Peter was a fearless preacher of the Word of God. The result of his Christ centred preaching, brought him into conflict with the enemies of the truth, but the Lord gave His servant a holy boldness to preach the whole council of God.
The Lord Jesus is wonderful in so many ways, but those who heard Him preach He was wonderful in all that He said.
When entering the temple, Peter fixed his eyes on a lame man who was there. He told the lame man to look to Christ and be healed.
Peter was filled with the Holy Ghost, and as he preached, a revival broke out, and three thousand souls were saved.
The Apostle Peter spoke about two men, one of whom would be chosen to take the place of Judas Iscariot. Those two are not mentioned anywhere else in Scripture.
The dear Lord Jesus is always ready and willing to give the backslider a second chance to serve Him, as He did to Peter.
After the Lord's resurrection, Peter decided to go back to fishing. The Lord appeared by sea, but Peter did not recognize him, He was a stranger to him
Simon Peter on three occasions denied ever knowing the Saviour. He suffered a fall into sin, but the Lord was merciful and gave him hope of restoration.
When the Lord revealed to Simon Peter the plans Satan had for him, the Lord told him, -But I have prayer for thee.- Christ is our praying Saviour.
Throughout His public ministry, the Saviour showed His humility in many ways. The night He bowed to wash the feet of His disciples was another example of His humility.
When the Lord Jesus came into world, as God manifest in flesh, He did so as a poor man. That poverty was seen when tribute money had to be paid.
When the Lord led Peter and two other disciples up into a mountain to pray, it was a prayer meeting at which the saw Christ in His glory.
After being rebuked by the Lord, Peter and two other disciples were taken by the Lord to a high mountain for a prayer meeting. Prayer will take us to higher ground with God.
The Lord rebuked His disciple Peter for trying to prevent the Saviour from going to to the cross.
After declaring that Christ is the Son of the living God, Peter then rebukes the Saviour. The Lord then uttered a sharp rebuke to His disciple.
When challenged, the apostle Peter was very quick to confess that he believed the Lord Jesus Christ to be the Son of God.
When the Saviour challenged His disciples with regard to His Deity, Peter spoke up immediately and declared that he believed Christ to be God.
Sometimes the storms of life overwhelm us, when everything seems to be against us, all is dark around us. There is only one answer, look to the Lord and He will keep us from sinking beneath the waves of fear and anxiety.
To be a true follower or disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, then a life that is fully surrendered to the Lord is demanded. Simon Peter was brought to that place of a full surrender to Christ.
It is a wonderful blessing to have Christ our homes. In times of trouble we can turn to Him for He is able to overcome whatever troubles come in to our homes.
There are times through life when everything seems to be against us. We often feel lonely and feel very much alone during such times. For the people of God, we will never be left alone to face our sorrows, our suffering alone, the Lord will hold our hand during such times, so that we will never walk alone.
The Lord instructs Hie people to shine for Him is a dark and wicked world, Since the Lord said His people are the light of the world, we are to shine brightly for Him.
Psalm 45 has a reference to the lily in its title. This Psalm in vv 1-9 sets forth Christ as the Sovereign
There are four Psalms -45,60,69 - 80- which have a reference to the lily in their title. Each one of these Psalms set forth the Saviour in a particular way.
When speaking to the Pharisees, the Lord pointed out to them what a true shepherd is. He made it clear to them that they were not true shepherds of God's flock. The Saviour then told them what a true shepherd should be, He then pointed to Himself. Christ is our true and precious Shepherd.
It was not until Peter surrendered his life completely to the Lord, that he knew the Lord's blessing upon him. Likewise, we will know the Lord's blessing when we give over our lives to Him, completely..
The Lord told the story about two kings planning on going to with each other. One of the kings realized that he would be better seeking peace. Sinners are at war with God and would better seeking peace through the blood of the cross.
All who know Christ as Saviour and called to be His servants. It is our responsibility to be faithful servants, to live for Christ and not ourselves.
Before Peter became a disciple and apostle,, he had to brought to Christ a nd be converted. The instrument the Lord used for the purpose was his brother Andrew, he was the soul winner.
When the Lord calls us to follow Him, He calls for complete surrender. Complete surrender means that we will Him whethersoever He goeth.

After listening to the Spirit anointed witness of Paul, king Agrippa revealed to the Apostle, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. But Agrippa was not as near the kingdom as he thought.
The Lord's disciples were presented with a problem, how to feed a multiple of people with very little food. It was only when they committed the problem into the Lord's hands that the problem was solved.
Knowing what the Apostle Paul was before his conversation, it could only be the grace of God that saved him. From one who persecuted the saints, he became one who preached to sinners, all of grace.

That was until the Lord pointed out to him that riches was his god, and he could not serve two masters. He had to choose between his silver or salvation, he made the wrong choice.
During one of the darkest times in the ministry of the Apostle Paul, when it seemed that all friends had forsaken him, the Lord was found standing by him. That was a wonderful example of the loyalty of the Lord.
As the Saviour was passing by, a woman who had been suffering for twelve years, made her way to Him, and touched the hem of His garment and was healed immediately. This woman sets an example for all who suffer from the plague of sin.
Throughout the gospel of Mark, reference is often made to the looks of the Lord. There is always deep meaning in those looks, and they have much to teach us about the Saviour.
When he was converted, the Lord revealed to him that he must suffer many things for the name of his Lord and Saviour. Wherever the apostle Paul went to preach the gospel, and churches were established, he exhorted the elders to feed the flock by preaching the word of God. Having a sound knowledge of the word, would prevent the congregation from being flooded by false teachers.
The Lord told the parable about the sower going out to sow. From that parable we are encouraged to go forth and sow the good seed of the gospel. Anyone can be a sower.
That people are blessed who have the opportunity to sit under the faithful preaching of the word of God. The apostle Paul was such a preacher, he was a faithful and he was a fearless servant of the Lord, may the Lord raise up more preachers like Paul.
Looking at the life of Paul, we see a man who lived for his Lord a man who was sold out to God. As a result he saw great things done for his Lord.
Elijah was a man of prayer, a man who saw great things done by God in answer to his prayers. Although, no one had seen the dead raised to life before the prophet prayed, he believed that God could and would raise the dead in answer to his prayer.
The Apostle Paul was a man who lived for his Lord and had a burning desire to spread the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. He travelled many miles to tell forth the good news. He was joined from time to time by others, who had a burden also for souls. Paul and the others who helped him, were sold out to God.
Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal as to who was the true God of Israel. He not only confronted them but he confounded them, when God answered his prayer and sent down fire from heaven. Today we need the Lord to send us the fire of revival, and confound all of the false gods of today.
The Philistines had put out the eyes of Samson, and wanted him to make them sport in the temple of their false god. He made them sport, but it was a sport that killed them.
It is always encouraging to meet with a people who have a hunger for the word of God. They want to be fed and have a desire to study the Scriptures for themselves.
There are many examples of amazing answers to prayer found in Scripture. One such example was the day that Joshua called upon the Lord to cause the sun to stand still in the heavens, God answered that prayer.
When engaged in the work of God, we face many difficulties that Satan puts in our way to hinder us. But there is a great need to ask the Lord to carry on with the work, and to go on and go through with God, and finish the work He has given us to do for Him.
We often pray for the Lord to work by His Holy Spirit and send revival to our land. But more often than not it is personal revival we need. Athe revival of our prayer life, revival of our study of God's word, a revival of our desire for a holy life.
We know that God moves in mysterious ways His wonders to perform. It is amazing to see the Lord work providentially in full agreement with the prayers of God's people.
When Jonah was in the fish's belly, he described his experience as being in hell, or the grave. Jonah then cried our to the Lord from the belly of hell.
After suffering horrendous cruelty at the hands of the enemies of the gospel, Paul and Silas were cast into prison. Even though they would have been suffering terrible pain, yet they were able to pray and sing praises unto God. They were able to sing in the fires of affliction.

After the conversion of Saul of Tarsus, many the the Lord's disciples were afraid of Saul, because of his past activities. They were so afraid of him, that they didn't want anything to do with him and so they shunned him. That was until one dear Christian man, accepted him, and became his friend.
Speaking about the final piece of the armour of God, Paul spoke about the importance of prayer. No Christian has fought against the enemy of their soul, without prayer. So Paul calls for more prayer warriors, to overthrow the devil.
The Lord commended the believers in the church in Smyrna for their courage in suffering for His name. He then exhorted them to go on and be faithful unto death, and they would be rewarded.

When anyone claims to have experienced to new birth, then the evidence of that conversion must be evident. If they are truly born again, then evidence of their new life in Christ will be clearly seen. Such evidence was seen in the life of Saul of Tarsus.
God has given to His people an armour to put on to fight against the wiles of the devil. The best weapon God's people can use against the devil and be victorious, is the Word of God.
Every new born child in Christ, needs to be encouraged as they begin to live their new life in Christ. When Saul of Tarsus was converted the Lord sent him one of His disciples to encourage him, a man whose name means God is gracious.
The child of God is attacked by Satan every day, with his temptations and railing accusations. God has given us the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, to combat and defeat our enemy.
There can be no doubt that Saul of Tarsus behaved like a terrorist against the church. But the grace of God arrested this terrorist and brought a mighty change in his life.
In this troubled world, many people do not have peace of mind. There is an answer for the troubled mind. God has given us the answer.
When we look at the life that the apostle Paul lived before his conversion, it is difficult to believe that he became such a preacher of truth, and such a missionary who had a great burden for souls. The answer to this dramatic change in his life, is the amazing Grace of God.
Paul said that above all we are to take the shield of faith. It is having the shield of faith, and our faith in God will be be able to quench the fiery darts of the wicked.
One of the lesser known s that we meet with in Scripture is a man called Simon the Cyrenian. He was the man chosen to carry the cross of Christ as He made His way to Calvary. His cross bearing sets and example for us all.
Part of God's armour covered the feet of His soldiers. Paul spoke of that part of the armour as the preparation of the gospel. This would teach us that wherever the Christian walks they should bring the gospel message with them.
The Apostle Paul came face to face with many servants of the devil. One such individual was a witch, but Paul addressed her in the name of Christ, and he saw her converted.
Wearing the breastplate of righteousness, means that the Christian is called upon to live a holy life. Living a holy life is a great defensive against the wiles of the devil.
One of the lesser known individuals that we meet with in Scripture is a man called Ittai. This man proved to be loyal to king David. He is a picture of the Christian, who is loyal to King Jesus.
Paul exhorted every believer to put on the whole armour of God. The first piece in that armour that Paul speaks of is, the girdle of truth. Christ of course is the Truth, so there is victory in Jesus when we have on the girdle of truth.
One of the lesser known women that we meet with in Scripture is, Dorcas. She was known for her spiritual beauty, and was loved by many. In her life she showed forth the beauty of Christ her Saviour in all that she did.
The Apostle Paul exhorted God's people that because of the spiritual enemy, to put on the whole armour of God. The armour must be put on, that the people of God may be able to stand against the enemy. There is to be no compromise and certainly, no surrender.
Even though very little is written about Lot's wife, yet the Lord Jesus Christ has told us to remember Lot's wife. We may wonder what the Lord wants us to remember about her, and why He wants us to remember Lot's wife.
The apostle Paul exhorted believers to prepare for battle against the devil. Every day we battle against the enemy of our souls, so we must be well prepared for battle.
We are told in the gospels about a Roman soldier who took part in the arrest and torture of Christ. A remarkable change came about in his life, he acknowledge the One on the centre tree as, the Son of God.

God's word is unique, there is nothing like it. Of all the books ever written, nothing can be compared to God's holy word, that among many other things makes the word of the Lord Precious.
We read in Scripture about one man who spent 37years in prison, until mercy was shown to him and he was set free. After his release he was put upon a throne and was recognized as a prince. The Lord can set sinners free and set them among princes.
The dear Lord Jesus means nothing to the people of the world, they see no loveliness in Him at all. But when blind eyes are made to see, the Saviour becomes very precious to all who believe.
A young man became a rebel. He rebelled against his father, and indeed his whole family. Inspire of his rebellion, he was shown mercy, and was rescued from judgement.
There is no blood to be compared to the blood of Christ. Silver and gold are as nothing when compared to the previous blood of the Lamb of God. Nothing but the blood of Christ can wash away man's sin.
Sometimes in life we are called upon to walk down a lonely road. But the Lord who has promised never to leave His people, will without doubt, walk that road with us. The Lord by His actions and promises in His word, has assured us, you'll never walk alone.

One woman in the Scriptures who showed great love for her Saviour, was Mary Magdalene. She didn't say a great deal, but her actions spoke louder than anything she could have said.
There are many followers of the Lord that we meet with in Scripture. They all had a love for their Master. But there is one follower in particular who showed her love for the Saviour in all that she did, that person is Mary Magdalene.
We read about many doors in the Bible, but the is one Door that is above and beyond all others doors. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only Door into heaven.
The apostle Paul encountered many who ready to imprison him because he was faithful in preaching the gospel. One man who spoke with him during one of his imprisonments, was Felix. Felix spoke to the apostle about faith in Christ, but never placed his faith in the Lord.
When David was unable to attend his place of worship, he longed to be there. Such was his love and devotion for the Lord's house, I wished he could be just a doorkeeper there.

Indeed Thomas did something, that no one else did, and for which he is to be highly commended, this he did when the Lord removed all of his doubts.

When the Saviour stood before Herod, the ungodly king asked Him many questions, but the Lord answered him nothing. The Lord Jesus being the Lamb of God, remained silent as Herod spoke to Him in many words.

When God's saves His people, He expects them to serve Him. The Bible teaches us that we are saved to serve, and the Lord has plenty of work for those who are prepared to serve Him.
From time to time, the Lord allows His people to be laid aside on a bed of sickness. Sometimes those who suffer do so in silence, but even though they suffer in silence, the Lord knows all about them, which is a great comfort.

As far as the believers in the church, they felt that they didn't need the Lord, and so shut Him out of all that they did. He was like a stranger seeking entrance into the church.
Many were involved in the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ. One man who was a prisoner at the time was awaiting his time to be put to death, for the crimes he had committed. But the Lord Jesus took his place, and the convict was set free.
Among the menu doors mentioned in the Bible, there is the door which was in the side of the ark which Noah built. The ark is a wonderful type of Christ, and is the door. It is only through Christ the Door that souls can be saved from the judgment to come.
One of the lesser known people in the Bible, is the wife of Pilate the governor. She had a word of warning for him, before he passed judgment on the Lord Jesus Christ.
As we read through the Scriptures, we find many doors mentioned. Many of those doors speak to us of Christ, who said that He is the door. Such a door is mentioned relating to the homes of the children of Israel, when they were in Egypt.
Throughout the Lord's public ministry, He would often demonstrate the power of His spoken word. This was evident each time He spoke to the dead and called them forth from death to life. The word of God when faithfully preached, is still calling forth the spiritually dead, to life eternal in Christ Jesus.
At the beginning of the Saviour's public ministry, He found and called twelve men to be His disciples. He chose them, they did not choose Him. The Lord favoured them and He chose them to His fishers of men, one such man was Philip.
When the Lord Jesus met with His disciples on the evening of the first day of the week, the day that rose from the dead, He showed them His wounds. He drew attention to the nail prints in His hands and His feet. There was a very good reason for that.
So often Christians feel that they could not contribute much to the service of their Saviour. They feel their weakness and nothingness, and are determined in their own mind, the God could never use them in His service. Nothing could be further from the truth, God can and will use anyone of His children.

During life's journey we all find ourselves at some time or another passing through trials, what might be called the storms of life. During those times we find ourselves sinking beneath the waves of trouble, but there is One who is able to save us from sinking deeper.
We may recognise a godly man, not by what he may say about himself, but how he behaves. One of the signs of a godly man is his prayer life. One of the lesser knowns that we meet with in scripture, was known for his prayer life.
We all need to be lifted up when we are downcast. The Lord met such a woman who was bowed down and could not lift up herself, but the Saviour lifted her up and made her straight.
It is good to meet with those who are always ready to encourage you when you need it. Such a person was Barnabas, one of the lesser known people that we meet with in Scripture. We all can be like Barnabas, encourage others when they need it.
The dear Saviour was please to heal many people from their infirmities. In so doing He would often heal the sick with the touch of His hand, including many lepers.
