This episode we are joined by "The Roger Penske of Soapbox Derby Racing" Mr. Jerry Pearson. For those of us that remember having to wait in traffic to get into IMS in May, you may remember passing a downhill derby track by 30th street. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they do in fact still have soapbox derby races at that track, and many others across the country! Jerry is a 40+ year veteran of the sport and is apart of an organization called Indy Derby Racers where they teach derby racing to the inner-city kids of Indianapolis AND take them to participate in races across the country. Jerry is a wonderful guy who's very passionate about derby racing and he has some incredible stories to tell!

Fred has also worked in Indycar for the last 10+ years with teams like Dale Coyne Racing, Team Pelfrey, and Andretti Autosport. He's had an extensive career in motorsports from owning his own F2000/StarMazda team to managing programs for Andersen Racing and Team Pelfrey to engineering Indy Lights cars for Sage Karam, Ed Jones, and Neil Alberico. We dive into topics like daddy issues and how Tony George caused him to lose a girlfriend in high school. He talks about the state of the Mazda Road to Indy and we relive a horrendous race weekend in Road Atlanta from 2006. A true champion and a great interview!
