This is Shantal and Ulises! We met on OkCupid in January 2018 and are in a very healthy relationship! Shantal is four years older than Ulises, and both are in their 30’s! Being a bi-racial couple (Shantal is Armenian, Ulises is Mexican) and representing different political parties (Shantal is centrist, Ulises more Republican), we decided to start a podcast to discuss all sorts of topics! From relationships, to spirituality, to politics and current events, we’ve got you covered in our comedy-esque podcast!
By popular Instagram demand, this podcast is all about the marathon!!! Fun fact about Ulises: he ran his THIRD marathon on 3/7/2020! The Los Angeles marathon is one of the highly coveted races to complete. The 26.2 mile race starts at the Dodger Stadium and ends at the Santa Monica Pier. If you're a native Los Angeleno, you know that the distance is half the battle! The rest is mental strength to get through the long haul! In this podcast, Shantal interviews Ulises to get all the juicy information! When did he run his first race? Why did he run it? How did he prepare? What did he feel during the run? How was the recovery? Would he do it again? Shantal also shares her point of view as spectator and supporter! It's always important to support your partner's dream and efforts, and Shantal made sure she provided the support Ulises needed to complete this third marathon.

In Episode 5 Shantal keeps true to the promise she made Ulises in Episode 3 and introduced him further into the world of past lives, sound baths and all things spiritual! This is the first time the podcast hosts a guest speaker, owner of Sanaraa, Nathaly Der Boghosian! Yes, if you are sharp and attentive, you notice that the last name sounds suspiciously familiar! That's because Nathaly (pronounced Nat-Uh-Lee) is Shantal's oldest sister! Nathaly is certified to perform past life meditations and was trained by no other than Brian Weiss at the Omega Institute in New York! Jealous?! Yeah, us too!
Nathaly explains the inner workings of past lives (what ARE past lives anyway?!) and how the mind has been influenced by modern trends. Discussions with Ulises run deep as he is encouraged to stay skeptical and ask all the questions running through his mind. Past life discussions lead to topics such as meditations, sound baths (and no, this isn't the kind of bath you're thinking of) as well as some super nerdy moments as Shantal passionately discusses environmental engineering.

Episode 4 combines serious elements with comical side stories while we discuss emotionally abusive relationships. Shantal has experienced this first hand and she shares her stories with all of you! We talk about the death of poor Amie Harwick, a well-known sex therapist who was murdered by an obsessive ex-boyfriend. Sadly, Amie had a restraining order against him but it expired two weeks before her death. Amie's death opened up the platform for serious topics in our podcast, such as abusive relationships and noticing any red flags when dating someone.
