This is Paul's song at the end of Acts 20. Notice how he peels off the layers for the people he ministered to. We discuss what it means in the podcast to be transparent.

Follow along with me. We are continuing in Acts 20, and a few verses in Psalm 32. Our value system should not come from the majority vote, or the highest bidder, we have a value system that comes from God.
Trying to check out early? Don't worry, we have so many vices these days from scrolling phones to coffee buzzes, but we aren't called out yet to the new kingdom that Christ is bringing with Him? Are we a part of it? Definitely, but we got some work to do still.

God is so good to take our horrible moments and circumstances and redeem them. He has a plan, friends. He is our comfort and our stay. There is no one like the Lord.
Continuing our story about Paul when he was "done, done" preaching to the Jews and how funny the Lord is because he has no interest in our hard lines we draw against others.
Do you get the urge to "burn it down"...like the whole thing. What you felt God wanted you to do blew up in your face...I mean, why the hassle? Paul has been here too.
We are continuing following Paul's journey in Acts 18.
We are finishing off our Acts chapter 17 study today. It's so nice to know that those overwhelming things God has for us to do, He plans to do Himself....through us.
We continue today in Act 17:16- talking about Paul's approach to Athens. As I am writing this, I am reminded, no matter how we may exalt someone who navigates their culture well, we know that ALL, and only nothing without, Christ is possible. Let's deepen our faith, shall we?

What do you do when provoked? What really grosses you out and makes you want to take flight? Maybe something that you would never find yourself doing? Or excusing? Let's study that today?
We need to stop thinking that taking up someone else's fear is a godly pursuit. If someone is asking you to live according to their fears, they are asking you to depart from the spirit of God.
2 Timothy 1:7
Jesus isn't interested in hype or crowds for crowds sake. He is interested in the one. That's good news for you and me.

I love this little passage where Paul takes up the side of the jailer by refusing to leave, even when all the doors were opened. That's how we love those in disagreement with us. Take up their side...whew, hope I don't get tested on this ;)

We need ground and sky in our theology. Constantly looking up in dread (far right) mischaracterises God, and erases personal distinction(many fall away from fundamentalism because of the feeling that they have no value, therefore they are not motivated to stick around, it's not because they are extra evil. It is really that simple).
Too much looking at the ground starts to make things about us, our gifting, we slowly lose holy distinction, and we fall away because God doesn't share his glory with anyone, including you or me. And trying to do the Christian thing, with overt sin in our lives, therefore without the HOLY spirit living through us, is not a thing. It really isn't.
Is Jesus face enough? I mean it that was all that there were on the other side. Might be something we need to visit and examine in our lives.
In Paul's determination to encourage Timothy, we see how the presence of God is all that Paul needs! Is it all that you need?
I've been forgetting to write in this little section here. Anyway, in this podcast we talk about how necessary it is to believe God's word, in it's entirety, is God breathed.
I really wouldn't rather be partying than serving Jesus. The love of God expels the desire to sin, but I do think the Christian life isn't a cake walk, and we definitely shouldn't be cutting our legs off trying to participate (ooo I love me some cake!). What I am trying to say is, WE NEED ALL of God's word, ALL of it. It just so happens that ALL of it is inspired.
Last part of chapter 2 in 2 Timothy where we discuss a bit about soapboxes without nuance or tensions expressed. The best way to define scripture sometimes, is often WITH scripture.

We are continuing today with Paul's idea about those that profess Christ, and just what areas, or categories, namely 4, they can fall under.
Yikes! A little about Predestination and how not important it is in the bigger scheme of things! Ha! It is all about our focus and our willingness to take on the cross of Christ.
Often was has a foothold on us if very presentable in public. It isn't like the porn we hide, or the addiction in the closet. It's a functional idolatry that can sit happily in the pew and not be disturbed about it at all.
Come with us as we peruse 2 Timothy 2 and Paul's encouragement to Timothy to embrace suffering....while writing these words from jail.
Our God doesn't make mistakes.
Legacy what is it? What is it based upon? How can I believe in God's power sitting in the dungeon of dead ends?

So it didn't take me long to figure out while studying that the Lord was leading us to keep going with the Timothys.
Now we are in book 2 chapter 1.
How necessary is it to work out your specific gift? Super.....at least according to Paul, and since he was inspired by God, we better pull up and listen.
Heading into the second chapter of Proverbs in this one and wrapping back around to the idea of innocence and the importance of valuing it.
John 3:16
For God so loved the WORLD, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have ever lasting life.

We talk more about how wisdom doesn't condemn us to hell if we don't adhere to it, it emphasises, in no uncertain terms, that how "we do" this life matters.
How much are we aware than wisdom ain't going anywhere? No matter how much our culture ignores it.
Proverbs 1:20-28
Fight the good fight of faith, know that Jesus is the only possible way we are able to fight the fight. We are operating from victory, not to be muddling around with dos and donts, but "I won't because I don't wanna."
There is more for the fighter who seeks His face through faith.
If we honestly assessed the impossibility of being godly without Christ, why do we try living the Christian life without Him. It will surely devolve into meaninglessness.
Luke 12: 22 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.
I Timothy 6
We discuss a load of things like: enslavement, mental health, balancing our views and embracing tensions.
“Only be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest have good success whithersoever thou goest” (Joshua 1:7).
I forgot to read the passage from Genesis. Sorry about posting this too early. What happened??? Anyway, this is the verse Genesis 18: 21 "I will go down now and see if they have done entirely according to its outcry, which has come to Me, and if not I will know."
This is indicative, of not just rights or wrong, but an awareness of spiritual effect. We cannot overlook the spirit realm like some churches do, not can we not have the investigative (orderly) aspect of discernment. God is a God of order, too. Let me just say, not MY version of order, but order, nonetheless.
