Abraham faced one of the most difficult tests recorded in the Bible. His example is important for us and emphasizes the importance of trials in strengthening our faith and character. Through Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son and God's provision of a ram, we see the significance of faithful obedience, foreshadowing Jesus' sacrifice on the cross.
The goal of following Jesus is to imitate him and build his kingdom on earth through repentance and faith. We do this by the power of the Holy Spirit in us. He empowers believers to live out their faith and encourages reliance on him through prayer, scripture, fellowship, and service.
Palm Sunday is the start of Holy Week: the final week before Jesus’ death on the cross. In this sermon, we explore why Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem like did and its significance for us today.
To follow and obey Jesus we need God’s grace every single day. Because God knows this, he has provided four primary means of grace Christians: the Bible, Prayer, the Church, and the Sacraments.
Loving God and others are the highest priority in our lives, as highlighted in the greatest commandment in Matthew 22:34-40. True love for God involves deep affection, obedience, and meditation on His Word, leading to joy in obeying His commandments. Additionally, we are to love others, including enemies, through acts of kindness, prayer, and forgiveness, reflecting the love of God and demonstrating true discipleship.
Truly following Jesus means being more than just part of the crowd. Success in ministry is not about numbers but relationship depth. We must prioritize Jesus above all else, even family. Not committing wholeheartedly to Christ could render one ineffective for God's kingdom, as Jesus demands complete allegiance.
There is a movement in culture to redefine the family in their terms and according to their thoughts and opinions, as if they have something better in mind that God. This noise is not only coming from outside the church, but even within her. Despite this effort, we must remind ourselves and others that the Lord was not confused not was he short-sited when he created Adam and Eve. God alone is the designer, definer and architect of men, women, and the family.
Far too many Christians have grown too comfortable with God, especially the birth of Jesus. This Christmas Eve, we hope that you remain in of the Lord and his majesty.
Jesus came into the world in the most humble and expected manner. God himself in human form, came to us in order that we would know his sacrificial love.
Christmas is all about anticipation. More than the countdown presents and time with family, the anticipation that filled the heart of Mary and the shepherds was one of everlasting joy. In Christ, we not only look towards the coming joy, but have access to perfect joy through the Holy Spirit.
Long before his arrival, Jesus was promised by the Prophets of the Old Testament. The prophecy delivered by Isaiah would not only describe Christ’s arrival, but even describe his birth, life, death and resurrection. The Savior spoken by the prophets was not random or without purpose, but was cause for great hope.
God will either discipline and correct us as a loving Father, or punish us because of our sins as a righteous Judge.
Sin has consequences. Whether we choose to believe it or not, sin will always bring God’s righteous judgment, wrath, and destruction. God is good and he is great not only in his blessings, but also in his judgement of Sodom and Gomorrah.
God is good in all that he does. Because God is holy and just, he must judge sin. Therefore we must remember that God’s judgement is always good, and is and flows from his holiness. God’s warning to Abraham of the impending doom of Sodom should serve as a reminder that God is the perfect Judge.
God is great, and his works are wonderful. In the moments when things are grim and seem impossible that’s when God shows up.
The life and obedience of Abraham shows us that God’s promises are true and will come to pass. We do not need to help him, but show that we trust him by putting our faith to work.
God is always work. Even when circumstances seem unlikely and grim, he is working and always keeps his promises. Like God reminding Abraham that he is the Almighty, we must remember who God is and find our peace and faith in him alone.
When it comes to waiting, we often try to help God. However, instead of making things better, we often make a bigger mess of things when we make our detours around God’s plans.
Our blessing will always be a result of a battle. The troubles that we face are not for nothing because is always working to produce holiness in us.

Jesus is eternal, the second person of the Godhead and Creator of all things. Since he is the Creator of all things, he is the Lord over everything.
It’s a new day. Noah and his family are multiplying, tending to the land, but sin still exists. Moses, the author of Genesis, makes one thing very clear: humanity will continue to sin if left to ourselves.
The waters have subsided, Noah is called to leave the ark, and God establishes his new covenant with man.

The story of Cain and Abel is a humble reminder of having authentic worship before the Lord. We are not free to worship his as we please, or believe whatever we think about him. We must always seek to worship God in Spirit and in truth.
Since Genesis 3, sin’s effects have been felt throughout the cosmos. It’s not only around us, but lays at the very center of our being. In order to understand the vast reach that sin has, we must first understand why the Fall was such a disastrous moment in history.
Sin and temptation is all around us. Their reach has extended to every corner of our world, and hides deeply in our hearts. This was not always the case, but is the result of the Fall seen in Genesis.
Genesis 2 is a picture of what a perfect world looks like. Humans were truly free to obey God, and lived a place that was unencumbered by sin. This picture is only a reminder of what took place in the past, but a glimpse of the promise, purpose, and paradise that will be fulfilled in Christ.
God is sovereign and in control of everything. The book of Genesis opens with the Lord putting his desire and purpose in Creation. Even in our chaos, he is in control and working all things to conform us to Christ Jesus.
There are many things to observe learn from the book of Genesis. Genealogies, kingdoms, and nations are listed throughout, however, the purpose of the book is to show us God’s plan for redemption. The stories in Genesis sets the stage for the big story of the Bible: Creation, Fall, Redemption, Restoration.
Genesis is not just the first book of the Bible, it sets God’s plan for redemption in motion. Even from the first few verses we see who God is, his sovereignty, and design for all things.

There are many things to focus on as we welcome the new year. However, for Christians one thing remains true among all of our plans, resolutions, and trials: Jesus is the same today, yesterday, and forever.
In this special Christmas Day sermon, we celebrate the birth of Jesus. He is at the heart of Christmas and our faith, worthy of all praise.
God’s love is amazing. Out of his love and desire to save sinners, he sent Jesus to be born in to this world. He lived a perfect life, paid the price for our sin on the cross, and overcame death in his resurrection. Through Jesus alone, we have been justified before the Father, and adopted by him. As believers, we are no longer who we once were, but are new creatures though Christ.
The need for all mankind is not about our sexuality, but our need of the gospel. When looking at sexuality we must ask ourselves, “What has God said on the matter?” The Bible is our ultimate authority and the gospel is our ultimate hope. Through it, we see God’s moral laws perfectly fulfilled in Jesus. In him we are freed from the bondage of sin and empowered to follow and obey God. As believers, we are to bring truth and love to all people, including those in the LGBTQ community. We do not separate truth and love, but bring them both to a world that is in desperate need of a Savior.
God created humans as sexual beings. He is not frightened by sex, taken off guard by it, or disapproving it. As a matter of fact, sex is designed by him. Therefore, he sets the boundaries. Contrary to what culture believes, his boundaries are for our good and for our flourishing.
In this sermon, Pastor Lorenzo walks us through a biblical understanding of ethics, and how culture has deteriorated what is right and wrong. As created beings by God, we are not free to decide what is right and what is wrong, that belongs to the Lord. His goodness is the standard, not ours.

However, the Bible teaches us that Jesus is the Truth. Truth is a person, and he is absolute. Jesus is Lord over all, he defines our reality, and by his grace we can know the Truth in a personal way.
Our love for the Lord cannot be on autopilot, love for God is more than just going through the motions. Many things will rival for our love, but we must avoid all the noise and resist the things calling for our affections. Christ came to give us a new heart that is free to love and enjoy God forever. Together we cultivate our love in community, active our love by serving and giving, and ignite our love by sharing our faith.

Love is a Habit - We were created by God to love. We are more than thinkers and believers, at the core we are lovers who that which we love. The question is not if we worship, but who we worship? Therefore, we must calibrate our hearts, remember we are what you worship, and only be satisfied in Jesus.
We often confuse relief with hope. Relief is a great thing, but it is temporary. Hope, however, is lasting and is what we hold to despite our circumstances. Jesus came to bring hope that stays true through all things. No matter what we face this new year or years to come, Jesus is on the throne and gives us abounding hope through the Holy Spirit.
We go to work, school and sleep like if there aren’t any problems in the world. The truth is, if we take one step out of our comfort, the world’s problems become evident. It’s easy to stay in our safe places, avoiding trouble, but that’s not what Jesus did. In love Jesus came into this world to lay his life down sacrificially in our place. This love is for us! This love arrived that first Christmas morning and continues to change our lives today.
Christmas is all about joy! We are reminded of these three truths: joy breaks through our toughest and greatest times, joy comes in the morning and lastly, joy came to us by God through Jesus Christ.
Peace was delivered to us through Jesus that first Christmas morning. Jesus himself is peace, and he was born, lived, died and resurrected to bring us peace with God. Because Jesus is our peace, we can have a relationship with him knowing that his peace is bigger than our sins and all of our circumstances.
Advent isn't just the weeks leading up to Christmas, it's the time we get to look back at the hope that was brought to us that first Christmas morning, and a time to look to the hope that is still to come. Despite the countless issues and struggles in our world, one thing remains true: Jesus is our hope.
Kingdom citizens live life in the real world, not to impress others, but for the glory of God our Father. Kingdom citizens live all of life in the presence of God, in submission to God, and in full dependence on God. Kingdom Citizens are transformed from the inside out, which produces a life of righteousness in the real world. Kingdom citizens live with purpose in the real world, demonstrating and advancing the Kingdom of God.
The Gospel is our Focus, it defines our mission and purpose. The Gospel is our Fuel, it calls us and sends us, both convicts and compels. The Gospel is our Fulfillment, it reveals God’s grace & power to accomplish the word and work of the church.
As Kingdom citizens we are called by God to live out our faith both individually and as a church family. What we focus on in life determines how we live our life.
God’s people will love their enemies. Our love as Christians should stand out and be different from the word’s love. It’s easy to love those who love us, but in order to love the ones that hate us, we must first be loved by God.
Kingdom Citizens do not seek revenge for themselves. Jesus reminds that we are to give to our enemies and pray for them. We humble ourselves and remember that vengeance belongs to God, not us.
Kingdom Citizens pursue and speak the truth at all times, at all costs. In order to do this we must reject all deceitfulness, worship God as sovereign, and stay on guard against Satan.
Divorce is messy, and should always be the absolute last resort. The Bible gives two reasons for divorce, adultery and abandonment. We are to seek counseling and fight for our marriages every single day, however because of sin it is not always possible to keep the union. There is still good news though, Jesus offers forgiveness and freedom the sin of adultery and divorce by his work on the cross.
Lust has existed ever since sin entered the world. Everyone has dealt with it at one point or another. God designed sexual intimacy between married men and women, anything outside of that is lust and sin. Jesus takes the Old Testament laws a step further, and tells us that we are to not only commit acts of adultery, but to resist and fight our natural tendencies of lust.
Matthew 5:21-46 has been regarded as, “The Antithesis” portion of the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus shifts in his sermon and begins to establish a new Law. Jesus does not condemn the Law of the Old Testament, but rather fulfills it and gives his people, Kingdom Citizens a new way to live.
The Sermon on the Mount is not rightly understood until we have grasped and understood it as a whole, not just in its parts. Unfortunately most people only understand bits and pieces of the King's Manifesto. In this sermon, we take a look at Matthew 5 to better understand the Sermon on the Mount in its entirety.
In Matthew, Jesus delivers his manifesto to his people. As his followers and citizens of the Kingdom of God, we are to obey and follow the commands of our King in all that we do.
On the cross we see the perfect love of God put on display for us. In love God chose us, and in love he sent Jesus. In love Jesus lived a perfect life, and in love he laid his life down on the cross. It was a dark day, the day that God died, and yet we call it Good Friday. John tells us how and why in chapters 17-19.
It’s Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week. Today we reflect on Matthew 21 and Jesus’ triumphal entry into the city of Jerusalem. The entire country knows that Jesus has raised a dead man, healed the blind, and cured the sick. Everyone worships Jesus because their king has finally arrived.
In Matthew 22 Jesus gives us the Great Commandment. As believers, we are commanded to love God with our entire being, with all of our heart, soul and mind.
Sex is good, designed by God, and is meant to be enjoyed between and a husband and wife. Contrary to the Bible, the culture tells us that we can enjoy sex whenever we want, wherever we want. The sad truth is, this leads to many wounds and hurt in peoples’ lives. However, there is hope and freedom from all of our mistakes through Jesus. There’s nothing too broken for God, not your past or relationships.
We all look for perfect, unending and infinite love. People search to find it and share it, however without God it can never be found. In order to offer this love in our relationships, we must first experience the perfect love that God has for us.
We’re often told that our special someone will change with time, and if time doesn’t change them then we certainly can help them change. Although we can help build healthy habits and routines, we cannot change someone’s heart. Only God can do that.
God’s never puts his tools in the toolshed of our hearts to go to waste. Regardless of where you are in life, single, dating, married, or wanting to be married, God’s call on Christians remains the same. Let us seek intimacy with Jesus at all times.
Singleness comes from God. In 1 Corinthians, the Apostle Paul urges us to pursue Christ in all things, even while you’re single. Let your attention and time not be divided, but on the Lord.
In order for us to know love and give love, we must be connected to the ultimate source of love.
What is your reason for following God? The religious leaders in Jesus’ day following him for their temple, their purification system, and to show off their good deeds. In John 2, Nicodemus asks Jesus, “What must I do to be saved?” The answer that Jesus gave him is the same answer for us today, “You must be born again”. We don’t turn into babies again, but instead we repent and believe in the gospel of Jesus.
It’s so easy to forget the basics: the who, what, where and why. In this sermon, we take a look at Jesus’ design for his Church and his people. May we always be reminded that we are saved, built, and sustained by Jesus alone.
Many of us struggle in our walk with Christ because we try to squeeze the new things of God into our old ways of living. We must give up everything, our mistakes, history, past, success and failure and follow Jesus.
Satan's favorite way to get Christians to fall is through discouragement. He's done this throughout all of history. In the Old Testament, the people of God grew impatient and discouraged, then gave up waiting on him. However, a few believed that God was greater than their doubt and trusted in him. God provided a remedy for them back then, and still does today. What has you discouraged? What's causing fear in your life? Our focus and trust is in God, no one or nothing else.
Jesus makes all things new. In John 2, we see Jesus' power on full display at the wedding at Cana. Jesus didn't just turn water into wine to show us a cool trick, he did so so that we might see a new to live our lives: full dependence on Jesus. We no longer look to the world to bring solutions to our biggest problems, but look to Jesus. The God that has power over nature and time, even the molecules in the water that we drink, promises to give those that believe in him joy that overcomes all things.
Being thankful isn’t always easy. For many of us, it doesn’t come naturally. However, as believers, we can trust that God is in control of all things and is ultimately working out all things for our good. No matter what life brings, we can worship and thankful in everything.
We are saved by grace through faith the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This grace is given freely by God to save us, heal us, frees us and transform us.
God’s got something for everything you need. There is no such thing as insufficient grace. Therefore, we must: grow in grace, trust in grace, and serve by grace.
We are saved not by our own works but by the saving power of the cross. Because of Jesus’ perfect life, death and resurrection we have life abundantly with God. The power of grace saves us and turns our whole life around.
In Adam, all died. Because of the sin committed by the first man and woman created by God, Adam and Eve, we are all born with sin and will one day face death. This sin separates us from God, leaving us helpless on our own. However, God sent his Son, Jesus Christ into the world to bring us into a loving relationship with God. Jesus lived a perfect life, free of sin, died on the cross, paid the price for the sins of the world, and died a real death. The story didn’t end there, and Jesus rose from the grave three days later. Because of the work of Jesus, we now have hope in being saved from sin and death. We don’t deserve salvation, but God chooses to show us grace and forgives us of our sins.
Too often we settle for the “ordinary things” of this world when God has created us for a greater purpose, to know Him and make Him known. This week we learned that God is calling us to: A Greater Motivation to Worship, A Greater Willingness to Trust Him, A Greater Determination to Obey Him, and A Greater Passion to Serve Him.
By grace we are saved, sustained, and persevered. In Romans 8, the apostle Paul shares of God's everlasting love for us. He reminds us that God has been at work for all eternity, and there is nothing that can takeaway what he has declared for his will.
In the closing verses of Colossians, Paul encourages his congregation to remain faithful in their prayer, witness, and service. It's through our faithfulness that Christ works through us. We share our faith, grow through our difficulties in all areas of life.
Jesus is over everything, even our families. In the first half of Colossians 3 Paul gives instructions for spouses, in the second half he provides commands for children. God has designed families for his glory and his purpose.
Marriage was created by God. In his goodness, God brings us together as families with distinct roles and responsibilities. When we follow God’s will and instruction for marriage, his goodness and mercy will be reflected in our families.
Is Jesus over everything in your life? As Christians, we put our old self to death. All worldly things in us must be laid to rest as we enjoy the peace and freedom given to us freely from God.
The word gospel simply means "good news", the good news of Jesus. In his life, death, and resurrection we have salvation from our sins. The gospel works in us, through us, and around us, and frees us to follow Jesus and play a part in God's big story.
Jesus is superior, he is supreme, he is fully and sufficient in all things. This is why we say, Jesus Over Everything. Jesus was, has and will always be more than enough.
As Christians, we are to be filled with the knowledge of God. In Christ we have forgiveness from our sin, and now walk in freedom and joy. We honor the Lord in all that we do, bear fruit, and anticipate return of our king, Jesus.
In the opening verses of Colossians, Paul reminds of the Gospel. We are not saved by what we do, or how hard we try to please God. We are saved by Jesus’ life, death on the cross, and his resurrection alone.
Jesus is the divine, preeminent Son of God. He rules and reigns over all creation, both the visible and invisible. Through him we are forgiven for our sins and receive salvation by grace, through faith alone.
In Adam all died. Although sin entered the world through man, we are saved and redeemed through another. Our Great Savior, Jesus Christ was born into our world, lived a perfect life, died, and rose again to save us from our sin.
In light of who Jesus is and what he has done, we pursue God by faith. Faith requires action to each other, the Church, and our neighbor. We encourage one another, meet together, and serve together.
Sin is not a problem on the outside. We look for answers in new jobs, new homes, new churches, however, sin is a problem on the inside. God must first work inside of us so that we can live a life that glorifies and honors him.
Waiting on God can seem hopeless at times. Whether it’s with friends or family, waiting can seem like forever. However, we know that if we part of God’s family, God is always at work whether we see it or not.
The Christian life is a race. It is not a walk or a jog, it is a race. Our race begins with Jesus, ends with Jesus, and together we run with the family of God.
Satan’s first scheme against humans came against our first mother, Eve. His first trick remains his favorite against mothers and women, especially on days like Mother’s Day. However, God’s grace covers our shortcomings and builds us up from his Son, Jesus.
Victory comes from the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Nothing else in this world compares to the victory and freedom given freely by God.
Freedom isn’t something you find outside of you, it’s something that God puts inside of you. Freedom is not something external, it is internal given to us from God through Jesus Christ. Grace, peace and freedom comes from Jesus alone.
When the storms of chaos come in life, the resurrection reminds us that the God who sent his son, the God who died for you, the God who rose again...is for you.
No matter what we go through, we have hope in Jesus who secured our victory on the cross and through his resurrection. There is nothing in this world that can stop God's sovereign work in our lives.

With so many questions and uncertainty surrounding us, it is easy to think, "Where is God?" However, we can find peace in the God who is always in control no matter what our circumstances may look like.
In the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak, you don't have to look far to see pain and suffering. The Bible doesn't guarantee a trials free life, but it does promise us that despite what we may face, Jesus is our protector, our joy, and our victory.
