The music industry considers your copyrights to be assets. Unfortunately, many songwriters, singers, playwrights, under-value their art, creative works. The purpose of this podcast is to challenge the artists’ way of thinking.
To answer complicated copyright questions. To demystify the intricacies of the US copyright act. To empower creatives to get the most out of their valuable copyrights. We will discuss royalties, contracts, percentages, protection, length of copyright, cross-collateralization, reversion, termination, and exploitation for profit.
One of the more popular and controversial topics in music, today, particularly for older (catalog) artists, is the complicated and confusing process of grant termination. Important litigation is in the courts today. A swirl of opinions make it very difficult for artists to know who to trust, who to believe, and what to do in order to protect their valuable copyrights. So many people, so many artists, are getting bad advice right now. It is shocking to us A) how many artists are unfamiliar with the rights that have been gifted to them by the U.S. Congress, but more disturbingly B) how few managers, agents, entertainment attornies, and confidents, fully comprehend and understand all of the necessary elements needed to respond accurately and in a timely fashion.
For those of you who are reading this, please understand that there is a window of time. That window moves every day. If you miss your window to protect your copyrights, it is possible that you will miss your opportunity for renegotiation forever. This is NOT a joke. This is not a ruse. This is not something created by Red Giant Rights Group. This is federal law given to you, the artist, in order to provide for you another bite at the apple - another seat at the table.
My name is Robert King, I run a company called Red Giant Rights Group. We asist mature artists with copyright protection and apply the intricacies of the US Copyright Act to their advantage. You, the artist, are the only person on the planet who can protect your valuable copyrights while you are alive. If anybody on your team, or friend in the business, is telling you that you don't have rights, with all due respect, they are misinformed. We hope that you will listen to this podcast, not only to be sometimes entertained by real life examples from your fellow artists, hearing interesting stories told through interviews, and behind the curtain exposure of industry secrets, but also to arm yourself with the truth with insight, with strategies, with confidence, to protect your valuable copyrights. We consider it an honor and a privilege to work with some of the greatest mature artists alive today, or their surviving family members. We are here to shine light upon opportunities for you and your family. You can always reach me on my cell phone for a confidential conversation 917-848-9934. Enjoy!
