Finally, they discuss what we can expect over the close season from our 11 EFL clubs – with no representative in the top-flight during 2024-25.

A rebuild is already underway at Rotherham United as Steve Evens sets about plotting a swift return to the second tier having taken over a Millers team already-relegated to League One – we assess the several signings made so far.

On this week’s show, The YP’s Stuart Rayner and Leon Wobschall join host Mark Singleton to reflect on the latest few days of the Yorkshire football scene.
They start in the Championship and Huddersfield Town where, soon after Andrew Breitenreiter’s passing through the exit door following the Terriers’ relegation to League One, former Barnsley boss Michael Duff was heading in the other way to replace him.
They also consider the positives Sheffield United can take into the summer and the big job that lies ahead for boss Chris Wilder following an extremely tough Premier League campaign which – some time ago – resulted in their instant return to The Championship.
Ahead of Thursday night’s Championship play-off semi-final second leg at Elland Road between Leeds United and Norwich City, our panel look at the Whites’ chances of making it through to Wembley.
Lastly, we salute the remarkable run to the League Two play-offs made by Doncaster Rovers before their promotion hopes were dashed when losing their semi-final encounter against Crewe Alexandra on a penalty shoot-out.
On this week’s show, Stuart Rayner and Leon Wobschall join host Mark Singleton to reflect on the closing of the Championship regular season and the onset of the League One and Two play-offs.
Not surprisingly, they start with the shock sacking of Liam Rosenior by Hull City after the Tigers missed out on the play-offs by three points and one place.
Will the Tigers live to regret their decision to get rid of one of the brightest young managers around, or will it prove to be a master stroke by owner Acun Ilicali?
Elsewhere, the stunning job by Danny Rohl at Sheffield Wednesday was completed without fuss on the final day when his team enjoyed a 2-0 win at Sunderland – their survival achieved despite only having one win after 19 matches when the German manager arrived.
In terms of the play-offs, Barnsley’s late-season implosion concluded when their League One season was curtailed by Bolton Wanderers over two legs, while Doncaster Rovers enjoyed a good start to their League Two semi-final with a 2-0 win at Crewe Alexandra. Can they finish the job at home on Friday and make it to Wembley?

Leeds United’s hopes of clinching a top-two automatic spot took a hit at the weekend with a home defeat to Blackburn Rovers – but results elsewhere meant they didn’t lose too much ground on automatic promotion rivals Ipswich Town and Leicester City.
At the other end of the Championship table, Sheffield Wednesday are still in the fight to avoid the drop, both they and Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town sitting just a point from safety with three games remaining.

DID somebody mention a European Super League?

Those at the very top of the footballing tree - including six from the Premier League - found a way of scoring quite possibly the most spectacular own goal ever seen in the game.
Sunday was when news first started to come out about the plans but, by Tuesday night, following a barrage af criticism and anger from fans, administrators and politicians, those plans were left in tatters, with the majority of clubs having now withdrawn and left scrambling for cover.

AS promised, Chris Waters and Phil Harrison have taken far less time to return to the podcast-stratosphere, leaving it barely two weeks since their last offering, instead of the previous time lapse ... of around 16 months.
