In the book of Mark Pastor Lanny shows how Jesus used ordinary people to accomplish great things. Jesus selected common men and empowered them to accomplish more than their own abilities would have allowed. Today, we can receive this same empowerment if we will just remember that Jesus has all power, Jesus has all authority, and that Jesus gets all the glory.
The Pharaoh of Egypt proclaimed to Moses saying, "Who is this Jehovah and why should I obey him". Since Pharaoh challenged God God released a plague of frogs on Egypt. Finally, Pharaoh asked Moses to have God remove the frogs. Moses asked Pharaoh when he would like the frogs to go away. Pharaoh asked to have the frogs removed tomorrow. God would have removed the frogs that very day, but since Pharaoh didn't ask for that he had to spend one more day with the frogs. In this sermon the frogs represent the consequences of Pharaohs sins against God. In our daily lives there are consequences for disobeying God.
In Hebrews Chapter 2, God instructed Jonah to go to Nineveh to preach. Jonah tried to run from God. He boarded a ship and headed in the opposite direction. Jonah was thrown overboard by the other passengers to calm the raging sea caused by Jonah's disobedience. Once he was thrown from the ship, the winds subsided, the sea calmed, and his fellow passengers lives' were spared. Now that God had Jonah's full attention, Jonah went to Nineveh and preached as God had instructed. Today, the message is the same. There are consequences from trying to run from God.
Pastor Lanny King describes hell and points to scripture verses indicating that people in hell actually know where they are and constantly beg for a way out. They know that Jesus provided a way to avoid hell, but they resisted his grace and now it is too late for them. Join Lanny as he describes the way to avoid hell and claim heaven.
