There are SO MANY reasons that people of African descent have to celebrate #BlackLove and acknowledge its success when they see it in modern culture!
Many reports about Black people in relationships highlight negativity and are designed to show deficits. Whether intentional or not, they often promote feelings of inadequacies and fear that affects how we navigate in the world. One of my personal life missions is to look for, illuminate and CELEBRATE THE GOOD; then point others toward solutions that encourage people of African descent to RE-MEMBER WHO WE ARE, so that we can get about the business of HEALING AND SAVING OURSELVES.
This motivation is at the forefront of the work that Eugene and I do with families and couples. Over the past decade, have been working to figure out a way to present my formal research to regular, everyday people like YOU, so that it can be used to help you SET YOURSELVES FREE IN YOUR RELATIONSHIPS. They have spent more than 25 years in friendship, love, relationship and partnership. They have been Relationship Builders for more than 10 years and used their published work and research about relationships and gender roles to create curricula that have led to the creation of Maximizing the Connection, a series created to help individuals make, maintain and maximize the diverse relationships in their lives; and Power Couple Mentoring, a series that provides modern couples with blueprints, tools and skills to build confidence in their non-traditional roles as they work toward #RelationshipGoals. They also provide support toward healthy family relationships through Legacy Builders topics. They have worked with hundreds of individuals, couples, families and groups to help develop frameworks to become skillful at navigating their unique 21st Century relationships.
