Well now, here's a blast from the past (2006 to be exact - not that far back really). Just thought I'd stick up this old mix that I'd given out to a few friends back in the day... Loads of nice deep house tunes on here that still sound cracking today, mixed on my old belt drives and CDJ500s (R.I.P). Starting with the much overlooked original of Tides, some classic Paper Recordings from back when Crazy P had a cock, a couple of anthems from Slam and Westbam, the obligatory slice of genius from C2, an obscure piece of kiwi deepness and a couple of nice ones from the dance giants Sasha and Orbital.

Just a snapshot of what I was mixing a few years back that I thought might interest anyone who didn't get it first time around.

Episode 9 is contributed by Luke Barbour. An intriguing mix of drum and bass, dubstep, ambient, warped electronica, techno and house beats, this is Luke's first effort at creating a mix and reflects his varied and tasteful approach to electronic music. The mix was recorded in the confines of an intimate basement studio somewhere in deepest darkest Mancunia, Sterling effort dude.

Dark, menacing techno on this pounding mix from the undisputed authority on fist-pumping, foot-stomping and head-nodding. Designed to be played late and loud, this is not for the faint-hearted. You have been warned.

50 odd minutes on why having horns in songs is the bee's knees. Picked with love and "mixed" without care by Dan J (She Who Must Be Obeyed).

A mix of soul, funk and white boy post punk by my brother. His band She Who Must Be Obeyed debuted recently and are, in my humble opinion, the bollocks. This view was shared by the few lucky enough to witness this classy display of electro-funk-punk-jazz-dancehall-rock-dub.

See She Who Must Be Obeyed Live in Nottingham: October 14th - The Maze October 26th - The Social

Go and see them, they will blow your tiny mind.
