, the big hits from Fantasy Flight and Privateer Press and a surprise hit of the show. Then wraps up the segment by going over his True Dungeon run and why you too should do True Dungeon. Don't fear though, because we aren't done talking about Gen Con yet as over the next few episodes we're going to be covering some of the hit games that released these past couple of weeks at the con.

As we move on though, Brett can't hold his excitement as we open up the brand new game from Arcane Wonders "Mage Wars"! We give you an in depth look at the rules of Mage Wars and then give our true opinion on if you should Buy it, Pass it, or Wait on it.

But we aren't just a review show after all so we have to take Mage Wars to the arena where it will battle against the legend Magic: the Gathering as Brett debates for Mage Wars and Ethan will fight for Magic. Who will win? That's where you get to decide!

To Vote, either comment on this page or go to our Facebook Page, Twitter, or email us your choice of who won this "Roll Off".
