James changed his name to Ra in 2013 once he was introduced to Sankofa="Sankofa" teaches us that we must go back to our roots in order to move forward. Inspired by this Empowering African Concept he started the Sankofa African Youth Consciousness Workshop movement in Sacramento and Oakland Ca and Little Rock Arkansas. James has also developed a Sankofa African Centered Youth Mentoring and Tutoring Program where youth are empowered with their great ancient history and knowledge of self. In January 10, 2014 James started the Monthly African Market Place at 2251 Florin Road in Sacramento Ca. Providing a place to develop culture, edutainment and group economics. As a Speaker / Coach James has helped many individuals achieve their goals and dreams, by showing individuals how to utilize their physical, mental and spiritual potential.
